Web's Best IMx Links, Etc. arelia-imx I can trace the roots of this page back to around 1993. The Immature fan club on Prodigy was started by Kristen D. Wilkins. I wanted to be involved, so I came up with the idea of holding chat meetings, and I joined the club as a Chat Manager. Sometime in 1995, KD left the club, and Megan White took over as President. Megan left Prodigy in early 96 and turned the club over to me. As president, I decided to do some of the things Megan had wanted to do, such as start a pen pal program. I also began an online newsletter and a web page. The web page was a list of a few Immature related links I'd found, and it was also meant as a collective homepage for the Prodigy fan club, an AOL club, and an internet club. The Pen Pal Program outgrew it's boundaries in the newsletter and, in August of 1996, was moved to it's own web page. It was then open to Immature fans all over the internet. The list of links also grew, and on September 1, 1996, Web's BEST Immature Links debuted separate from the club page. With Immature busy keeping fans happy, it was important to keep fans updated between newsletters. The monthly memo was usually sent out on the 15th of the month and posted on the web page. It developed into This Just In and was moved to the links page. The We Got It Tour left many excited fans anxious to share their stories with other fans. Two stories in particular inspired me to create a place where fans could share their experiences with others: Immature Concert Experiences. Not wanting to leave out the lucky few who have had experiences other than at concerts, I soon changed the name to Immature Experiences. In late '97 as information slowed and the links page grew, my desire to run a fan club had faded. I decided to quit as president of the club and spend more time working on the web page. My goal in creating these pages has been to create an internet presence for Immature fans to visit and enjoy. Through continuous feedback from fans and a steady flow of hits, I know the page has far exceeded any expectations I had when I began. I hope to continue bringing fans what they want, and I hope you will allow me to do that. Arelia |
