"I have been inspired to create art for a higher purpose. With the help of God and the Angels, I'm rediscovering the freedom and creative expression that I felt when I was a child."

After working in the graphic design field, I found that I had become very serious about my art and had forgotten how to play. I also wanted to find my life purpose. Then in 1999 an angelic presence appeared and asked me to use my creative gifts to help people. The angel asked me to draw Soul Portraits and Visionary Art for a higher purpose. At the time, I had no idea what this meant. But I began to practice by creating portraits of my friends. I worked to gradually recapture the freedom of expression that I experienced as a child. I even blew bubbles and played jax and other activities to reawaken my inner child.

After a few months I began to draw Soul Portraits at local fairs and expos. To my surprise my intuitive abilities also emerged more strongly and accurately. I realized that these abilities had always been with me. The time had come for me to utilize these abilities more fully. With practice, I began to see energy, faces, and angels and I included these images in the drawings. I saw people's relatives, in spirit form, return to give messages which I would deliver to the recipient. I received corroboration and conformation that my perceptions were true. These experiences helped me to believe and to expand my mind to understand new truths.

Later I was guided to the "cloud gazing" technique that I use in creating the Visionary Art and commissioned drawings. I found this way of drawing to be very freeing because I didn't have to decide what subjects to draw. I intuitively smudged the pastels onto paper. Then I see what is formed in the clouds of pastels. I detailed the images so that everyone could see. These drawings contained insightful imagery intended to awaken and inspire people on
many levels.

I have seen how my artwork has helped many people. I feel blessed to have touched so many lives in this way. More than 400 Soul Portraits have been created and many art commissions since this mission started.

Media:
I mostly use dry pastel sticks and pastel pencils for details. The drawings are usually on black, white or cream pastel paper. I also use acrylic, or watercolor and watercolor pencils on some paintings.

Inspiration:
The artists that inspire me are: John Biggers, Susan Seddon Boulet, Amanda Dunbar, Andy Lakey, Dali, Klimt, Stephen Grant and many others.

Background:
I grew up in a small town on the Mississippi gulf coast. I enjoyed the beaches, the water and the sky. My family's house was filled with creativity and I always loved to draw. I received a BA from Memphis College of Art and worked in the graphic design field for many years. Now I live with my husband and baby in Dallas, Texas area. I draw intuitive Soul Portraits and create Visionary Art drawings and commissions. My artwork brightens many homes across the US. I also teach intuitive art classes to assist others in their creative expression.
