"Amazing Grace" Out of the mists of time come the Celts, from the lower Volga valley, across the known and unknown world, leaving their indelible mark on all they pass, seeking adventure, fortune, and knowledge, to the ends of the earth, to the Islands of the Barbarians. The bravest, strongest, smartest (for wits are what they lived by) were rewarded for their epic endeavors by arriving at long last on the closest thing to heaven on this earth, the Isles of Ireland and Scotland. Beleiving themselves to be spirtual beings having a human experience, where others saw themselves as humans in search of a spiritual experience, led them to a unique perspective, making their lust for life, and absolute ferocity as warriors the stuff of legend. Further hammered on the anvil of the Highlands, and by countless attempts at their conquer, survival of the fittest in concert with an indominable will combined to produce through the deeds of Arthur, the Round Table, the Magna Carta, the guarding of knowledge and light through the Dark Ages, Highland hospitality, and the clan system, Freedom and respect as we know them today, their gifts to us. The motto of the great clan Campbell, Ne Obliviscaris, charges us to "Forget Not" the deeds of those who came before, the deeds of the "old Highland Men", the gifts to this world of Scotland the Brave ! So... should you now hear the bonnie lilt o' the pipes, see the beauty swing o' the kilt, or the fierce flag o' the Lion Rampant, look closely round you for the signs of the deeds of those who came before... take pause, and give thanks.
