Friday, December 7
At 7:30 AM buses departed to the Crystal Palace Skating Rink for
demonstrations and discussions on Figures and some of the new
American Dances. Ron Jellse coordinated the subtleties of the
lower figures (1and 2) and the intricacies of Jr. World Class
Figures. Bob Labriola provided the talks of the basic elements
of the dances in the new Premier Division. Later in the afternoon
Jim Pringle offered demonstrations in Freestyle and Pairs.
Upon returning to the Holiday Inn the Hall of Fame and Honors
Banquet was held in the Coney Island Room at the hotel which was
participated in by over 300 people. An open bar and sit-down
dinner was scheduled and acceptance speeches from the honorees
were all applauded.
Saturday, December 8
After a continental breakfast several sessions were offered
during the day. Some participated in Sport Psychology while
others attended talks by Bob LaBriola and Doris Walsh in
Component Relationship to Overall Result-Dance. Later Jim
Pringle and Al Caprara discussed Understanding the Difficulty
of Pairs Movements.
After lunch break Jim Pringle and Al Caprara discussed Difference
of Values in Singles and What is the "B" Mark while others attended
sessions of the Value of a Strong Club Class Program. Later Ron
Jellse related important judging points as regard to figures.
Sunday, December 9
The morning was divided into Marketing Yourself, Your Team, League,
or Club by Tony Berger and Figures What to Look For by Ron Jellse.
After coffee break all attended the final sessions of Coaching
Education Update and Judges and Coaches: Where are we Going?
by George Kolibaba.
Ideas working for the future: Next year's Judges and Coaches
Conference may include a Las Vegas Invitational Adult Contest.
Charles Wahlig, Chairman of the Board, is working with China's
Olympic Committee to add Inline Speed skating to the 2008 Olympics
in China.

Hall of Famer Curt Craton at the podiun after his acception speech.
Curt, together with his partner, Theresa Tilson Santoscoy,
won the Senior American Dance at the National Championships
for 8 consecutive years from 1982 through 1989. Curt, with
other partners also won the National Senior Dance Championships
in 1979, 1990, 1991, and 1995, as well as the Junior World Class in 1993.

Bob has over 35 years of service in the sport of
Roller Skating as computer scoring coordinator as well as working
in all the needed jobs that make your skating
competitions enjoyable and possible.

Robin Haleber was honored as Assistant Meet Director at the
Artistic National Championships and for many years has also
worked at the Southwest Pacific Regional Championships.
Our thanks to him for all of his tireless hours.
