Bring your thoughts and ideas about how Modus is going, and how to keep our community strong, creative and as fun as it can possibly be. [The Portmanteau Club, Sitting Room] The light scent of gardenias lingers in this room, pushing away the more mundane odors of the street outside. A brace of wide, chintz covered couches face each other across the narrow bounds of a ring-marked coffee table, each showing signs of having recently been occupied. A group of armchairs gather around a many-branched reading lamp, and offer a small haven of well-worn comfort for those inclined to sit with a good book or the daily newspaper. You also see a large blackboard, an archway, an ashcan and a swinging door. Also in the room: People Obvious exits: none. Ceit Galbraith steps out of the shadows. Ceit Galbraith grins. Ceit Galbraith asks, "Well...guess what?" Terra Brandford asks, "Siri's sick?" Eve Roquelaure steps out of the shadows. Silvana StoneSkye asks, "Postponed again?" Ceit Galbraith says, "Heh, Siri is better, Ceit has a cold, and Siri's hard drive went boom." Ceit Galbraith says, "But, my cold isn't nearly as bad as hers was, so if y'all promise not to hurt me, I'll try to run it in her place." Ceit Galbraith cowers in fear. Dimitri Savarin steps out of the shadows. Ceit Galbraith asks, "Dimitri and Eve have promised to guard me tonight if y'all come up with any overly ripe produce, right?" Ceit Galbraith says, "I'm going to toss down the cone of silence at first, otherwise I'll get dizzy." You see a dark form in the corner of your eye, and turn to see GameMaster Trevor Rage heading toward you. He taps his shades a bit further back on the bridge of his nose and smiles slightly. Ceit Galbraith calls the assembly to order. After a moment the crowd quiets down. Ceit Galbraith says, "Wow." Ceit Galbraith asks, "Hear that cricket?" Rebekah Taylor basks in the silence. Ceit Galbraith grins. Julia Lowery chuckles. Rebekah Taylor grins. Ceit Galbraith says, "Okay...I suppose everyone has read the forum description..." Ceit Galbraith says, " "Bring your thoughts and ideas about how Modus is going, and how to keep our community strong, creative and as fun as it can possibly be."" Ceit Galbraith says, "So...when Siri's hard drive went boom about 45 minutes ago, I said, "gAH!"" Ceit Galbraith exclaims, "That's pretty vague!" Ceit Galbraith says, "And it made me think about an assignment that Siri gave all of the GM staff a few months ago..." Ceit Galbraith asks, "Why are you a GM?" Ceit Galbraith asks, "So why do all of you spend time on the island?" Ceit Galbraith says, "I started to think back of when I was a new tourist...and when I had been around for a while...and what I enjoy about the island." Ceit Galbraith says, "This forum is pretty much for you to speak out about what we can all do to make Morada a better place...more enjoyable for all of us." Ceit Galbraith says, "What we don't want to change, what we do want to change. I'll do my best to answer questions, let you talk about what we can all do." Ceit Galbraith says, "Well, I just drew a blank, so let's do some questions and I'll try to think of where I was going with my tangent." Ceit Galbraith blushes a nice shade of off-pink. Alec Harlequin stands up to address the assembly. Alec Harlequin glances around. Ceit Galbraith grins. Ceit Galbraith says, "Hey Alec" Aeiryn De'Sharn stops listening to her teacher. Alec Harlequin grins. Alec Harlequin says, "Unexpected." Alec Harlequin says, "Hi." Alec Harlequin smiles. Alec Harlequin says, "Alright.." Alec Harlequin says, "To start I want to say that I know any major changes to be asked would take forever, so I'm setting my standards low and I'm keeping this nice and easy." Alec Harlequin says, "I have mentioned this to every GH and GM I've seen, and I was told to bring it up here." Ceit Galbraith grins. Alec Harlequin says, "This is a very simple thing, and won't take long at all to be .. fulfilled." Alec Harlequin grins. Alec Harlequin says, "Two words." Alec Harlequin says, "Hair ties." Alec Harlequin points at his hair. Alec Harlequin grins. Ceit Galbraith grins. Alec Harlequin says, "And I have a couple ideas to put up.." Alec Harlequin says, "And I know these might be out of reach but I thought I'd get them known." Alec Harlequin says, "One, perhaps a sort of shop or store to sell accessories to pistols or rifles." Alec Harlequin says, "Things like sights or lamps." Alec Harlequin shrugs. Alec Harlequin says, "And.. I'm also drawing a blank on whatelse I had to say.. so I think that's it for now." Alec Harlequin bows. Alec Harlequin sits down. Ceit Galbraith says, "Thanks, Alec" Ceit Galbraith smiles. Having finished addressing the assembly Alec Harlequin sits back down. Ceit Galbraith says, "Okay, I got some of my train of thought back." Ceit Galbraith grins. Ceit Galbraith says, "So I'm gonna babble on aimlessly again." Ceit Galbraith says, "Take a second right now and try to remember the most fun you've ever had on the island." Ceit Galbraith says, "The one instance...or even a couple instances." Ceit Galbraith asks, "And take a moment and try to remember what it was like when you were brand new...what made the island exciting?" Ceit Galbraith asks, "What makes the island a place that you want to spend your time? And what can we all do to improve it?" Dylan Perry stands up to address the assembly. Ceit Galbraith asks, "Dylan?" Ceit Galbraith smiles. Dylan Perry says, "If we could have some group sponsored hunts,This is a statement for any island guides here actually." Dylan Perry smiles. Dylan Perry says, "thats all i got." Chance Nevada raises his hand. Ceit Galbraith asks, "Hunting parties?" Dylan Perry grins. Ceit Galbraith smiles at Dylan Perry. Dylan Perry says, "yup" Ceit Galbraith says, "Those are fun...a themed one might be fun, too...or a competition of some sort." Dylan Perry says, "I went to the beach party a few weeks back and saw so many older players,i felt outta place too" Ceit Galbraith nods to Dylan Perry. Having finished addressing the assembly Dylan Perry sits back down. Amanda Jackson stands up to address the assembly. Ceit Galbraith asks, "Amanda?" Amanda Jackson exclaims, "Hii! Ok, like my suggestion is that well I love hunting OWF accusables and they should have items that we can get when we search them like Jungle accusables. And we should have a masquerade mystery ball because that would be fun to dress up!" Ceit Galbraith smiles. Amanda Jackson smiles. Ceit Galbraith says, "Ahhh, in fact, that reminds me of something! Siri said to make sure that I mentioned that she has been thrilled to receive a lot of player mysteries in her mail..." Ceit Galbraith says, "And that she wants y'all to know that she does plan to start running some of them in the near future. We've been waiting until after the holidays and auction, etc. to start working on them." Ceit Galbraith says, "She's also going to try to assign a liason just for such things." Ceit Galbraith smiles. Ceit Galbraith says, "Hm...a masquerade mystery ball would be fun" Ceit Galbraith nods to Amanda Jackson. Amanda Jackson nods. Ceit Galbraith asks, "Any other suggestions, Amanda?" Ceit Galbraith smiles at Amanda Jackson. Amanda Jackson exclaims, "nope!" Terra Brandford raises her hand. Ceit Galbraith says, "Let's put you on the spot a minute, Amanda." Ceit Galbraith grins. Amanda Jackson coughs. Amanda Jackson says, "k" Ceit Galbraith asks, "What do you wish there was more of on the island?" Amanda Jackson says, "shoes tores" Amanda Jackson says, "stores" Ceit Galbraith grins. Ceit Galbraith asks, "So if we put in a couple of shoe stores, you'd have fun every day on the island?" Ceit Galbraith asks, "What draws you here, and what keeps you coming?" Amanda Jackson says, "well just a few days" Amanda Jackson giggles. Ceit Galbraith grins. Amanda Jackson says, "but, I'd be happy if.." Amanda Jackson says, "There were activities like crafts" Ceit Galbraith nods to Amanda Jackson. Amanda Jackson says, "like we could collect things we find like gems and make them into jewelry" Ceit Galbraith asks, "Things for you to do on your own? Or would you like it to be where it'd require others?" Amanda Jackson says, "with one of our skills" Trevor Rage exclaims, "You mean you want us to make things to do with the crafts skill?!" Trevor Rage gasps aloud. Trevor Rage grins at Amanda Jackson. Amanda Jackson nods. Amanda Jackson giggles. Rebekah Taylor hums a tune softly to herself. Ceit Galbraith grins. Amanda Jackson says, "Because I collect gems in my gem pouches and they have no use" Ceit Galbraith says, "Thanks for letting me corner you, Amanda." Ceit Galbraith grins. Amanda Jackson says, "Then I could make pretty jewelry and wear it or sell it" Amanda Jackson says, "Ohh, one more thing" Amanda Jackson coughs. Ceit Galbraith nods to Amanda Jackson. Amanda Jackson says, "I would be thrilled if silly things happened to random people" Amanda Jackson grins. Ceit Galbraith asks, "Silly things?" Amanda Jackson says, "like someone throws some water out of the pub balcony and it hits someone below" Ceit Galbraith grins. Amanda Jackson says, "or a breeze blows through and messes up someones hairs" Amanda Jackson says, "hair" Amanda Jackson babbles incoherently. Amanda Jackson says, "dunno, just funny stuff would get me in a good mood" Ceit Galbraith asks, "Surprises?" Amanda Jackson nods. Ceit Galbraith says, "Thanks, Amanda" Ceit Galbraith grins. Amanda Jackson nods. Amanda Jackson smiles. Having finished addressing the assembly Amanda Jackson sits back down. Brenton Miller stands up to address the assembly. Ceit Galbraith asks, "Brenton?" Ceit Galbraith smiles. Brenton Miller says, "uhhh" Brenton Miller glances around nervously. Ceit Galbraith asks, "Ahh, that was an accidental hand raise, wasn't it?" Ceit Galbraith smiles at Brenton Miller. Brenton Miller says, "Wait" Brenton Miller says, "I think I have something to say" Ceit Galbraith grins. Brenton Miller says, "plz" Aeiryn De'Sharn raises her hand. Brenton Miller asks, "Why can't we use the balls in war and fuzzies?" Brenton Miller says, "they only one I've figured out we can use is the basketball" Brenton Miller says, "err warm and fuzzies" Brenton Miller coughs. Ceit Galbraith says, "I know of at least one additional sport that should be available in the fairly near future." Ceit Galbraith smiles. Ceit Galbraith says, "And a few others that are slated." Brenton Miller says, "Cause I wanna play some soccer or football....just shooting at the basket gets boring" Brenton Miller grins. Ceit Galbraith grins. Ceit Galbraith asks, "Hmm...how about working toward restoring the MFL, Brenton?" Ceit Galbraith says, "I'm sure they could use a good captain." Brenton Miller says, "Ya I heard Parker talking about that once" Ceit Galbraith says, "Try typing: MFL" Ceit Galbraith smiles. Brenton Miller says, "heh" Ceit Galbraith says, "We also want to think about what we can all do...the MFL is a great example." Ceit Galbraith says, "It's fallen by the wayside since Alex and Joy and Andrew aren't around as much any more." Brenton Miller nods. Ceit Galbraith says, "That was something that y'all did without any GM assistance, and it was a heckuva lot of fun." Brenton Miller asks, "Why'd you stop it?" Ceit Galbraith says, "We didn't...the people who played it let it sort of die." Brenton Miller says, "oh" Brenton Miller frowns. Brenton Miller says, "Well thats all I had to suggest" Ceit Galbraith grins. Brenton Miller glances around. Ceit Galbraith says, "Thanks, Brenton" Brenton Miller nods. Having finished addressing the assembly Brenton Miller sits back down. Silvana StoneSkye stands up to address the assembly. Ceit Galbraith asks, "Silvana?" Ceit Galbraith smiles. Silvana StoneSkye exclaims, "Well, I know that my request isn't going to get fulfilled in the near future, but I want to get it heard. I remember when I first came to the island, and the thing that has made me stay for going on four years now... were the mysteries of the old days. The vampires, the ghost child in the crypt, Shifty & The Man, The dead guy in the alley in French (the Captain guy or something) Things like that made me stay, and lately, I haven't seen anything like those, and I would really like to, as aside from the annual events, not much as been going on. Another thing, is new areas. I know they're hard to make work and create, but people need new things to stay interested, wether it be mysteries or areas. And, I'm done with my speech now, thank you!" Silvana StoneSkye coughs. Ceit Galbraith smiles at Silvana StoneSkye. Ceit Galbraith says, "Well, I can expand a little there on why there hasn't been as much of those lately." Silvana StoneSkye nods. Ceit Galbraith says, "Er..haven't." Ceit Galbraith says, "From around the end of November through the middle of January, just about all we spend our time on is Solstice and auction items." Ceit Galbraith says, "That takes a LOT of our time." Trevor Rage says, "And before that, Halloween.," Silvana StoneSkye says, "It seems like you need more hands, so that you don't have to have everyone working on the same thing." Ceit Galbraith says, "Well, most of us are volunteers. There will be a few positions opening up in the near future, and Siri is taking applications for those..." Silvana StoneSkye nods. Silvana StoneSkye says, "I sent mine a few weeks ago." Ceit Galbraith says, "However, there are about 12 applicants right now for only about 3 spots, and Hosts usually get a good shot at 'em." Ceit Galbraith says, "Applications for AGM positions can be sent to Siri, and applications for Hosts can be sent to Siri or Ashley." Ceit Galbraith grins. Ceit Galbraith says, "We're also in the midst of changing over to the skill-based system right now, too." Silvana StoneSkye says, "Also, one last thing if I may.." Ceit Galbraith says, "And that is taking up quite a bit of our time, especially Trevor's." Silvana StoneSkye says, "Several of those mysteries that I mentioned, were either never completely wrapped up, or things happened at the end to suggest that they would continue more in the future, yet they never seem to." Trevor Rage chuckles. Silvana StoneSkye says, "The main one being Shifty & The Man, which yes, I have an obsession with.." Silvana StoneSkye smiles. Silvana StoneSkye pokes Terra Brandford in the ribs. Ceit Galbraith grins. Ceit Galbraith says, "Honestly, I wasn't even around for that one." Silvana StoneSkye says, "It was said that he would return... he even gave me his soul, though I lost it" Silvana StoneSkye coughs. Ceit Galbraith says, "So I wouldn't be able to give much of a response on those." Ceit Galbraith winces expressively. Silvana StoneSkye exclaims, "Alright, thank you for your time!" Silvana StoneSkye sits down. Ceit Galbraith grins. Silvana StoneSkye looks at everyone whispering and shushes them. Dylan Perry raises his hand. Having finished addressing the assembly Silvana StoneSkye sits back down. Ray Krantz stands up to address the assembly. Ceit Galbraith asks, "Ray?" Ceit Galbraith smiles at Ray Krantz. Ray Krantz asks, "Oh heh already?" Ray Krantz says, "Hi, uhm, I don't want to be assassinated after the forum by any "mysterious" people, so I'm going to make this sound nice." Ray Krantz ducks his head. Ray Krantz clears his throat loudly. Ray Krantz says, "What attracted me to the island was the feeling that it was so HUGE and everytime I arrived I would explore something new, but after a while you've explored everything there is so you wind up sitting in front of the pub playing who-said-that." Ray Krantz twiddles his thumbs with a blank expression on his face. Ray Krantz says, "So anyway, after crunching on something interesting to say I decided to say:" Ray Krantz says, "To me it seems like everything is getting less and less surprising/creative/new. I noticed some things in the auction were repeated in every tent, which completely ruled out the change to be original." Ray Krantz sobs. Ray Krantz says, "Chance." Ray Krantz says, "And I mean, the zoo was un-"hip" in like a record-breaking 16 days. You, the shadowlings, were doing really good at one point when it came to bringing out new stuff but now it's like... blah." Ray Krantz says, "How long has the sign outside that Sharper Edge place said Coming Soon and when IS The Cobbler ever going to open? " Ray Krantz hums a tune softly to himself. Ceit Galbraith says, "Okay, here's a thought though." Ceit Galbraith says, "So we open up the Cobbler." Ray Krantz says, "And is Mary EVER going to open her shop? Stuff like that. And I also noticed that all the events are really getting less social." Ray Krantz asks, "Uh huh?" Ceit Galbraith says, "And 10 minutes later you say, "Okay, I'm bored. I've seen the menu, I've read the room description. I've ordered what I want, and I've put the shoes on."" Ray Krantz says, "But the whole thing is that I've actually seen something NEW." Ceit Galbraith says, "So then we open up the next shop 10 minutes later, and then you say ten minutes later, "Okay, I'm bored. I've seen the menu, I've read the room description."" Ceit Galbraith asks, "How many shops a day would we need to build?" Ray Krantz says, "I'm not saying open up a new shopping district, and not necessarily new shops." Ray Krantz says, "But there's no point in putting something there and never having it open up." Ceit Galbraith says, "Yep, you're right." Ceit Galbraith says, "I'm not saying it won't open. But while those aren't being completed, I'm working on a huge system for a few of the skills." Ceit Galbraith says, "And Trevor is revamping all of combat." Ray Krantz says, "So if Cobbler wasn't necessarily going to be opened right away, we shouldn't have know it would be there, because then we'd like not whine.." Ray Krantz twiddles his thumbs with a blank expression on his face. Ray Krantz says, "Oh. Ok." Ceit Galbraith says, "We made the decision that these primary skills and activities are more important than building a shop that you would be bored with in 10 minutes." Ceit Galbraith grins. Ray Krantz shrugs. Trevor Rage says, "Yep, and bowling (my baby) comes after all that other stuff on my plate." Trevor Rage grins. Ray Krantz says, "I was just saying, it's been there forever, something could have been done about it" Ray Krantz twiddles his thumbs with a blank expression on his face. Ceit Galbraith says, "I agree with you, I'd love to get some of these projects done..." Ceit Galbraith says, "Some of the projects are because the staff member may have left or may be on a leave of absence..." Trevor Rage grins. Ray Krantz twiddles his thumbs with a blank expression on his face. Rebekah Taylor says, "And some are being worked on as we speak" Rebekah Taylor smiles. Ceit Galbraith says, "Some of them are just by the wayside because other big projects are coming up." Ceit Galbraith says, "I know I've got a couple smaller projects that I've put on hold because I'm adding in a ton of upgrades to the BCC homes." Ceit Galbraith grins. Ceit Galbraith says, "And there's your release for the night." Ceit Galbraith winks. Ray Krantz says, "OKay, well, this is where I shut up because I'm receiving numerous death threats." Ceit Galbraith says, "Information release, I mean." Ray Krantz smiles sweetly. Ceit Galbraith grins. Ray Krantz sobs. Ceit Galbraith says, "I don't mean to jump on you, Ray...you know, I used to say the exact same things when I wasn't behind the shadows." Ceit Galbraith exclaims, "I want something new!" Ceit Galbraith grins. Ray Krantz says, "Well i'm not challenging your job or anything." Ray Krantz says, "Just answering your question.." Trevor Rage says, "The way I see it, for example.. look at this bowling I mentioned. I know it's not getting done any time soon.. I have more important things to do. If anyone is bothered by the fact it's there but not open, I can kill the bowling alley and later make it all over again when I've actually created the system.. but that would be a waste. Just think of it as an extended sneak preview of something in the works." Trevor Rage grins at Ray Krantz. Ray Krantz says, "But the more you make us wait the greater chance we'll be disappointed." Ray Krantz ducks his head. Ray Krantz says, "It's like waiting a billion years for a movie then you see it and you're like, "Is that it?"" Ray Krantz shrugs. Ray Krantz looks at Terra Brandford and suddenly starts to cry. Ceit Galbraith grins. Ray Krantz says, "terra told me to shut up." Ray Krantz sits down. Trevor Rage chuckles. Ceit Galbraith says, "Which is why I seldom mention what my projects are...now y'all are going to be disappointed when you see all the upgrades to housing." Ceit Galbraith sniffles. Ceit Galbraith winks. Ray Krantz exclaims, "Yeah Ceit they suck already I can smell it!" Ray Krantz ducks his head. Ray Krantz says, "Joking..." Ceit Galbraith grins. Ceit Galbraith asks, "Did you have any other suggestions, Ray?" Ceit Galbraith smiles at Ray Krantz. Ray Krantz says, "That's it.. oh wait, and maybe a few more social activities." Ceit Galbraith grins. Ceit Galbraith asks, "Like what?" Ray Krantz says, "Like the poetry slam and the parade were fun, because no merchants were involved but we still got to gether and accomplished stuff." Ray Krantz exclaims, "And the Karaoke!" Ceit Galbraith says, "I agree, those were great events." Ceit Galbraith says, "Ya know...I've got a question for everyone, too. That brings up a question of my own." Ray Krantz says, "So we should have more of those, then we wouldn't just cover the pub in bum-marks." Ray Krantz ducks his head. Ray Krantz says, "Amanda told me to tell you Karaoke needs to come back." Ray Krantz says, "Okay that's actually all I have to say." Ray Krantz ducks his head. Ceit Galbraith says, "I've heard some people say, "We need more merchants" and "There's only a few merchants that ever show up"...and other people that say, "We have so many material items, it's ridiculous" and "Jeesh, there are so many merchants"" Ceit Galbraith asks, "Should we spend more or less time having merchants come to the island?" Ray Krantz says, "Uhm, I like it the way it is." Ceit Galbraith grins at Ray Krantz. Ray Krantz says, "Because the more merchants come, the lesser the value of our items." Ceit Galbraith says, "That's a good point, Ray." Ray Krantz says, "And it makes merchants look like Dexter's Shoes." Ray Krantz exclaims, "no amanda I won't shush!" Ray Krantz glowers angrily. Ceit Galbraith says, "We'll never get everyone to agree on either side, of course." Ceit Galbraith says, "Thanks for your input, Ray." Ceit Galbraith smiles at Ray Krantz. Ray Krantz smiles. Ray Krantz sits down. Having finished addressing the assembly Ray Krantz sits back down. Brian Indiana stands up to address the assembly. Ceit Galbraith asks, "Indy?" Brian Indiana stretches. Ceit Galbraith smiles at Brian Indiana. Brian Indiana bows to Ceit Galbraith. Brian Indiana says, "well we have covered most of what i was going to suggest..so i will recap" Ceit Galbraith grins. Brian Indiana smiles at Ceit Galbraith. Brian Indiana says, "I like the mystery events" Brian Indiana says, "Like the mummy at the museum and the football player one and the tea house" Ceit Galbraith asks, "Do you like the shorter ones, or the longer ones?" Brian Indiana says, "even though I can't recall Shifty" Brian Indiana pokes Silvana StoneSkye in the ribs. Ceit Galbraith asks, "A few days, or a month or two?" Amanda Jackson raises her hand. Brian Indiana says, "i prefer the shorter ones" Brian Indiana says, "it's hard to know when the longer ones are moving" Brian Indiana says, " like the one night events are great" Brian Indiana nods to Ceit Galbraith. Ceit Galbraith nods. Brian Indiana exclaims, "secondly....i was going to suggest home upgrades !" Brian Indiana jumps into the air and gives Ceit Galbraith a triumphant high five. Ceit Galbraith grins. Brian Indiana says, "third...i would like to see the skills functioning" Brian Indiana says, "the skills add a lot to the rping here" Brian Indiana says, "i've been dancing like Bemp for 6 months now" Brian Indiana frowns. Ceit Galbraith grins. Brian Indiana says, "so hopefully we can get those working ASAp" Brian Indiana says, "and lastly..." Brian Indiana grins at Trevor Rage. Brian Indiana exclaims, "I say we scrap the new combat system and get that bowling alley up and running !" Brian Indiana jumps into the air and gives Trevor Rage a triumphant high five. Brian Indiana bops around like a silly teenager. Brian Indiana says, "ooh I have lots of positive feedback" Brian Indiana grins. Ceit Galbraith grins. Ceit Galbraith asks, "Anything else, Indy?" Ceit Galbraith smiles. Brian Indiana says, "that's all...oh and tell Siri to upgrade her computer so we can see more of her" Brian Indiana bows to Ceit Galbraith. Brian Indiana says, "thanks for the chance to speak" Ceit Galbraith chuckles. Brian Indiana turns towards Trevor Rage and renders a salute with his black star. Brian Indiana turns towards Ceit Galbraith and renders a salute with his black star. Brian Indiana turns towards Rebekah Taylor and renders a salute with his black star. Ceit Galbraith says, "I think she's out a-shopping tonight." Brian Indiana gets an impish expression on his face and lets out a hearty cheer. Having finished addressing the assembly Brian Indiana sits back down. Bemp Clouseau stands up to address the assembly. Ceit Galbraith asks, "Bemp?" Ceit Galbraith smiles. Bemp Clouseau exclaims, "Hi!" Ceit Galbraith exclaims, "Hola Bemp!" Bemp Clouseau says, "I'd like to mention I ddanced fine until the new skills system" Bemp Clouseau grins. Bemp Clouseau says, "However, I wanted to talke about" Bemp Clouseau says, "I would like to follow-up on Ray's comments about new areas on the island. I think it would be great if could write descriptions for new areas to help out. Of course, I don't know how that would have to be "coded" or what technical issues are involved. This brings me to my first question, whatever happened to the MOnorail station design contest?" Bemp Clouseau smiles. Bemp Clouseau says, "Some of my favourite moments were in that old Balmour House elevator" Ceit Galbraith says, "Hm...I can investigate that, Bemp...I'm not sure what the BoG status is on that." Bemp Clouseau says, "It was announced in the Modus Operandi email newsletter though" Bemp Clouseau says, "not in the game" Bemp Clouseau says, "maybe the november edition, I'd have to check" Bemp Clouseau says, "I mean, it seems like the only chance we'll have to do something like that is for our level 50 homes, which is at least 10 years out for someone like me. Not only that, I've noticed less than half of those tourists with custom homes actually use them." Bemp Clouseau pokes Brian Indiana in the ribs. Ceit Galbraith says, "I'll track down the guru in charge of the contest and get back to you on that, Bemp." Ceit Galbraith grins. Bemp Clouseau exclaims, "Great!" Ceit Galbraith asks, "Anything else you wanted to mention?" Ceit Galbraith smiles. Bemp Clouseau says, "By the way, I do miss Sasha" Bemp Clouseau says, "Should be more merchants like her" Bemp Clouseau grins. Bemp Clouseau says, "I'd like to see more, only because our characters could use some unique itesm" Ceit Galbraith nods. Bemp Clouseau says, "Oh, Aubrey has informed me that the MOnorail contest was announced in the June INformer" Bemp Clouseau smiles at you. Ceit Galbraith grins. Bemp beams happily at a maple-leaf shaped silver belt buckle depicting the 'Round the Island' railway. Ceit Galbraith says, "Aubrey's got it ALL under control" Bemp Clouseau seems to agree! Ceit Galbraith chuckles. Ceit Galbraith exclaims, "Thanks, Bemp!" Bemp Clouseau says, "So, I don't understand how our items could be less valuable with more merchants" Bemp Clouseau shrugs. Bemp Clouseau smiles. Ceit Galbraith asks, "Any other thoughts?" Ceit Galbraith smiles at Bemp Clouseau. Bemp Clouseau says, "Oh, no, thank you" Bemp Clouseau sits down. Ceit Galbraith grins. Having finished addressing the assembly Bemp Clouseau sits back down. Chance Nevada stands up to address the assembly. Ceit Galbraith asks, "Chance?" Ceit Galbraith smiles at Chance Nevada. Chance Nevada smiles. Chance Nevada taps a battered blood-stained cowboy hat with a bullet hole through the rim. Chance Nevada says, "Heya" Chance Nevada says, "First I'd like to give Trevor his props" Ceit Galbraith grins. Chance Nevada says, "I had a problem, and he stopped what he was doing and fixed it" Chance Nevada says, "I'm appreciative of that" Chance Nevada says, "Now....." Ceit Galbraith pats Trevor on the back. Chance Nevada says, "I'd like to say, that what I'm feeling, and a lot of what i'm hearing...." Chance Nevada says, "We need a more dynamic environment" Chance Nevada says, "Mysteries....." Chance Nevada says, "Renewal of group hunting" Chance Nevada says, "I think the demise of that was a mistake" Chance Nevada says, "Look at the reaction to the invasions" Chance Nevada says, "When people get to hunt together" Chance Nevada says, "Let me give an example though, of what I was thinkin'" Chance Nevada says, "By more dynamic....." Chance Nevada says, "Less static" Chance Nevada says, "Let's say there was a Stock Market....." Chance Nevada says, "And it reacted to various news of the day" Chance Nevada says, "And lets say there were more in the way of political factions....." Chance Nevada says, "A l'il unrest....." Chance Nevada coughs. Chance Nevada glances around. Chance Nevada says, "I ummm, waited my turn folks" Chance Nevada says, "And let's say there was weather affecting things" Chance Nevada says, "Perhaps I find something in the jungle....." Chance Nevada says, "And the way I dispose of it, affects the outcome of the political factions....the movement of the stockmarket" Chance Nevada says, "It gives me a dynamic affect on the way the environment moves along" Chance Nevada says, "Also I'd like to say....." Chance Nevada says, "In regard to the wonderful changes, like with the skills and combat...." Chance Nevada says, "I know they are a ton of work....." Chance Nevada says, "But....I think it's kinda comparing apples and oranges......to relate that to a dearth of mysteries" Chance Nevada says, "The island is billed as a place of intrigue and mystery" Ceit Galbraith says, "Hm..not really, Chance." Ceit Galbraith says, "It isn't in the sense that we only each have so much time in the day." Chance Nevada asks, "Creating a storyline, and plots, as opposed to coding changes?" Trevor Rage says, "Mysteries require code as well." Chance Nevada says, "Well, as I was getting at....." Chance Nevada says, "It is billed as a place of intrigue" Trevor Rage says, "And the skill system is such a powerful, fundamental part of this game, that I dare say it's almost as important to you taking part in a mystery as the ability to log on, is." Chance Nevada says, "So it isn't out of line to think someone would be working on that as much as underlying changes" Ceit Galbraith asks, "So you'd prefer that we spend more time on the mysteries and devote less to the skill changes?" Ceit Galbraith says, "There's no right or wrong response to my question, Chance" Ceit Galbraith smiles. Chance Nevada says, "Well, that is why I kinda see them as different" Chance Nevada says, "I think someone writing storylines, is a different thing" Ceit Galbraith says, "But if I have 3 hours free at night, I can't devote 3 to mysteries and 3 to skills design." Chance Nevada says, "Then the priorities need to be examined" Ceit Galbraith says, "And that's why we're asking you what you want, Chance." Chance Nevada says, "The island is not billed as the place to some for the most advanced skill system...." Chance Nevada says, "So anyway" Ceit Galbraith says, "And remember...we had three within about a month and a half time span, and then we've been devoting all our time to the holiday events." Ceit Galbraith smiles. Chance Nevada says, "I just would like to see it more dynamic " Ceit Galbraith says, "We actually haven't had much time for the skills stuff." Chance Nevada says, "Let me be clear....." Chance Nevada says, "I'm not trying to put down your work" Chance Nevada says, "I'm appreciating it greatly" Chance Nevada says, "I just think someone isn't putting enough priority on the day tooday stuff" Chance Nevada says, "The mysteries.....contests,. that kinda thing" Ceit Galbraith says, "But...the dynamic stuff you were mentioning...like weather, political factions, etc...that couldn't be today stuff, either." Chance Nevada says, "Oh no" Chance Nevada says, "But the mysteries....." Chance Nevada says, "Like Olsen......Dashwood....." Chance Nevada says, "The stop in every 4 months" Chance Nevada says, "As opposed to on a fairly regular basis" Chance Nevada says, "And the social hunting groups....." Chance Nevada says, "The invasions....." Chance Nevada asks, "Couldn't they be more regular ?" Ceit Galbraith asks, "Would they be as much fun if they were a daily event?" Chance Nevada says, "Weekly, or bi weekly" Trevor Rage says, "Invasions can be done every day, without much work. I just didn't want them to be so common as to be boring." Trevor Rage grins at Chance Nevada. Chance Nevada says, "They are great....." Chance Nevada says, "Think if they were tied to political factions" Chance Nevada says, "You kinda had that a little at first" Chance Nevada says, "I think everyone kinda misses the demise of the hunting groups too" Trevor Rage says, "Not all 'political activists' will carry a "Vote for 'X'" sign." Trevor Rage grins at Chance Nevada. Trevor Rage says, "You never know what may be behind an invasion." Trevor Rage grins. Chance Nevada smiles. Chance Nevada says, "I know, I like that" Chance Nevada says, "And maybe some kinda blackmarket too" Chance Nevada says, "A l'il more of the darkside, less vanilla" Ceit Galbraith asks, "Did you have any other suggestions, Chance?" Ceit Galbraith smiles. Chance Nevada says, "Nope" Trevor Rage smiles. Chance Nevada says, "Just keep up te good work" Ceit Galbraith grins. Ceit Galbraith says, "Thanks" Having finished addressing the assembly Chance Nevada sits back down. Terra Brandford stands up to address the assembly. Ceit Galbraith asks, "Terra?" Ceit Galbraith smiles. Terra Brandford says, "WOo" Terra Brandford grins. Terra Brandford says, "Okay, I have a few things to say, first in reponse to Chance's suggestions" Terra Brandford asks, "He wants these evasions to be weekly or something, right?" Terra Brandford says, "But what's the fun in that, then? The whole object of the invasions is sort of to be random..." Ceit Galbraith says, "I think he said weekly or semi-weekly...just more often than now." Terra Brandford says, "If you have it weekly, its like....so predictable..." Terra Brandford says, "And you'll be expecting it" Ceit Galbraith says, "Not like every Tuesday at 10 EST, but just more often." Trevor Rage says, "You can believe that invasions will *never* be clockwork." Terra Brandford nods to Ceit Galbraith. Terra Brandford says, "I realize that...But..." Trevor Rage looks at his watch, "Oh, it's 3PM, time for the mid afternoon thug run." Terra Brandford asks, "In a way, it's still not the same as being just...random, you know?" Trevor Rage grins. Terra Brandford pokes Trevor Rage in the ribs. Terra Brandford says, "Also, in response to more than just one person" Terra Brandford says, "Some of you expect these guys to do a ton of things at once" Terra Brandford says, "I'm sure a few of you program on MUDs, or have before...And it's not that simple." Terra Brandford says, "It's a lot of work." Terra Brandford says, "And...The mysteries opposed to the skill system..." Ceit Galbraith smiles. Terra Brandford asks, "What would mysteries be WITHOUT the skill system?" Terra Brandford says, "They would be slightly pointless" Terra Brandford says, "So I'd say the skill system ranks higher than it right now." Trevor Rage says, "Here's something to consider.." Terra Brandford says, "Mysteries aren't easy to write either...to have a workable plot with clues and...not to make it too simple." Trevor Rage says, "Say you have these mysteries.. wouldn't you like the type of mystery where different players can each contribute in some special way? A good, solid skill system can create that." Terra Brandford agrees with Trevor Rage. Terra Brandford says, "Exactly what I'm saying." Terra Brandford says, "So I'm patiently waiting." Terra Brandford says, "Okay, now for my suggestions." Terra Brandford hums a tune softly to herself. Trevor Rage says, "And even combat can help in that manner as well. These are basic game tools to help the game as a whole." Terra Brandford says, "I was just waiting to get that all out." Trevor Rage says, "This is not to say we should close the magic mystery shop. It's a concerted progression." Trevor Rage smiles. Terra Brandford nods to Trevor Rage. Terra Brandford says, "Okay, back to when Brenton mentioned sports..." Terra Brandford says, "I think minigolf would be fun." Terra Brandford hums a tune softly to herself. Terra Brandford nods. Ceit Galbraith grins. Terra Brandford raises an eyebrow at Chance Nevada. Terra Brandford says, "And it could like...bounce off things and everything." Terra Brandford hums a tune softly to herself. Terra Brandford basks in all her compliments for that suggestion. Terra Brandford ducks her head. Trevor Rage says, "Miniature golf could be a real blast I'm sure." Trevor Rage smiles. Terra Brandford says, "Okay, now...I think "theme-based" places would be great." Terra Brandford says, "Like one of those old western bars" Terra Brandford says, "And you could have a shop upstairs with those capguns and all." Terra Brandford hums a tune softly to herself. Terra Brandford says, "And for the grand opening, one of those fake shootouts." Terra Brandford says, "I did one of those once when I was 5." Terra Brandford says, "And maybe you could even involve a little mystery in that." Trevor Rage grins. Terra Brandford says, "I know we have a few cowboy fans in here." Terra Brandford glances around. Terra Brandford says, "Which would be fun for them." Ceit Galbraith chuckles. Terra Brandford raises an eyebrow at Jess Whiterose. Terra Brandford says, "And I'm definitely with Amanda for shoe shops" Terra Brandford exclaims, "I can never find shoes to go with my outfits!" Terra Brandford says, "No rubber thongs here" Terra Brandford shudders. Terra Brandford says, "And Parker's been bugging me to death to mention something..." Terra Brandford pokes Ray Krantz in the ribs. Terra Brandford says, "Ray, I only told you to be quiet so that you wouldnt get harmed." Terra Brandford hums a tune softly to herself. Terra Brandford says, "Parker thinks the noto pool should be raised to 2k...because the number its at now is just odd." Terra Brandford says, "Plus he's obsessed with leveling." Terra Brandford nods. Terra Brandford says, "Anyway, onto the next suggestion...." Terra Brandford says, "Weddings." Terra Brandford nods. Terra Brandford says, "There's that rule about one wedding per character..." Terra Brandford says, "Which, I don't think should be..." Terra Brandford asks, "How many people nowadays get married, then divorced and remarried a few years later?" Terra Brandford says, "It happens..." Terra Brandford says, "And with the amount of people that leave the island..." Trevor Rage says, "That rule is for sake of making sure the GM's can help everyone with a wedding, if they wish. It's not a bias against second marriages." Terra Brandford asks, "And new people who come back, it should maybe be changed to once a year or so?" Terra Brandford says, "That way people aren't getting married constantly." Terra Brandford nods to Trevor Rage. Trevor Rage says, "Not to say I think your idea stinks, just pointing out the intention of the rule, currently." Terra Brandford says, "I know." Terra Brandford says, "But, maybe you should be able to have a second wedding..." Terra Brandford says, "Just you have to wait a while..." Terra Brandford says, "You're not exactly overloaded right now." Ceit Galbraith says, "I can make sure the suggestion gets sent on to the wedding guru and Siri..that'd be something they'd have to decide on." Terra Brandford says, "And let's say I want to get married to someone who already has...I can't have a wedding with that person." Terra Brandford shrugs. Rebekah squints. Terra Brandford nods to Ceit Galbraith. Trevor Rage says, "No, but any GM who performs your wedding could be doing something else instead, so don't consider how busy we are as part of the equation." Trevor Rage grins at Terra Brandford. Terra Brandford nods to Trevor Rage. Terra Brandford says, "Sorry" Terra Brandford hums a tune softly to herself. Terra Brandford says, "Forgot that. But still." Terra Brandford whistles innocently to herself. Rebekah Taylor nods. Terra Brandford says, "But it's not like theres ANY weddings up there." Terra Brandford says, "I mean, Ami's is still listed" Terra Brandford grins. Terra Brandford says, "My final note..." Trevor Rage says, "And it's not like the 'wedding' GM's do nothing but weddings." Trevor Rage grins at Terra Brandford. Terra Brandford says, "As for the skill changes..." Terra Brandford nods to Trevor Rage. Terra Brandford just tickled Trevor Rage. Terra Brandford exclaims, "I know! That's not my point!" Terra Brandford grins. Terra Brandford flails her arms about. Terra Brandford says, "It's like, if I wanted to, I can't get married to anyone anymore." Terra Brandford says, "So...Anyway...as for the skill changes..." Terra Brandford says, "I was looking over the list on Trevor's site..." Eve Roquelaure asks, "You guys do know that you don't need us to get married, right?" Terra Brandford nods to Eve Roquelaure. Eve Roquelaure says, "Ok, just making sure." Eve Roquelaure smiles. Terra Brandford says, "I know...But it's special." Terra Brandford hums a tune softly to herself. Rebekah Taylor says, "You can marry anyone you'd like, it's just not a GM wedding" Terra Brandford nods to Rebekah Taylor. Terra Brandford begins laughing at Parker Bond! Terra Brandford shakes her head. Terra Brandford says, "So...Off the wedding thing so I can sit before people get frustrated..." Terra Brandford says, "The skill changes...." Terra Brandford says, "Maybe there could be "odd jobs" around the island..." Terra Brandford says, "To practice in the skills like...fishing and crafts and things" Terra Brandford grins at Ray Krantz. Ceit Galbraith nods. Trevor Rage nods. Terra Brandford says, "Not like a taxi cab driver" Terra Brandford hums a tune softly to herself. Trevor Rage says, "Need a cab, first." Trevor Rage grins. Terra Brandford says, "But like, maybe someone like...carlos or something would want you to go get him 20 fish or something" Terra Brandford says, "So you go to...wherever and fish." Terra Brandford whistles a cheerful tune. Terra Brandford says, "I mean of course we'd need a spot first..." Ceit Galbraith smiles. Terra Brandford says, "But, then you could get the fish, take them back to carlos and get money..." Terra Brandford says, "Plus you'd learn more in that skill." Trevor Rage nods to Terra Brandford. Terra Brandford says, "And maybe...Mel would want you to get 15 sapphires" Terra Brandford says, "and youd go by that dangerous rock in the cave and search for sapphires" Terra Brandford cowers in fear. Terra Brandford says, "And..." Terra Brandford asks, "Wouldnt it be awesome to have a spot where you could cook them fish you caught?" Terra Brandford asks, "And depending on your skill, youd get different things?" Trevor Rage nods. Terra Brandford says, "like if youre really bad..." Terra Brandford says, "a burnt mess of...something" Trevor Rage chuckles. Trevor Rage says, "Sounds.. smelly." Trevor Rage grins. Terra Brandford says, "and if youre really good...like, some kind of great fish thing" Terra Brandford says, "And of course, like Amanda said, make your own jewelry" Terra Brandford grins at Jess Whiterose. Terra Brandford nods. Trevor Rage nods. Terra Brandford says, "And finally..." Terra Brandford says, "Before you force me down because I talk too much" Terra Brandford hums a tune softly to herself. Terra Brandford exclaims, "Oh, and sushi!" Terra Brandford hums a tune softly to herself. Terra Brandford says, "I was going to say that but I forgot." Terra Brandford hums a tune softly to herself. Terra Brandford says, "Thanks, Ich" Terra Brandford grins. Terra Brandford says, "Weather...we need weather." Terra Brandford says, "It's so unrealistic that we get NONE here." Trevor Rage says, "So, basically, just lots of every day uses for skills. To be honest, that's the main thing holding us up on the skill system. I've done the core work on the system, mostly. It's making NEW stuff to use the skills that takes some time." Terra Brandford says, "its so perfect all the time" Terra Brandford nods to Trevor Rage. Terra Brandford says, "If youre stuck on anything just ask" Terra Brandford hums a tune softly to herself. Ceit Galbraith asks, "Okay, Terra...question for you. We've done a lot of talking about what we can do for you...what can y'all do for yourselves to better the island experience?" Terra Brandford says, "I could come up with something" Terra Brandford hums a tune softly to herself. Terra Brandford says, "We could RP some" Terra Brandford grins. Terra Brandford glances around. Terra Brandford says, "Seriously..." Ceit Galbraith says, "We've all gone through a ton of stuff that the GM's can make or build or do to make the island more fun for everyone." Terra Brandford says, "RPing has gone slightly downhill recently..." Terra Brandford nods to Ceit Galbraith. Ceit Galbraith asks, "Is there a way we can improve RP?" Terra Brandford says, "Well..." Terra Brandford says, "Okay, most people will kill me for this..." Trevor Rage says, "RPing should be 95% what you make it, 5% what GM's make it. We can make all the nifty doo dads and areas we want, but you guys have to make it 'live'." Terra Brandford says, "But when we have events...like merchants and all..." Terra Brandford says, "I think it should be LESS merchants and more of the events" Terra Brandford says, "I've noticed how mysteries and events make some people RP that I've NEVER seen RP before." Terra Brandford says, "I mean, merchants are important for like...customizing your character..." Trevor Rage nods to Terra Brandford. Terra Brandford says, "But it's fun to watch people come together and have fun during the events" Terra Brandford says, "I know a lot of people who had a blast during that Mercedes Books mystery" Terra Brandford says, "I know I did" Terra Brandford says, "I know mysteries are gonna be hard to cook up right now, and I'm willing to wait..." Trevor Rage says, "Yes it is. Look at the invasions mentioned earlier.. everyone always focuses on that and really gets into it." Terra Brandford agrees with Trevor Rage. Terra Brandford says, "Those are fun too" Terra Brandford says, "Also..." Terra Brandford says, "Events that the TIC runs are great." Terra Brandford says, "You really see some then." Terra Brandford nods. Trevor Rage nods to Terra Brandford. Terra Brandford says, "And, from my own personal...observing..." Terra Brandford says, "I've kinda noticed that some people dont RP because of how other people react to it" Terra Brandford says, "Like its strange or something" Terra Brandford says, "And I think people need to get over that and just have fun" Terra Brandford shrugs. Terra Brandford says, "If that makes any sense." Trevor Rage says, "That's also true. I've had players blow me off when I was in a player guise, because I was seriously role-playing. It happens on occassion." Terra Brandford nods to Trevor Rage. Terra Brandford says, "It becomes like a "joke"" Terra Brandford says, "Or, even worse...it makes you automatically a mystery player" Trevor Rage says, "Oh, and for whomever mentioned the noto cap.." Terra Brandford points at Parker Bond. Terra Brandford hums a tune softly to herself. You hear the voice of Regan Hamleigh say, "Or a GM" Terra Brandford grins. Trevor Rage says, "Keep in mind that you can make up to four times the normal noto per hour via role-play award." Trevor Rage smiles. Terra Brandford nods to Jess Whiterose. Terra Brandford nods to Trevor Rage. Terra Brandford says, "And RPing awards can be for the simplest things" Terra Brandford shrugs. Terra Brandford says, "Sometimes I get them and I dont even realize why" Terra Brandford grins. Terra Brandford says, "Then if I think about it..." Terra Brandford shrugs. Terra Brandford says, "Alsooo about RPing..." Terra Brandford says, "Some people *only* RP during mysteries" Terra Brandford shrugs. Terra Brandford nods. Terra Brandford says, "I know I used to...now I try more to RP during other times" Terra Brandford says, "But it *is* hard to when the group is being totally OOC." Trevor Rage says, "Yep, .. which means they're missing out on the fun (and rewards) of RPing the rest of the time." Terra Brandford nods to Trevor Rage. Terra Brandford says, "Thats another reason some people dont RP..." Terra Brandford says, "Because the people in the room they're with at the time aren't RPing..." Trevor Rage nods. Terra Brandford says, "Which I think causes people to become self-conscious about the RPing and such..." Terra Brandford says, "Which is another reason the TIC events are good..." Terra Brandford says, "If everyones RPing, then it doesnt feel awkward." Trevor Rage nods. Ceit Galbraith grins. Terra Brandford says, "I used to so be like that" Terra Brandford says, "So I'm speaking from experience..." Terra Brandford grins. Terra Brandford says, "For all you who think Im just kissing up or something" Ceit Galbraith chuckles. Terra Brandford says, "Man, I was gonna point at Candi" Terra Brandford hums a tune softly to herself. Terra Brandford says, "Yeah, I'll shush now." Terra Brandford grins. Terra Brandford says, "But wiat" Terra Brandford says, "err wait" Terra Brandford clears her throat loudly. Terra Brandford grins. Terra gawks at Ray. Terra Brandford exclaims, "ray's timing me!" Terra Brandford grins. Ceit Galbraith says, "I might add...we all spend time looking for people roleplaying and do hand out awards." Terra Brandford says, "One last minor detail..." Terra Brandford says, "That thing...with the non-accusable violent perps" Terra Brandford coughs. Terra Brandford says, "When you stun them, and they fall down or whatever...it says lays there, dazed. And that should be lies." Terra Brandford says, "That would make my time here much more enjoyable if it was changed" Terra Brandford ducks her head. Terra Brandford says, "Okay, well maybe not...but." Ceit Galbraith chuckles. Terra Brandford grins. Trevor Rage babbles incoherently. Ceit Galbraith says, "Thanks, Terra" Terra Brandford nods. Trevor Rage nods. Eve Roquelaure holds up a sign that says TYPO. Terra Brandford exclaims, "I did!" Having finished addressing the assembly Terra Brandford sits back down. Ichiko Daiumi stands up to address the assembly. Ceit Galbraith asks, "Ichiko?" Ceit Galbraith smiles. Ichiko Daiumi coughs. Ichiko Daiumi smiles at Terra Brandford. Ceit Galbraith says, "Okay...just so y'all know...I do have to work tomorrow, so I'm going to make a midnight cutoff." Ichiko Daiumi says, "Let me go over something Chance said, about making the island more dynamic.." Ceit Galbraith nods to Ichiko Daiumi. Ichiko Daiumi asks, "I think it would be good once in a while to see things happen because of other events. Take the deaths at Wilkinson Construction last year..how have those affected the company?" Ceit Galbraith asks, "Hmm...can I insert a question there?" Ceit Galbraith smiles. Ichiko Daiumi asks, "If they were renovating the Port Authority, maybe that's been stalled..?" Ichiko Daiumi nods to Ceit Galbraith. Ceit Galbraith asks, "How can we indicate that it's just a change as a result of a mystery, and not the continuance of the mystery that has been solved?" Ceit Galbraith asks, "Without holding up a "You solved it, but this is just a result of it" sign?" Ichiko Daiumi looks at Ceit Galbraith and shrugs her shoulders. Ceit Galbraith says, "I think your suggestion is a good one, don't get me wrong." Eve Roquelaure pauses in the act of handing Ceit a pile of posterboard and a box of markers. Ceit Galbraith grins at Eve Roquelaure. Ceit Galbraith asks, "But that's always a fear when there are changes to the island...will it be construed as the continuance of a mystery that is concluded?" Ichiko Daiumi says, "Well..events do tend to flow like that. If the company is suffering, perhaps something else will develop. A hostile takeover, maybe..layoffs, that sort of thing" Ichiko Daiumi says, "More mysteries could crop up from those aftershocks" Ceit Galbraith nods to Ichiko Daiumi. Ceit Galbraith asks, "So you think there should be more RP in general, regardless of whether it really is in specific relation to an ongoing mystery?" Ichiko Daiumi says, "You might have some of the island natives roam a bit too.." Ichiko Daiumi nods to Ceit Galbraith. Ichiko Daiumi says, "We don't have mysteries everyday, but just local events could give people things to do..run the news on Shreve's TV sometimes, put out a daily paper" Ceit Galbraith nods. Ichiko Daiumi says, "Maybe Granpere would go over to help Rosalie tend her garden" Ichiko Daiumi smiles at Bemp Clouseau. Ceit Galbraith asks, "Did you have any other ideas, Ichiko?" Ceit Galbraith smiles at Ichiko Daiumi. Ichiko Daiumi gets a distant look on her face as she ponders. Ichiko Daiumi says, "Just that if we could do more on a regular basis, it would tide us between mysteries" Ceit Galbraith nods to Ichiko Daiumi. Ichiko Daiumi says, "I think that's about it" Ceit Galbraith smiles. Ceit Galbraith asks, "How about things that others can do to make it a more enjoyable environment?" Ichiko Daiumi asks, "That depends on the people doing them, doesn't it?" Ceit Galbraith says, "In general" Ceit Galbraith smiles. Ichiko Daiumi asks, "Let me ask about those home improvements you mentioned..are those going to be BCC apartments, or all the premium houses?" Ceit Galbraith says, "The premium homes" Ichiko Daiumi nods. Ceit Galbraith says, "Thanks, Ichiko" Ceit Galbraith smiles. Ichiko Daiumi bows to Ceit Galbraith. Having finished addressing the assembly Ichiko Daiumi sits back down. Aeiryn De'Sharn stands up to address the assembly. Ceit Galbraith asks, "Aeiryn?" Ceit Galbraith smiles at Aeiryn De'Sharn. Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "Okay a slight recap." Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "On Invasions, Everday invasions as just a pain in the back for both players and GMs." Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "But I agree they need to be more often. I've been here a month and a half and the closest thing to an invasion were when there were ton's of brawlers on westend when one of the mystics were on the island" Aeiryn De'Sharn exclaims, "Heck until tonight I didn't even know that there were any invasion here!" Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "On the More merchant/less merchant issue." Trevor Rage seems to have been slacking in the Invasion Dept. Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "the reason i was so enchanted with the island is that there were more merchants here then i'd see in a year or more in GS." Ceit Galbraith nods to Aeiryn De'Sharn. Aeiryn De'Sharn asks, "I think personally there should be more merchants, yes it devalues stuff you have made, but what is the point of having something made if YOU don't want it. to resale?" Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "That just makes it so the same people make the lists time and time again, witht he more lists it gives everyone a chance to have what they like." Trevor Rage says, "I have to say,.. you will pretty much always see a lot more merchants here than in GS as long as the player base size is so different. I played GS3 for years without getting on a single list." Trevor Rage grins at Aeiryn De'Sharn. Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "Not have to make do with something sold over the comm cause they can't manage to squeeze into a list." Ceit Galbraith smiles at Aeiryn De'Sharn. Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "i played GS3 for 8 years and made a total of 3 lists, had 4 alterations as RP bonuses, and then my wedding." Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "Yet here I have already had my hands on four items, two gifts, and two I;ve designed." Ceit Galbraith asks, "Do you think that's too much? Will you get bored with it after a certain point?" Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "Two of the items I had were made by others, one was one the first day in the realms someone I befriended had me deisgn and gave me their item" Aeiryn De'Sharn rubs a silver dragon pendant intricately inlaid with onyx for scales. Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "And the other was a list I made myself." Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "But my point is that they are Affordable here... not 250x the cost to get them made." Siri Macallan steps out of the shadows. Ceit Galbraith grins at Siri Macallan. Siri Macallan sits down. Eve Roquelaure grins at Siri Macallan. Dimitri Savarin bows to Siri Macallan. Ceit Galbraith exclaims, "Surprise!" Aeiryn De'Sharn waves to Siri Macallan. Siri Macallan waves. Siri Macallan grins. Julia Lowery beams happily at Siri Macallan. Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "Okay now for a new issue." Aeiryn De'Sharn asks, "Why not make skill classes availible at the university?" Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "Say you pay a thousand bucks for a class and learn a quarter or half a lesson." Ceit Galbraith asks, "Do you think that'd be exciting at all?" Ceit Galbraith asks, "To sit in a room and gain skill over a period of time by yourself?" Aeiryn De'Sharn asks, "Is it anymore exciting then sitting at the pub being taught evasion by a level one secret agent?" Siri Macallan says, "The difference is that you can interact with the level once secret agent." Ceit Galbraith says, "Well, you have the opportunity to talk with someone then, at least." Ceit Galbraith grins. Ceit Galbraith steps back and lets Siri take over. Siri Macallan says, "Roleplaying." Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "While listening to people insult others? Siri knows I've made a complaint on that." Ceit Galbraith just hugged Siri Macallan. Siri Macallan whistles a cheerful tune. Dimitri Savarin says, "There are countless places two people can sit to take lessons." Trevor Rage nods to Dimitri Savarin. Siri Macallan says, "Not everyone is insulting, Aeiryn, and part of what I wanted out of this forum is for you, the players, to help us, the GMs in ways to keep things civil between all players as much as possible." Siri Macallan says, "I came in way late, so if Ceit has already gone over this, please don't mind me." Siri Macallan smiles. Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "I'd also like to see new 'creatures' Some sort of ghost between Apparations and Miners. I'm level ten and it takes a lot of apparations to fill my mind yet I have trouble against single miners and as a paranormal investigator it is hard for me to hunt thugs much less henchmen." Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "though I must admit i can handle stalkers but thats just a personal willingness to get hit." Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "and wanting to spend time with friends." Siri Macallan says, "Well, new paranomormal perping areas are like new regular perping areas ..." Siri Macallan asks, "What do you guys want to see us finish first?" Siri Macallan smiles. Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "I'm just saying just having the two levels of paranormal perps makes it really hard for paranormal investogators." Siri Macallan says, "Yeah, it does." Siri Macallan says, "Before they had nothing at all." Siri Macallan nods. Siri Macallan says, "As most of the other professions still don't have things to do." Siri Macallan says, "I'd love to have more things, all the way around." Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "I wasn't here during that time thankfully.. Just making a mention.. also I'd like to eventually see some of the Darker professions" Siri Macallan agrees with Aeiryn De'Sharn. Siri Macallan asks, "What is a "darker profession"?" Trevor Rage says, "More perps are in the works. I won't comment beyond that, yet." Trevor Rage smiles at Aeiryn De'Sharn. Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "I can't remember what types were mentioned to me in the past but they sounded fun." Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "Like a crime lord, or pickpocket, etc." Eve Roquelaure holds up a sign that reads, "GMing IS a Darker Profession". Siri Macallan asks, "A question in general ... do you want players to be able to go against players, or just against other perps?" Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "Also I really don't like the lick change personally." Siri Macallan says, "And that's something everyone needs to." Siri Macallan says, "Err, needs to think about." Siri Macallan says, "Lick is gonna stay. I hated having someone else be able to make me punch them." Siri Macallan whistles a cheerful tune. Siri Macallan says, "PM's perrogative." Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "I'd like the ability to steal from perps at least. Like steal back the extra money a henchman or pickpocket steals from you." Siri Macallan nods. Trevor Rage says, "A point on that, Siri.." Siri Macallan asks, "Ja?" Siri Macallan smiles. Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "Also i agree with the statement that the violent perps in Spanish and French should be searchable just like the jungle perps." Siri Macallan asks, "Um, aren't they?" Aeiryn De'Sharn looks over at Siri Macallan and shakes her head. Trevor Rage says, "As far as player versus player interaction in combat.. I'd also like to hear opinions on a system to make you either player versus player or not. Many of you are familiar with 'PvP switches' in other games." Siri Macallan says, "I mean, I kill one, I search it." Trevor Rage says, "Aeiryn means the accusables." Siri Macallan says, "Ah." Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "When you try to search a spanish accusable it say that it's not avisable." Siri Macallan says, "I'll be honest." Siri Macallan says, "That's way low on the totem pole." Siri Macallan says, "The accusables are the first perp we ever built, and they don't work on the same system as the new versions." Siri Macallan says, "And changing them over would be ... difficult." Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "But with the jugnle your not only making more cash for findign them but then you have a chance of finding items on them" Siri Macallan says, "Yes." Siri Macallan nods. Siri Macallan says, "Some people don't even bother with accusables." Siri Macallan says, "Some people do." Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "i just agree that all the violent ones should be searchable.." Siri Macallan smiles. Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "maybe you won't find more then pocket lint but." Jon Garfield raises his hand. Siri Macallan says, "I'm just telling everyone what the likelihood of that will be." Siri Macallan says, "I'm not going to smile and lie and say, yes yes, we'll do it." Siri Macallan chuckles. Aeiryn De'Sharn chuckles. Siri Macallan says, "Because it really won't be happening for a long, long time." Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "That's a change you really already have the groundwork for.. just have to see what the coding that makes a jungle perp searchable and switch in it the others." Siri Macallan chuckles. Siri Macallan says, "It's not that easy, Aeiryn." Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "And yes I've done very minor swap work programming." Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "it can get tricky I don't know your code so can't say how easy or hard it it." Siri Macallan says, "If it was that easy, I'd say we could do it." Siri Macallan says, "But as I said we can't, it's not that easy." Siri Macallan grins. Siri Macallan chuckles. Aeiryn De'Sharn nods to Siri Macallan. Siri Macallan asks, "Did you have any other suggestions or questions, Aeiryn?" Aeiryn De'Sharn shakes her head. Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "Think i listed them all." Aeiryn De'Sharn goes over Alec's notes. Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "oooh one other." Siri Macallan says, "Thanks for sharing. I'll read over the capture of the stuff I missed." Siri Macallan says, "Ah, okay." Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "back to the teaching. If not the university classes why not try having the teacher-to-student ranks play into how long it takes to learn a skill." Beckah Arnett raises her hand. Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "I mean if I had a master there teaching me how to do a backflip I would learn faster then having someone who barely knows how to do one better then myself." Siri Macallan says, "Unless you were totally hamhanded to begin with." Aeiryn De'Sharn whistles a cheerful tune. Siri Macallan says, "And I believe that's something which is in the game plan." Terra Brandford stands back up. Terra Brandford went through an archway. Siri Macallan says, "Actually, I believe it's in now." Siri Macallan glances at Trevor Rage. Trevor Rage says, "It does play a factor, Aeiryn." Siri Macallan nods. Trevor Rage says, "Luckily for you, most classes are short. Try when you have 400 ranks in something." Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "My nose starts hurting when i even try to think of sumersaults much less backflips." Trevor Rage grins. Aeiryn De'Sharn looks over at Trevor Rage and shakes her head. Trevor Rage says, "Then the difference in skill levels as well as the teacher's teaching skill (in the new skill system) will mean a big difference." Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "I would have the same time learning evasion from jared who had 64 ranks as from say someone I was listening to who had over 300" Siri Macallan says, "But 300 is average." Siri Macallan says, "Try learning from someone who has 500." Siri Macallan smiles. Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "It's remarkably high when you only have 15." Siri Macallan says, "Patience grasshoppper." Siri Macallan says, "But an average person still isn't the best teacher no matter how stupid the student is." Siri Macallan says, "Or uneducated." Siri Macallan says, "Which is a better way to put it." Siri Macallan chuckles. Trevor Rage says, "I capped the speed of learning to 40 mins minimum. There is also a max cap so as to avoid an eternal class." Aeiryn De'Sharn nods. Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "It just seems like any class is 40 minutes no matter who's teaching it to me" Siri Macallan says, "We don't have that many people who are beyond average in any skill." Siri Macallan says, "Yet." Trevor Rage says, "I may need too look over the formulas, but I assure you that will change if you ever get those skills way up there." Trevor Rage grins at Aeiryn De'Sharn. Aeiryn De'Sharn nods. Siri Macallan asks, "Anything else you'd like to add, Aeiryn?" Siri Macallan smiles. Aeiryn De'Sharn goes back over her list checking things off mentally. Aeiryn De'Sharn says, "Nope." Siri Macallan says, "Thanks for the suggestions." Trevor Rage smiles. Having finished addressing the assembly Aeiryn De'Sharn sits back down. Hans Sarber stands up to address the assembly. Siri Macallan says, "Hi, Hans." Siri Macallan smiles. Hans Sarber smiles. Hans Sarber says, "Hi there." Hans Sarber says, "First, I'd like to thank all of you GMs who spend so much of your time making this island more fun and realistic. I know a lot of you do it without any pay AND while trying to maintain another day job... and I'd just like to say that I really appreciate it." Eve Roquelaure grins at Hans Sarber. Siri Macallan beams happily at Hans Sarber. Siri Macallan says, "I like this one." Siri Macallan grins. Hans Sarber laughs! Hans Sarber says, "Having said that, I was wondering if it would be possible to have a Morada-wide yard sale. It need not be terribly complicated, just provide a forum for people who want to sell some of their old items. It could be in conjunction with any number of events, and could be as extravagant as GM time would allow. It could even be done without GM assistance at all, if a group of tourists wanted to get together and organize it." Hans Sarber says, "I'd be willing to help work on that if a group of tourists wanted to work with me on it..." Siri Macallan says, "I don't know why not. All it takes is time to set up the areas or the places for people do display their wares." Hans Sarber nods. Hans Sarber says, "It really doesn't need any GM involvement at all..." Hans Sarber says, "It's just something I was thinking about." Hans Sarber says, "And, because I don't want to bog things down..." Siri Macallan says, "The only thing which I think would make it helpful is if everyone could have a display case only they could get into." Hans Sarber coughs. Hans Sarber nods. Eve Roquelaure holds up a sign that says, "EXCHANGE - In the park!". Siri Macallan says, "That way items don't poof, or get nabbed." Ceit Galbraith glances at Eve's sign pile. Hans Sarber says, "That would be nice... but it would require GM time..." Siri Macallan says, "And everything can be laid out." Trevor Rage begins laughing at Ceit Galbraith! Siri Macallan grins. Hans Sarber says, "I don't know how hard it would be to make a display case like that..." Siri Macallan says, "We already have them. It just needs some fudging." Siri Macallan says, "Tell you what ..." Siri Macallan says, "Get your group of interested persons together, write your proposal, and we'll figure out dates and what needs to be done." Hans Sarber exclaims, "Ooooh! That would be great!" Hans Sarber beams happily at Siri Macallan. Hans Sarber says, "Well, I've said what I came to say, so I'll sit down now. Thanks a bunch." Hans Sarber sits down. Siri Macallan says, "Thanks, Hans." Siri Macallan smiles. Having finished addressing the assembly Hans Sarber sits back down. Jess Whiterose stands up to address the assembly. Siri Macallan says, "Hi, Jess." Siri Macallan smiles. Jess Whiterose says, "Heya Siri" Jess Whiterose says, "Um getting back to the topic at hand" Jess Whiterose says, "The point being what we all were attracted to and what makes us stay" Jess Whiterose says, "and What could help with that" Jess Whiterose says, "I say it's a combination with me" Jess Whiterose says, "What I would really like is the skill system in, because that is selfsustaining, and provides much rp opportunity without gms having to be here round the clock" Siri Macallan says, "I'd like that too." Siri Macallan says, "Mostly because it will allow everyone to DO things, while we work on mysteries, and other events." Jess Whiterose says, "once that is in place then I see that as a way to rp teaching others and learning from others with the skills" Jess Whiterose says, "that is one of the things I love" Jess Whiterose says, "Learning how to use skills that I have not discovered" Trevor Rage nods. Jess Whiterose says, "and teaching others as I learn" Jess Whiterose says, "and that provides ways to rp the learning and teaching" Jess Whiterose says, "so that is important to me" Siri Macallan nods to Jess Whiterose. Jess Whiterose says, "and that is self sustaining" Jess Whiterose says, "the mysteries are major" Jess Whiterose says, "I love those and I also see that those require support" Jess Whiterose says, "but they also are what attracts folks and makes them stay" Siri Macallan nods to Jess Whiterose. Jess Whiterose says, "but they also require gm time and volunteer work" Jess Whiterose says, "so they are not day to day things" Jess Whiterose says, "and I think a mix of short and long term mysteries is good" Jess Whiterose says, "I like the long term cause it adds to rp" Jess Whiterose says, "introducing folks to an ongoing thing" Trevor Rage nods. Jess Whiterose says, "yet I see the value in the short wrap ups too" Siri Macallan says, "I like both." Jess Whiterose says, "but key to tourists being able to work with what exists is the skills stuff" Siri Macallan says, "For a start, yes." Siri Macallan nods. Jess Whiterose says, "and that's just my suggestion, and you all know that" Jess Whiterose says, "again learning new stuff from others and exploring was what cinched me" Trevor Rage says, "I'm an 'explorer' too." Trevor Rage smiles at Jess Whiterose. Siri Macallan says, "Everyone comes for something different, I think." Trevor Rage nods to Siri Macallan. Siri Macallan says, "And we have a lot of folks who are not explorers." Eve Roquelaure leans on Dimitri Savarin. Trevor Rage says, "Yes we do." Trevor Rage grins at Siri Macallan. Siri Macallan says, "And some of them aren't even perpers ... which is fine by me." Jess Whiterose says, "true, but fact is gms cannot be here round the clock" Siri Macallan says, "I want us to get to the point where there's something for everyone." Dimitri Savarin smiles at Eve Roquelaure. Jess Whiterose says, "and working on the stuff and doing events and all, so there is magic beyond that" Jess Whiterose says, "I rp greatly hunting" Jess Whiterose says, "but that is just me" Jess Whiterose says, "and I recognize that not all like hunting" Jess Whiterose says, "but the best times I have had are when I learn something that has been around or something that uses a skill and then I can rp showing it to others or helping them learn it" Siri Macallan nods to Jess Whiterose. Jess Whiterose says, "so the more of those there are the more fun there is and there are tons of other ways to show stuff around the island" Jess Whiterose sits down. Jess Whiterose says, "thanks" Siri Macallan smiles. Siri Macallan says, "Thanks, Jess." Having finished addressing the assembly Jess Whiterose sits back down. Danie Roberts stands up to address the assembly. Danie Roberts exclaims, "Hi!" Siri Macallan says, "Hey, Danie." Siri Macallan smiles. Danie Roberts says, "First of all, thanks for having this forum, and for having it when I'm around." Danie Roberts grins. Danie Roberts says, "My stuff is a few little things." Siri Macallan grins. Danie Roberts says, "Ceit asked about more vs. fewer merchants." Siri Macallan nods. Danie Roberts says, "I think it's that we get a huge bunch of them at once, and then nothing for a long time. It might be fun to spread 'em out a little bit, and maybe even do them in a way that would be easier for you guys to handle." Danie Roberts says, "Like the kite person, or a flip-flop stand or whatever. Same items, just customized." Siri Macallan says, "A lot of it has to do with ... hmm, impact, I guess." Danie Roberts says, "Or have the weapon guy show up and do only cosmetic work." Danie Roberts nods. Siri Macallan says, "A long time ago, we used to have them once a month." Siri Macallan says, "And people would whine, literally, that there weren't enough merchants." Danie Roberts says, "Just getting something a bit unique and "you" is a lot of fun." Siri Macallan says, "Actually, every other week." Danie Roberts nods to Siri Macallan. Siri Macallan says, "Because one person, every other week, really doesn't have much impact." Danie Roberts says, "Well, the big events sure do." Danie Roberts grins. Siri Macallan says, "And if you missed that merchant ... well, you'd have to wait a while again." Danie Roberts nods. Siri Macallan says, "So we started doing larger affairs, simply so there'd be a greater saturation, and merchant to player ratio." Danie Roberts says, "Don't get me wrong, it's fun to stay awake for four days at a time during a big event." Danie Roberts grins. Danie Roberts says, "Anyway, I don't have any merchant complaints, just that opinion re: Ceit's question." Siri Macallan says, "In reality, I'm trying to find a way to balance it." Danie Roberts nods. Siri Macallan says, "Which is one of the reasons for me wanting a few more GMs on staff." Danie Roberts says, "Well, it's impossible to please all." Danie Roberts exclaims, "So please me!" Siri Macallan grins. Danie Roberts grins. Danie Roberts says, "She also asked about short vs. long mysteries." Siri Macallan nods. Danie Roberts says, "As a new folk here, I found the long mysteries to be really confusing. I tried to catch up, but info can be hard to come by." Siri Macallan nods to Danie Roberts. Siri Macallan says, "Especially on the very old ones." Danie Roberts nods. Danie Roberts says, "And it's hard to catch up even if you're not here when something happens." Danie Roberts says, "So briefer things can be fun. Also..." Danie Roberts says, "Things to RP around that aren't necessarily mysteries, but situations." Siri Macallan asks, "Can you give me an example?" Danie Roberts says, "Well, Ichiko mentioned when a new place opens, have an event. Like a restaurant opens and we have a wine tasting." Danie Roberts says, "Not a huge thing, just a situation." Danie Roberts says, "Where all sorts would be thrown together." Danie Roberts says, "Silv's mentioning when the hotel blew up." Siri Macallan says, "Let me ask a rather cynical question." Danie Roberts nods. Siri Macallan says, "We have oh, say a shop opening." Danie Roberts nods. Siri Macallan says, "And I very, very rarely see people holding up new clothes, or rping fights over a slinky black dress, or RPing about the price or whatever." Danie Roberts grins. Danie Roberts says, "I did, during summer sale, with the swimsuits." Danie Roberts coughs. Siri Macallan asks, "What do you think needs to change before the events that already are availble to players are used as vehicles to RP with?" Trevor Rage says, "You missed the mini-unveiling of the flamethrower fuel." Danie Roberts says, "But you're right, we can play with that more. We should." Trevor Rage grins at Siri Macallan. Siri Macallan nods to Trevor Rage. Siri Macallan says, "I did." Siri Macallan grins. Julie Green raises her hand. Danie Roberts asks, "I think maybe having the NPC in the store talk or something?" Danie Roberts says, "Kind of a nudge: "RP THIS!"" Danie Roberts grins. Siri Macallan grins. Siri Macallan nods. Ceit Galbraith glances at Eve for a sign. Trevor Rage smiles. Danie Roberts says, "I'm really happy about the skill changes. It's hard to get noto only by hunting when you're not a hunter." Danie Roberts says, "Ooh, Jon had a great idea. One idea might be to have items not be unlimited in stock." Siri Macallan says, "One of the points I wanted to make at this forum, is that Modus is only as good as what the players are willing to do with it." Danie Roberts says, "So you HAVE to fight over things. Or a blue light special." Siri Macallan says, "We're not a Nintendo game." Danie Roberts says, "And thank God for that." Siri Macallan says, "And we're never, ever going to be able to offer a hundered different levels." Siri Macallan says, "All with never ending changing scenarios." Danie Roberts nods. Siri Macallan says, "That's just not what we are." Siri Macallan says, "So the "entertainment value" come a great deal from how much the players are willing to be proactive, and not just reactive." Danie Roberts seems to agree! Ceit Galbraith waves. Ceit Galbraith exclaims, "Naptime for me!" Rebekah Taylor waves to Ceit Galbraith. Trevor Rage waves to Ceit Galbraith. Siri Macallan grins. Siri Macallan waves to Ceit Galbraith. Ceit Galbraith slips quietly into the shadows. Danie Roberts says, "That's what I like about text vs. graphics. Imagination and the need to do things." Siri Macallan agrees with Danie Roberts. Danie Roberts says, "And Ceit mentioned stuff we could do vs. things you guys could do." Siri Macallan nods. Danie Roberts says, "I do see a lot of people doing things. I think people just aren't sure what to do. Some of us having been doing games and such. The mentors are doing awesome things, and I think it contributes a lot to the sense of community and to RPing in general." Siri Macallan exclaims, "I agree, I love it!" Danie Roberts says, "Someone mentioned self-consciousness about RPing when no one else is, and I'm guilty of that, too. So I RP with other characters, and Danie's become more like just me." Siri Macallan says, "That's something I really want to change." Danie Roberts says, "But I'm seeing more and more RPing because of events." Siri Macallan nods to Danie Roberts. Danie Roberts says, "I love Hans' idea." Danie Roberts grins. Danie Roberts says, "And I'm done, except for my one gripe that the para areas are comm-off." Danie Roberts grins. Siri Macallan says, "It's that underground thing." Danie Roberts says, "Oh, one more thing! Sorry." Danie Roberts ducks her head. Siri Macallan grins at Danie Roberts. Danie Roberts says, "I know there's not enough time in the day to do everything, or to do everything you'd like. Ceit mentioned that you have lots of applications and are hiring a few new GMs. Maybe you could hire anyone who's qualified." Danie Roberts grins. Siri Macallan says, "It comes down to pay, and fairness of time." Danie Roberts blinks at Ichiko Daiumi. Danie Roberts nods. Siri Macallan says, "As most of you have heard us say, the GMs in here get a very, very small amount of moola for the work they do. Usually it's enough for a pizza and a six pack of cola." Siri Macallan says, "And all the GM pay comes out of a pool." Siri Macallan says, "So the more you dip into the pool, the smaller the shares become." Danie Roberts says, "I know. Lots of folks are willing to help out, tho." Danie Roberts nods to Siri Macallan. Siri Macallan says, "I have an ethical problem with asking people to work in the way I need them to work, as a manager, for diddly squat." Siri Macallan smiles. Danie Roberts laughs! Danie Roberts says, "I hear you." Rebekah Taylor grins. Siri Macallan says, "I also don't think it's fair to spread out the senior staff too think with new hires." Siri Macallan says, "It ends up that we get so busy training the new people that we don't get any of our stuff done." Danie Roberts nods. Siri Macallan says, "So it usually ends up that I hire about three new folks, let them get settled and rolling on their own, and then hire a few more new folks." Danie Roberts nods. Siri Macallan says, "I also find that if I try to hire more, the new people don't get the attention they need to learn all that there is to learn." Danie Roberts nods. Danie Roberts says, "I do think people want to help out, if they know how. If you think of ways, do let us know." Siri Macallan says, "Well, coming up with ways to do things, a la games, or flea-markets, or mysteries ... that all helps." Danie Roberts smiles. Danie Roberts nods. Siri Macallan says, "And the more you plan it out, the easier and faster it is for us to be able to work with it." Danie Roberts nods. Danie Roberts says, "Anyway, I didn't mean to take up so much time." Danie Roberts blushes a nice shade of off-pink. Siri Macallan grins. Siri Macallan says, "Thanks, Danie." Danie Roberts sits down. Having finished addressing the assembly Danie Roberts sits back down. Esmeralda Beaujolais stands up to address the assembly. Esmeralda Beaujolais says, "Eek" Esmeralda Beaujolais grins. Siri Macallan says, "Hi, Esmeralda." Siri Macallan grins. Esmeralda Beaujolais says, "Hi, Siri" Esmeralda Beaujolais grins. Esmeralda Beaujolais says, "I've been thinking, too, about what it is I like here." Esmeralda Beaujolais says, "My first thought about what I like on the island was the interactions between people - in person, over the comm, between PC and NPC, etc." Esmeralda Beaujolais says, "The social interactions, the RPing, are what make the skills system, the NPCs, the room descriptions, the merchant items, everything, come together into a place where we love to hang out. Just like you and Danie were discussing." Esmeralda Beaujolais says, "This thinking led me to how to encourage new tourists to stay on the island, since the more people, the more interactions and the more dynamic it is, as Chance said earlier." Siri Macallan nods to Esmeralda Beaujolais. Siri Macallan says, "Yep." Esmeralda Beaujolais says, "I hate to meet fantastic new people and then have them disappear the next week. The Guides do a great job at the meeting and greeting, and their events are great, but there are only a few of them and lots of us." Esmeralda Beaujolais grins. Esmeralda Beaujolais says, "I think most of us try to make new tourists feel at home, but if we all made an extra effort to hang out with one more new tourist a week, we might keep more of the tourists who come to check out the island." Esmeralda Beaujolais says, "Introduce them to your friends, take them to the casino, play laser tag with them at the zoo, organize a brawler hunting party once a week, talk over old mysteries over a beer at the Moon...things like that. Pull them into the environment and show them why you love to spend time here." Esmeralda Beaujolais says, "That's what got me to stay." Esmeralda Beaujolais says, "There are about thirty of us non-Guides here in this room. If we could each meet one new tourist this week and get them to stay, imagine what this place would be like. We wouldn't be surprised when sixty people were on at the same time." Siri Macallan says, "And give them a chance to settle in. Most new players are ducks out of water to begin with." Esmeralda Beaujolais nods to Siri Macallan. Siri Macallan says, "Sure, some are here to be jerks, but most aren't." Esmeralda Beaujolais says, "I don't think it has to be organized, just a little more effort on everyone's part." Esmeralda Beaujolais says, "We can tell the jerks pretty quickly, too" Esmeralda Beaujolais grins. Siri Macallan says, "The Guides are needing more peeps ... just as a general FYI to everyone. If y'all are interested, contact Jackson." Siri Macallan smiles. Esmeralda Beaujolais asks, "I know some people have turned in applications to him. Is there any notification when you do turn one in?" Esmeralda Beaujolais asks, "Or should people resend them?" Siri Macallan says, "Not sure, I'd have to ask." Esmeralda Beaujolais says, "I know some that did in August and never heard if they were received or not" Esmeralda Beaujolais says, "But I know they were just getting going then" Eve Roquelaure holds up a sign that reads, "Contact Jackson at MO-JACKSON@play.net". Esmeralda Beaujolais says, "And he was busy" Esmeralda Beaujolais begins chuckling at Eve Roquelaure. Siri Macallan says, "Ah. If they were from back in August, I'd resend." Siri Macallan grins at Eve Roquelaure. Esmeralda Beaujolais nods to Siri Macallan. Esmeralda Beaujolais says, "So, that was my "New Tourist Encouragement Idea"" Esmeralda Beaujolais grins. Siri Macallan exclaims, "Thank you!" Siri Macallan grins. Esmeralda Beaujolais says, "My second thought was about how I love working with people in a group, often people I've never spent time with before. Solving mysteries, in particular, but any group activity that makes us work as a team. That's how we learn about each other, and we end up talking about them for a long time afterwards." Esmeralda Beaujolais says, "More interaction stuff" Esmeralda Beaujolais grins. Esmeralda Beaujolais says, "I'm really glad to hear that people have sent in mysteries they wrote themselves. I can't wait to try to solve some of them! I hope to finish mine someday soon. " Siri Macallan says, "There are several." Siri Macallan nods. Esmeralda Beaujolais nods. Esmeralda Beaujolais says, "If we can get involved doing things like that ourselves, I think it might be more likely that they would happen, since some of the work has been done by us. At least in the case of mysteries." Esmeralda Beaujolais says, "Or at least you would know we were interested in helping out." Siri Macallan nods to Esmeralda Beaujolais. Esmeralda Beaujolais says, "I also love it when people do impromptu things, like start up games that bring people together. I thought it was great that Julie Green was doing tarot card readings for people last night. The MFL was a good suggestion earlier, too." Esmeralda Beaujolais grins at Julia Lowery. Esmeralda Beaujolais babbles incoherently. Esmeralda Beaujolais says, "Yay, Julie" Esmeralda Beaujolais grins. Siri Macallan says, "I miss the MFL." Esmeralda Beaujolais nods to Siri Macallan. Esmeralda Beaujolais says, "Those are examples of things we can do ourselves, instead of twiddling our thumbs waiting for things to happen." Esmeralda Beaujolais twiddles her thumbs with a blank expression on her face. Esmeralda Beaujolais grins. Siri Macallan agrees with Esmeralda Beaujolais. Esmeralda Beaujolais says, "Anything that encourages these things is good, whether it's showing a new tourist the ropes, or creating some activity ourselves, in addition to things the GMs do. " Esmeralda Beaujolais says, "We can do more ourselves, and I think we'd like to. We just need to brainstorm some more ideas." Siri Macallan says, "I'm all for it." Esmeralda Beaujolais says, "Hans' idea was great" Esmeralda Beaujolais says, "And thanks to you guys for being willing to support player ideas" Esmeralda Beaujolais says, "I think I've talked too much" Esmeralda Beaujolais grins. Siri Macallan grins. Esmeralda Beaujolais says, "So I'll sit down and see if others have ideas for us to do ourselves" Siri Macallan says, "Nah." Siri Macallan says, "Thanks for the suggestions." Siri Macallan smiles at Esmeralda Beaujolais. Esmeralda Beaujolais says, "Rather than asking you all to create more things" Esmeralda Beaujolais grins. Esmeralda Beaujolais says, "Thanks for listening, Siri, and all you guys" Esmeralda Beaujolais sits down. Siri Macallan exclaims, "Thank you!" Having finished addressing the assembly Esmeralda Beaujolais sits back down. Darci Matthews stands up to address the assembly. Siri Macallan says, "Hi, Darci. " Darci Matthews smiles. Siri Macallan smiles. Darci Matthews says, "Hi, Siri." Darci Matthews says, "Ok, I'll try to keep this short." Siri Macallan grins. Ray Krantz raises his hand. Darci Matthews says, "I like the ideas of us having more stuff to do on our own." Darci Matthews says, "Encouraging people to step away from the pub." Darci Matthews ducks her head. Siri Macallan smiles. Darci Matthews says, "One thing that was brought up was hunting groups." Darci Matthews says, "That is something that is easily organized by us." Darci Matthews says, "Just a shout over the comm could do it." Darci Matthews says, "Or make it a weekly thing." Darci Matthews says, "And I've been thinking about what keeps me here." Siri Macallan says, "Hunting groups are fun." Darci Matthews nods. Siri Macallan says, "Sorry, bad lag." Darci Matthews says, "It's a good way to try an area to see if you can do it." Darci Matthews says, "I have to say one thing that I miss lately though is just the basic stuff going on. Like with the mysteries that just happened." Siri Macallan says, "It's also a good way to start earning money for group projects, like prize money, or Club start-up funds." Darci Matthews says, "It's hard to catch up in the middle." Siri Macallan nods to Darci Matthews. Darci Matthews says, "One idea I had was maybe some sort of in game Island news. Like reading the headlines outside the Informer." Darci Matthews says, "Just something to let people know who to look out for if it's something ongoing and to fill in the blanks." Siri Macallan says, "That could be fun." Siri Macallan says, "It just needs organizing, and someone who has time to write/do it." Darci Matthews says, "I know that's been a complaint in the past, people trying to bring people up to date while the action is going on." Darci Matthews nods. Darci Matthews grins. Darci Matthews says, "Which I think has been covered as a problem." Siri Macallan chuckles. Darci Matthews says, "One other thing I think is part of the problem is that people don't really have an idea about how to get things started." Darci Matthews says, "I would get involved with stuff if I knew where to start." Siri Macallan says, "Well ..." Siri Macallan scratches her head, looking a bit confused. Darci Matthews grins. Siri Macallan asks, "I mean, what stops you from just starting?" Darci Matthews says, "Ok, what stops me is that I'm not exactly the leader type." Darci Matthews blushes a nice shade of off-pink. Siri Macallan nods to Darci Matthews. Siri Macallan says, "Something I've noticed as a difficulty is that those who ARE the leader types get something rolling, only to have people later who have come on board decide that everyone now needs a say." Siri Macallan says, "And something I've learned is that committee planning sucks." Darci Matthews nods to Siri Macallan. Siri Macallan says, "If people want others to lead them, to get stuff going, then they need to do just that." Siri Macallan says, "And fill in the other stuff that is also needed." Darci Matthews says, "As for as ideas to get things done is concerned maybe a list can come out of what was mentioned tonight." Siri Macallan says, "So what usually ends up happening is enthusiasm peters out." Darci Matthews says, "And it can be posted by Town Hall say." Siri Macallan says, "Or "in" fighting occurs." Darci Matthews says, "Like what happened with the CMC." Siri Macallan nods to Darci Matthews. Siri Macallan says, "Or the BCC when we first tried to get things going with it." Darci Matthews nods. Siri Macallan says, "I don't think that it has to be that way." Darci Matthews says, "I would love to see stuff like that happen." Siri Macallan says, "So we, as interested participants, need to figure out what goes awry, and then work with it." Darci Matthews nods. Darci Matthews says, "I think part of it is everyone wants to be the boss and it can't be like that." Siri Macallan says, "Well, there comes a point where if an idea is good, then you stop trying to make it into something different and just run with what the proposer has in mind." Siri Macallan says, "If you want something different, then you organize it later." Darci Matthews says, "It works if you keep the original focus of what you wanted to do." Siri Macallan says, "And if you don't mind taking second seat." Darci Matthews says, "Yeah." Darci Matthews gets a distant look on her face as she ponders. Siri Macallan says, "Anyway, I think that if you have an idea, find a leader type." Siri Macallan says, "Share the idea and go for it as a team." Siri Macallan says, "Find the support you need, and run with it." Darci Matthews nods. Siri Macallan grins. Darci Matthews says, "I think I've talked enough now." Siri Macallan says, "Thanks, Darci." Siri Macallan smiles. Having finished addressing the assembly Darci Matthews sits back down. Savannah Reynolds stands up to address the assembly. Siri Macallan says, "Hi, Savannah." Siri Macallan smiles at Dimitri Savarin. Siri Macallan says, "Wrong Sav." Siri Macallan chuckles. Dimitri Savarin smiles at Siri Macallan. Siri Macallan smiles at Savannah Reynolds. Siri Macallan says, "Hmmm. Sav may be snoozing." Having finished addressing the assembly Savannah Reynolds sits back down. Jon Garfield stands up to address the assembly. Siri Macallan says, "Hi, Jon." Siri Macallan smiles. Jon Garfield says, "Hi" Jon Garfield says, "First, to clarify what Danie said that I suggested..." Jon Garfield chuckles. Jon Garfield says, "I didn't mean for everything on a menu to be unlimited, I meant just a few select items" Siri Macallan grins. Jon Garfield says, "Like a grand opening special" Jon Garfield says, "Then you'd have a motivation to RP fighting over something, maybe" Jon Garfield says, "In that specific example you mentioned" Jon Garfield says, "Also, when you were talking about how some people don't hunt accusable violent perps anymore" Siri Macallan nods to Jon Garfield. Jon Garfield says, "I think part of the problem is there's no longer an area with JUST those" Siri Macallan says, "The jury is out on that." Siri Macallan says, "Some people I know love having both in the same area." Siri Macallan says, "Some dislike it." Jon Garfield says, "and they'd be good for a change of pace, without being attacked by random thugs or something" Jon Garfield says, "Well, just have a new area with only accusables" Jon Garfield says, "Or move the thugs to somewhere else" Jon Garfield says, "and return Spanish to being accuse-only" Siri Macallan says, "Well, like I said, some like it as both, so it comes to a balance." Jon Garfield nods. Jon Garfield says, "I guess what I meant was there could be two areas, and they could pick, instead of everyone being forced into one type" Siri Macallan nods. Jon Garfield says, "And I personally never liked the jungle as much when the non-violents were added, but that's probably just me" Jon Garfield says, "They always just got in the way" Jon Garfield chuckles. Jon Garfield says, "Anyway, the next thing..." Jon Garfield says, "I've suggested this before, and I think something that would help improve the general enjoyment of things is to have them at different times, rather than so often so late at night" Jon Garfield says, "Like this forum" Jon Garfield says, "It was earlier than most recent things" Jon Garfield says, "and had a huge turnout" Jon Garfield says, "Compared to the relatively small turnout at say, the holiday charades or Pub Crawl" Jon Garfield says, "I know it's done to accomodate the west coasters" Jon Garfield says, "But it also puts east coasters at a disadvantage" Siri Macallan says, "It's also done so that the GMs who run the things can eat dinner." Jon Garfield nods. Trevor Rage grins. Jon Garfield says, "But it also defeats the purpose if the GM is there but a large portion of the players who are interested can't be there" Jon Garfield says, "I'm not saying have everything earlier either" Jon Garfield says, "Just more of a variety" Jon Garfield says, "It's just that for a while, everything was at 10 eastern, which makes it hard" Siri Macallan says, "It's hard for some, yes." Siri Macallan says, "And it's hard for some on the west coast still as well." Siri Macallan says, "So we've tried to balance it so that the most can attend." Jon Garfield nods. Siri Macallan says, "Not everyone will be pleased with a time." Jon Garfield nods. Siri Macallan says, "Even when things are scheduled differently." Jon Garfield says, "Which is why I said a variety, some people will miss some things, but they won't miss everything" Siri Macallan says, "We have people complain about merchants being on during the day because they're not around then." Jon Garfield nods. Siri Macallan says, "So, it doesn't really matter what time we pick, someone won't be happy with it." Siri Macallan smiles. Jon Garfield nods. Jon Garfield says, "Which I said I realized, and we're going in circles, so I'll move on to the next thing" Jon Garfield grins. Jon Garfield says, "When it came up about the lack of mysteries lately, Ceit mentioned three in a short period of time a while back, then there was a gap because of holiday stuff and the auction" Jon Garfield says, "Which is certainly understandable that that's a busy time" Siri Macallan asks, "Is this going to be a complaint or a suggestion?" Siri Macallan smiles at Jon Garfield. Jon Garfield says, "Suggestion" Siri Macallan says, "Beauty." Siri Macallan grins. Jon Garfield says, "But what I was thinking, when it's a relatively slow time, one of those ideas that are thought up could be stored away for the busy times" Jon Garfield says, "The characters and items could be made up and stored away" Jon Garfield says, "Then we wouldn't have a chunk of activity, followed by a chunk of inactivity" Siri Macallan says, "Jon, there is no slow time." Siri Macallan chuckles. Siri Macallan says, "I really wish there was." Siri Macallan says, "There never is a slow time." Jon Garfield says, "Well, I said relatively, meaning as far as preparing for holiday stuff" Siri Macallan says, "I haven't had "nothing" to do for four years." Jon Garfield nods. Siri Macallan says, "Before that, I worked on mysteries, or stories for you guys, or shops, or new areas, or whatever was there to do." Jon Garfield nods. Siri Macallan says, "So everything is done on a "as needed" basis." Jon Garfield nods. Trevor Rage says, "I had slack time between the time I was hired and the time I was trained." Trevor Rage chuckles. Jon Garfield begins chuckling at Trevor Rage. Trevor Rage says, "That's it, and that wasn't long." Trevor Rage grins. Siri Macallan says, "Everyone is always working on something." Siri Macallan chuckles. Jon Garfield nods. Siri Macallan says, "Always." Jon Garfield says, "I understand that" Jean Jameison just arrived. Jon Garfield says, "I just meant in that example, those three came close together, and maybe IF a situation like that arises in the future, where someone DOES have time to make several in a row, they might want to save one for when it's super busy with holiday stuff, then they could bring it out of storage, load it up, and tide the tourists over" Jon Garfield says, "I wasn't trying to say there's a time someone's just sitting around doing nothing, and I'm sorry if I implied that" Siri Macallan says, "In this case, sometimes it comes down to crummy juju with the timing fairy." Jon Garfield grins. Jon Garfield nods. Siri Macallan says, "They WERE supposed to be spread out, but for one reason or another, they got clumped." Jon Garfield says, "ahhh" Trevor Rage says, "Working on projects for a game like this is like paying the bills, Jon. You get down what you need done right this very moment, and when you're done, something else that needs doing this very minute is waiting for you." Trevor Rage grins. Jon Garfield says, "Believe me, I know, I've been there in other ways" Jon Garfield chuckles. Trevor Rage grins. Siri Macallan says, "Especially when it comes to mysteries." Jon Garfield nods. Siri Macallan says, "Demographics and personal schedules are hard to come by." Siri Macallan says, "For example..." Jon Garfield nods. Siri Macallan says, "Say we have a one nighter with five people." Siri Macallan says, "All of those people have to be available for at least four hours on the same night." Jon Garfield nods. Siri Macallan says, "While our hosts have been helping, it's often very difficult to get five staff members on at the same time for four hours during a period that *most* players will be here." Jon Garfield nods. Suzie Lewis beams happily. Trevor Rage leans on Suzie Lewis. Siri Macallan says, "So we have to take a day that works. That's why player mysteries often have much more flexibility." Jon Garfield nods. Siri Macallan says, "You guys have to fiddle with YOUR schedules." Siri Macallan grins. Jon Garfield chuckles. Siri Macallan says, "It also comes down to this ..." Siri Macallan says, "Character mysteries are faster and easier to put on." Jon Garfield says, "I think that's also why the event ones that are announced are some of the best, you guys can work it out, then we know when it'll be, then we can make arrangements too" Siri Macallan says, "But they're harder to schedule." Jon Garfield says, "Like the museum and tea house" Siri Macallan says, "Evidence mysteries can be run more times." Siri Macallan says, "But they take longer to build." Jon Garfield nods. Siri Macallan says, "It's another trade off." Jon Garfield nods. Siri Macallan says, "Something I've been wanting to ask everyone ..." Siri Macallan says, "Part of the ... hmm, fun of mysteries is stumbling over the crime scene. The discovery of it." Siri Macallan says, "We can certainly announce mysteries ... but it's always seemed to me to be lacking in mysteriousness." Siri Macallan chuckles. Siri Macallan says, "So that's something I'd like opinions on." Dimitri Savarin slips into the shadows. Siri Macallan says, "It just seems sort of weird to say, On Thursday we'll be having a murder. Do stop by." Jon Garfield chuckles. Jon Garfield says, "Maybe there could be a survey for that, like we've had for other things" Siri Macallan nods. Jon Garfield says, "Rate 1 to 10 which type you like best: one night announced, 1 or a few nights unannounced, long-term" Jon Garfield says, "Anyway, I wasn't trying to criticize about anything, just offer observations of possible ways to improve things, like the meeting was for" Jon Garfield smiles. Eve Roquelaure smiles at Jon Garfield. Siri Macallan says, "I think it's important for everyone to know how we work." Siri Macallan says, "There are a lot of folks out there that think the reason we don't have a ton going on at times is because we're simply too lazy to do it." Jon Garfield says, "And on that note, I won't bring up the last thing I was going to mention, cause I know that this late at night it'll just come out wrong anyway" Jon Garfield chuckles. Siri Macallan says, "And I'd rather everyone understands some of the limitations we have, or considerations that ideas go through before we can start working on them." Jon Garfield nods. Siri Macallan says, "I'm not a believer in keeping people in the dark." Siri Macallan grins. Siri Macallan says, "Thanks for your suggestions, Jon." Siri Macallan smiles at Jon Garfield. Jon Garfield smiles. Having finished addressing the assembly Jon Garfield sits back down. Julie Green stands up to address the assembly. Trevor Rage hides a large canvas tarp behind his back. Julie Green smiles. Siri Macallan says, "Hi, Julie." Julie Green says, "Hi there" Siri Macallan pokes Trevor Rage in the ribs. Trevor Rage grins. Julie Green says, "First off I want to say I love the new things on the island.. especially the armor bug that was fixed. Who ever did that deserves a kiss." Siri Macallan points at Trevor Rage. Trevor Rage chuckles. Julie Green giggles. Siri Macallan says, "He's the smoochable one." Trevor Rage says, "Part of da job." Julie Green says, "Also.." Julie Green says, "I think it's great that people want to organize things for ourselves. I'm glad people want to get away from the pub. I hope people ulitize different areas on the island... like the church for pot luck dinners, the university for an olympics of the mind, Madame Rosalie's for a psychic fair, direct a play at the theatre, or a fashion show at the BCC. We all know we have enough clothes to show. Might as well let someone look at them. Just brianstorm with your friends and see what you can come up with. We should start the message boards and the communicator to advertise for it." Siri Macallan grins. Julie Green just had a lot of chai latte. Julie Green says, "And.." Siri Macallan says, "I'd LOVE for the bulletin boards to start being used." Julie Green nods to Siri Macallan. Julie Green exclaims, "Me too! I always check and never see anything new.. someone send me warm fuzzies!" Julie Green says, "Oh yeah... and I'd like to see hunting change a little" Siri Macallan grins. Julie Green says, "it gets a little tiring to just attack" Trevor Rage says, "And I respond to any posts made to me directly on the boards within 24 hours or your next post is free." Trevor Rage snickers. Julie Green smiles at Trevor Rage. Siri Macallan grins. Siri Macallan says, "Trevor and I uh, discuss that a lot." Siri Macallan says, "I personally like to just type ATTACK BLAH." Siri Macallan says, "He wants variety." Julie Green says, "I want to put henchmen in a sleeper hold and search 'em" Siri Macallan says, "He'll be introducing variety." Trevor Rage says, "The new combat system has like 20 commands or something already, not that you'll be *required* to use them all if you don't want to." Julie Green says, "and I want to karate chop thugs" Julie Green exclaims, "woo hoo!" Siri Macallan chuckles. Siri Macallan says, "I'll never figure it out." Siri Macallan moans and complains bitterly and generally manages to act like the world was created specifically to inconvenience her. Trevor Rage grins at Siri Macallan. Julie Green asks, "When's that coming up?" Trevor Rage says, "Um.. in a while. Still coding and working out design details." Julie Green asks, "Can we stomp on their feet and tweak their noses?" Trevor Rage says, "It's my main project at the moment." Eve Roquelaure holds up a sign that says, "Soonish?". Julie Green giggles. Trevor Rage says, "Um.. well maybe not that, but you can do some other cool things." Trevor Rage grins. Julie Green smiles. Julie Green dances around the room. Trevor Rage says, "We can discuss that in more detail in a later forum or something." Julie Green says, "Also, as far as mysteries go... I like that they are surprise and not planned." Julie Green says, "It was cool when I found Ghent's office and when I snagged the portfolio from that political guy" Siri Macallan grins. Trevor Rage grins. Julie Green says, "but I agree with Darci on one thing" Julie Green says, "There should be a way we can share information in game" Julie Green says, "maybe a police log or something" Julie Green says, "Or weekly town hall meetings" Julie Green shrugs. Julie Green says, "That's all I'll say for now. I have more, but I know it's getting late." Trevor Rage says, "Ya know.. to interject something here.." Julie Green ducks her head. Trevor Rage says, "There's no saying a bunch of ya can't get together in town hall and hold meetings as you mentioned. If nothing's going on, make up something and RP it. Maybe you inspire some sly GM to play an idea off it. You never know. And if not, you'll have a blast RPing." Julie Green nods to Trevor Rage. Julie Green gets an impish expression on her face and lets out a hearty cheer. Trevor Rage smiles. Julie Green says, "I think 99% of this game is what we put into it" Julie Green says, "Not what the GMs do" Julie Green says, "That came out wrong" Siri Macallan says, "I've always felt that it was a 50-50 thing." Julie Green babbles incoherently. Siri Macallan grins. Trevor Rage says, "Absolutely. Everything we build is nothing more than a tool for player consumption." Julie Green nods to Siri Macallan. Siri Macallan says, "I got it." Trevor Rage grins at Siri Macallan. Julie Green says, "I mean, on a personal level" Julie Green says, "you can't have fun if you're sitting at the pub talking about how it's snowing out" Julie Green says, "so do something more" Trevor Rage grins. Julie Green shrugs. Trevor Rage smiles. Julie Green exclaims, "Oh yeah!" Julie Green says, "And you talked about player run things..." Julie Green asks, "Is there a form to be submitted to do something like that?" Siri Macallan looks to see if Julie has any more of that Chai Latte left. Silvana StoneSkye speaks into her communicator. Julie Green says, "Because some people wouldn't know where to start to put ideas together" Julie Green giggles. Julie Green says, "It's gone now" Siri Macallan says, "We have player run mystery forms." Julie Green asks, "Where do you get 'em?" Siri Macallan says, "Drop me a line." Siri Macallan grins. Julie Green says, "okay" Julie Green says, "Maybe we can put that in the news" Julie Green says, "so people know" Julie Green says, "I love that news thing. I check it every time" Siri Macallan says, "I can see if we can get it added to the Modus download library, but my last two requests haven't gone in yet." Julie Green nods to Siri Macallan. Siri Macallan nods to Julie Green. Julie Green smiles. Julie Green says, "I'll stop talking now." Julie Green giggles. Siri Macallan grins. Siri Macallan says, "Thanks for the suggestions and enthusiasm." Julie Green shuts her caffiene induced mouth. Siri Macallan beams happily at Julie Green. Julie Green says, "Welcome" Julie Green giggles. Trevor Rage chuckles. Having finished addressing the assembly Julie Green sits back down. Bryan Hit stands up to address the assembly. Siri Macallan says, "Hi, Bryan. " Siri Macallan smiles. Bryan Hit says, "hey ya Siri" Bryan Hit grins. Bryan Hit says, "first thing i want to say is that i am real excited for the new changes to the skills, and the combat" Bryan Hit says, "i think it will really urge many of us to grow as players" Siri Macallan smiles. Bryan Hit says, "and to be a little more than we have been" Bryan Hit grins. Bryan Hit finds some of that caffine. Bryan Hit takes a deep breath. Bryan Hit asks, "i wanted to expand upon Esme's mention of all of us being able to do more to help newer players. i know i mentioned in Feedback, once to you, and also on the board about possibly having a Big Brother/Big Sister organization. i know there are some here who are not really wanting to be Island Guides, or can't be Guides for whatever reasons, and may benefit from a club of this kind. i wanted to start it, and i just wanted to mention it again, because if others are interesed in helping new tourists out more, and taking them under their wing, then there is use for such a club. it would also help out the Island Guides and other MO staff. i'd love to see it be an actual club. Sooo, my question for you is, to make a club like this happen, what would i or anyone else need to do to make it a reality?" Bryan pants. Bryan Hit asks, "quick acting caffine, huh?" Bryan Hit snickers. Trevor Rage grins at Bryan Hit. Siri Macallan asks, "My question, for making something like that a club, is how is it different than being a Guide?" Siri Macallan asks, "Besides not being a guide?" Bryan Hit says, "it's taking on another who is the same profession as you may be, and teaching them, showing them things, giving them RP idea to bounce off from, etc." Bryan Hit says, "Guides tend to be open to all professions, where a big brother or sister would be more profession intensive" Siri Macallan says, "We're planning on having over 50 different professions." Siri Macallan says, "At least I think we are." Bryan Hit says, "and the Guides could also help along in the effort by introducing newer players to others with the same profession, or a like profession" Trevor Rage says, "Yes, we are." Trevor Rage nods. Siri Macallan says, "So professions are going to be much more specialized." Bryan Hit says, "with 50 different professions, there will be others who can take in other professions similar to what they currently are" Siri Macallan says, "And people may end up being a variety of professions over their character's life." Bryan Hit says, "some professions would be more hunting oriented, some mystery oriented, others may gear toward another area" Bryan Hit says, "the goal is to fin another player to be a newbies "first friend"" Siri Macallan says, "That's what we hope the Guides will do." Siri Macallan chuckles. Bryan Hit says, "someone they can go to to learn from, admire, and hang around with" Bryan Hit says, "yes, but the Guides are not always there. and like i said, not everyone can be a guide for whatever reasons" Siri Macallan says, "If they're not able to actually help the player, they have the option of asking another of the group to take the person on, or to get on the comm and call for help from the rest of the island." Siri Macallan says, "That's not to say that people can't still meet new players just on their own." Siri Macallan says, "One of the purposes of Clubs is that it offers something to the community that the community can't get from other sources." Siri Macallan says, "Even if that community is a limited one, by choice of the forming membership." Bryan Hit says, "so what you are saying is that the idea wouldn't work" Siri Macallan says, "I'm saying that we have something in place that is similar in function, if not precisely, and I'd rather make what is already in place work for as many people as possible." Siri Macallan says, "Instead of duplicating efforts." Siri Macallan smiles at Bryan Hit. Bryan Hit says, "i have to confess that the Guides are not totally capable of fulfilling the things i just mentioned. or at least i do not feel they do. though they do try, and they do menage to do a wonderful job of what they have already been accomplishing" Siri Macallan says, "Then maybe it's a question of having more guides on hand." Bryan Hit says, "i'm just feeling that there is room for a more specialized club, group or whatever." Siri Macallan nods. Bryan Hit says, "and yes, there should be more guides on hand" Siri Macallan asks, "I guess my question is why does something like that need to be a club?" Bryan Hit says, "as a unity factor. a place to belong" Bryan Hit says, "you may feel we have that here, but believe me, there is something lacking in that area" Siri Macallan says, "Then I guess it would come down to finding out from the individuals why they wouldn't either A) want to do it on their own, or B) join the guides." Siri Macallan says, "Places don't bring unity, Bryan." Siri Macallan says, "We saw that in spades with the CMC." Bryan Hit says, "and with more changes, new faces, and maybe more of an island population, i think it may be wise to say that letting any new arrival slip through the cracks is a loss" Siri Macallan says, "I agree. I'm delighted that people want to go down to the docks and say greetings! to the new folks, and lend them a hand." Bryan Hit says, "i'm not saying that is a constant occurance, it's just how i feel" Bryan Hit says, "if it's something that won't fly, that's okay, but for those who cannot be guides, it would be nice to be able to be a part of something that helps people....and not be an individual trying to "do good."" Bryan Hit says, "sometimes, you don't go and take the initative when you feel alone" Siri Macallan says, "Sometimes people don't take the initiative when there is a big white boat." Siri Macallan smiles. Bryan Hit says, "i'll move on to another subject here." Bryan Hit asks, "and i have one suggestion to give. when the buses were gone, that kind of took away some of the atmosphere of the town. is it possible that there could be something to bring back that atmosphere?" Bryan Hit asks, "maybe atmosphere messages of some kind that reflect a busy Morada in the day time, and a partying Morada at night?" Bryan Hit asks, "or something to that effect?" Siri Macallan says, "There can certianly be more atmostpheric messages specific to the various areas." Siri Macallan says, "The room descriptions supposedly do that too." Siri Macallan grins. Bryan Hit asks, "maybe something that makes it look more touristy?" Bryan Hit grins. Siri Macallan asks, "Maybe you all should change to Hawaiian shirts?" Siri Macallan bites her lip. Bryan Hit says, "i'm thinking about how a lot of tourist meccas seem when you visit them. busy, bustling, and with an aire of excitement" Bryan Hit grins at Siri Macallan. Siri Macallan says, "I'd like to see more atmospheric messages all over the place." Bryan Hit asks, "Hawaiian shirts?" Bryan Hit shudders. Siri Macallan says, "It just takes time." Bryan Hit grins. Siri Macallan opens the floor back up for general discussion. Siri Macallan says, "Ack." Bryan Hit says, "whoops" Siri Macallan says, "Didn't mean to do that." Bryan Hit grins at Siri Macallan. Siri Macallan whistles a cheerful tune. Miranda Myles says, "Hula skirts" Siri Macallan calls the assembly to order. After a moment the crowd quiets down. Siri Macallan grins. Bryan Hit stands up to address the assembly. Bryan Hit chuckles. Bryan Hit asks, "have you had plans for more messaging like that kind for the future?" Siri Macallan says, "It's not high priority, but there's always "improvements" to existing areas planned." Bryan Hit says, "oh yeah, and a thing about the Perp Invasions. i'd love to see more of them. there's just something exciting about the complete panic they cause" Bryan Hit grins at Trevor Rage. Siri Macallan chuckles. Siri Macallan says, "See, some people love 'em, and some hate 'em." Bryan Hit exclaims, "makes ya feel like Superman flying to the rescue!" Trevor Rage grins. Eve Roquelaure holds up a sign that says, "Merchant!". Bryan Hit grins at Eve Roquelaure. Bryan Hit says, "well, that does it, too" Eve Roquelaure grins at Bryan Hit. Bryan Hit says, "okay. i'm done" Bryan Hit grins. Siri Macallan says, "Thanks, Bryan." Bryan Hit sits down. Siri Macallan smiles. Bryan Hit says, "no prob" Having finished addressing the assembly Bryan Hit sits back down. Savannah Reynolds stands up to address the assembly. Savannah Reynolds smiles. Siri Macallan says, "After Sav, I'm going to open the floor up." Savannah Reynolds says, "Glad you made it here, Siri." Siri Macallan exclaims, "Man, so am I!!" Savannah Reynolds says, "I hope that when you open the floor for general discussion, that we will hear of any obstacles to allowing players to run mysteries or other Events. Guides try to work without asking much from the GMs, but anyone should be able to run an Event." Siri Macallan says, "Depends on the event, and if anything else is previously scheduled." Eve Roquelaure says, "Amen to that." Siri Macallan says, "Event is a broad term." Siri Macallan grins. Savannah Reynolds says, "That's what I wanted to add. We would like to see more player run activities, and we could give some advice." Savannah Reynolds says, "And we want more Guides, please." Savannah Reynolds smiles. Savannah Reynolds sits down. Siri Macallan exclaims, "So everyone write to Jackson!" Siri Macallan opens the floor back up for general discussion. Siri Macallan says, "As far as mysteries go ..." Danie Roberts says, "I think the major obstacle is publicity." Danie Roberts says, "Oops." Savannah Reynolds begins chuckling at Kim Canella. Danie Roberts grins. Savannah Reynolds nods to Danie Roberts. Zackary Santos offers a double chai latte to Siri Macallan. Savannah Reynolds says, "We use the boards, and the comm, Danie" Kim Canella says, "You can send in a form for publicity" Siri Macallan says, "The only things that stop players from running it is that they DO need to be cleared by me, or the Mystery Liaison (yet to be named) in advance." Danie Roberts asks, "Really, a form?" Siri Macallan accepts a double chai latte from Zackary Santos. Siri Macallan beams happily at Zackary Santos. Danie Roberts says, "I mean for informal word games and such." Esmeralda Beaujolais laughs! Zackary Santos nods to Siri Macallan. Kim Canella says, "And we usually just grumble on the comm" Julie Green says, "I think that the major obstacle with mysteries is people not sharing." Eve Roquelaure looks around the room. Siri Macallan says, "That's a different problem." Savannah Reynolds says, "Maybe Eve would let us wear her signs for publicity." Siri Macallan says, "And I can see both sides of the issue." Jean Jameison says, "that's an old complaint" Julie Green giggles. Savannah Reynolds hungrily eyes the cardboard and markers. Savannah Reynolds raises an eyebrow in Eve Roquelaure's direction. Amanda Hunter says, "Oh Eve! I loved that you hung out at the Casino! I wish I could have made it there! I think thats a neat thing for you guys to do." Kim Canella says, "Sharing we cannot fix...notification can be made" Eve Roquelaure says, "These are to save my throat, since I don't get delivered lattes." Jess Whiterose grins at Amanda Hunter. Eve Roquelaure smiles sweetly. Savannah Reynolds giggles. Esmeralda Beaujolais chuckles. Danie Roberts offers a double chai latte to Eve Roquelaure. Danie Roberts coughs. Kim Canella pats Eve on the back. Amanda Hunter hums a tune softly to herself. Savannah Reynolds laughs! Esmeralda Beaujolais lets out a hearty cheer for Danie Roberts. Eve Roquelaure chuckles. Savannah Reynolds applauds. Eve Roquelaure accepts a double chai latte from Danie Roberts. Kim Canella pokes Zackary Santos in the ribs. Eve Roquelaure says, "Thanks, Danie." Savannah Reynolds says, "Ask, and you shall." Siri Macallan says, "As far as mysteries go, I have to make sure that they adhere to previous storylines (if that's an issue), and known technologies, etc." Zackary Santos grins. Julie Green giggles. Siri Macallan says, "Every mystery that is run, player or GM type, goes into the Modus Canon." Kim Canella exclaims, "Danie beat you to Eve's latte, Zack!" Siri Macallan says, "So to speak." Siri Macallan says, "So everything really does have to fit in." Kim Canella pats Zackary on the back. Danie Roberts gets a herbal laxative from inside her beach bag. Danie Roberts offers a herbal laxative to Esmeralda Beaujolais. Savannah Reynolds snickers. Esmeralda Beaujolais cackles gleefully. Esmeralda Beaujolais has declined Danie Roberts's offer. Danie Roberts harumphs grumpily. Julie Green giggles at Danie Roberts. Savannah Reynolds asks, "Is that the same one with the bear?" Savannah Reynolds winks at Siri Macallan. Siri Macallan says, "As far as events go, the thing we check for mostly is timing, and what is needed from the GMs." Zackary Santos smiles at Kim Canella. Siri Macallan pokes Savannah Reynolds in the ribs. Savannah Reynolds giggles. Julie Green giggles. Kim Canella says, "Just a note..on events......." Kim Canella says, "Guides do some events" Eve Roquelaure asks, "How about if I wanted my character to hire someone to find something she lost, so I hid something somewhere, RP'd finding someone to take on the job, then rewarded them?" Julie Green smiles at Eve Roquelaure. Eve Roquelaure says, "That wouldn't require GM help at all." Kim Canella says, "We have to send in forms way way in advance" Miranda Myles says, "Good idea there, Eve." Bryan Hit says, "hmmmm. but where to hide it that the janirot won't pick it up" Savannah Reynolds agrees with Kim Canella. Bryan Hit says, "er janitor" Julie Green nods to Bryan Hit. Eve Roquelaure says, "Research." Eve Roquelaure smiles. Miranda Myles says, "Good thought there too, Bryan" Bryan Hit grins at Eve Roquelaure. Kim Canella says, "Even for no God or Goddess help..we send them in at least two months before" Bryan Hit says, "that word screams for a sign" Bryan Hit grins at Eve Roquelaure. Eve Roquelaure says, "I resisted it, I admit." Bryan Hit chuckles. Eve Roquelaure grins. Siri Macallan asks, "Can I ask why people don't use the BBs?" Kim Canella grins at Siri Macallan. Esmeralda Beaujolais holds up a sign saying "Eve, where are your signs?" Julie Green says, "I don't because no one looks at them" Siri Macallan says, "They're there ... they're free ... they get info to interested parties fast." Eve Roquelaure exclaims, "I look at em!" Bryan Hit says, "i check them about once a week" Siri Macallan asks, "So ... how does that change, Julie?" Miranda Myles says, "Personally for me, it just takes too long for me to access them. My machine is slow. No other reason." Amanda Hunter asks, "are these the ones on the simutronics page?" Julie Green says, "Hmm" Siri Macallan nods to Amanda Hunter. Ichiko Daiumi says, "They're Java-based" Darci Matthews says, "I kinda don't like that my account name is up there." Julie Green nods to Darci Matthews. Kim Canella says, "Not anymore Ichiko" Siri Macallan says, "They're web based now." Esmeralda Beaujolais says, "They're HTML now, I think" Savannah Reynolds gets a distant look on her face as she ponders. Siri Macallan nods. Jess Whiterose says, "I read the boards and so do lots of folks, I don't post on them unless I have a reason, the java based boards were gone like last year" Bryan Hit says, "i'd like to be able to post without the account n
