_________________________________________ / -Mentors Forum- \ | -June 2, 1999- | | Recorded by Danie Roberts | | Edited by ??? | \___http://pages.prodigy.net/aubreymcm/___/ This log was taken by Danie Roberts. Edited by moi. Just to let you know I edited out a lot of the movements in the room. The tour of the house is pretty basice. So I was wondering if anyone else had any notes on it? I'd like to see more! Jackson Shepard exclaims, "Hello, everyone. Thank you for coming!" Jackson Shepard says, "We are almost ready to start, so if any of you have friends that are elsewhere. Let then know." Ceit Galbraith says, "If everyone can maintain things in a really quiet manner, we'll try doing things without silencing...but we reserve the right to quiet things down." Jackson Shepard says, "What we are going to discuss tonight is the Mentor System that will soon be coming to our fair island." Jackson Shepard says, "If you will all settle, I think we are ready to begin." Jackson Shepard says, "I am going to say a few words about the new system and then we will open things up for Q&A." Jackson Shepard says, "Please hold your questions until then." Jackson Shepard says, "Thanks again for your interest and the applications and application requests I have recieved in the last week." Jackson Shepard says, "As some of you know, Mentors already exist in other Simutrtonics games." Jackson Shepard says, "Mentors are basically a group of players that serve to inhance RP and teach newcomers to the various games." Jackson Shepard says, "They are not employees of Simutronics and they are required to operate totally IC at all times, except in the new OOC area of course." Jackson Shepard says, "One of the reasons we have the new OOC area, The Reality Cafe', is to keep pure RPers from being bombarded by OOCness as much." Jackson Shepard says, "Especially in such areas like The Pub, where quite often a newcomer will meet his first fellow tourist." Jackson Shepard says, "Mentors will help to show the newcomers that this is indeed a RPing game and not just a chat room." Jackson Shepard says, "Mentors will be referred to as Island Guides." Jackson Shepard says, "New Island Guides will be referred to as Island Guide Trainees and will require a training period to become "full" Island Guides." Jackson Shepard says, "The training period is a probation period to make sure the person is indeed capable of handling the requirements and responsibilities of being an Island Guide." Jackson Shepard says, "Being an Island Guide is not a full time job, however." Jackson Shepard says, "Guides are volunteers that help when they can. The minimum amount of time they must serve will be ten hours a month." Jackson Shepard says, "While they are on the clock, they will be recognizable with a badge." Jackson Shepard shows a small photo ID badge to you. This security photo ID reads "Jackson Shepard, Certified Island Guide" beside a handsome photo of Jackson. Malcolm Edwards raises his hand...again. Jackson Shepard says, "Please keep you questions until I am finished... again." Jackson Shepard says, "Guides will also help organize events." Jackson Shepard says, "They will be required to donate or raise money to sponser such events however." Jackson Shepard says, "Guides get nothing for free, they do not get paid. They do not get exclusive merchants, etc." Samson Spade says, "almost sounds like a PI" Jackson Shepard says, "The badge is only to allow newcomers to see that the person helping them has been trained to do so." Jackson Shepard says, "As we mentioned earlier, Guides will have a Headquarters to work from." Jackson Shepard says, "This is only a cottage to allow those in need to find help more easily as you will see later." Jackson Shepard says, "It is not a locker storage area, or any other type of "special" area. It only gives newcomers an easy place to find aid." Jackson Shepard asks, "Anything you would like to add to that, Ceit?" Jackson Shepard smiles at Ceit Galbraith. Ceit Galbraith says, "Not yet, nope" Jackson Shepard says, "Alrighy even." Armand Chascour raises his hand. Jackson Shepard says, "Now that I have made becoming a Guide so attractive, we'll open the floor up for questions." Beckah Arnett raises her hand. Amanda Blair raises her hand. Jackson Shepard asks, "Armand?" Remi MacGregor raises her hand. Ceit Galbraith says, "I'll try to keep track" Armand Chascour says, "ah, are guides gonna hafta go into combat areas? because if so I suggest some Island Guide BP" Jackson Shepard says, "Required no, if your specialty is being a teacher. I would expect you to help teach, not help newcomers to hunt." Jackson Shepard asks, "Anything else Armand?" Armand Chascour says, "ah" Armand Chascour says, "just about us paying for events" Armand Chascour asks, "are those events we think up, or is Trevor going to send us out to pay for his ideas?" Jackson Shepard asks, "Sure. In general? Or something more specific?" Armand Chascour thinks of a Cecil B Demille bible flick. Jackson Shepard says, "They will be handled like you would any other event, be it a Class Reunion or a 50th wedding anniversary. It will just be more island vacation oriented." Armand Chascour says, "ok" Jackson Shepard says, "You come up with what you need, find out how much it will cost, and go from there." Armand Chascour says, "that's all from me then" Jackson Shepard says, "Thank you, Armand." Ceit Galbraith says, "By paying, Jackson meant that there is a mentor fund, a bank account. The donations that others provide are the funds mentors can use toward events." Ami Stuart says, "like the CMC I take it" Ceit Galbraith nods to Ami Stuart. Jackson Shepard says, "And you don't have to be a Guide to donate items." Jackson Shepard says, "We will show you that during the Tour." Ceit Galbraith asks, "Malcolm?" Malcolm Edwards says, "Okay..." Malcolm Edwards asks, "What, ah , requirments are there going to be for an application?" Malcolm Edwards taps his level one label. Jackson Shepard says, "Minimum 15th level, a willingness to help others..." Malcolm Edwards says, "Fifteenth..." Malcolm Edwards says, "Sounds fair." Jackson Shepard says, "Demonstration of excellent RP skills, a write up of you character's history..." Malcolm Edwards says, "Okay also, I don't want to pick apart your whole system here but..." Malcolm Edwards spreads hands. Malcolm Edwards says, "Sorry, go on." Jackson Shepard says, "A great amount of patience and good people skills in general..." Jackson Shepard says, "And NO official warnings in ANY Simutronics game." Malcolm Edwards says, "Ah crap." Malcolm Edwards asks, "Is that...it?" Jackson Shepard says, "Some of you have already sent in some very nice character profiles." Jackson Shepard says, "I thank you for them. They were a pleasure to read." Malcolm Edwards says, "'Cause I've a whole bag of them here, I can go all night." Jackson Shepard says, "They will be archived in the Library for all to see in the future. So others can see what a good job can be done on writing a background for your character." Jackson Shepard says, "Hopefully they will inspire others to do the same." Jackson Shepard says, "How about just the one you most want to ask, Malcom." Jackson Shepard says, "One more." Malcolm Edwards says, "Two more, if you don't mind." Ceit Galbraith says, "As far as warnings, if you've been clean for six months, you can be considered. If you share your account with someone else, or share your password, you couldn't be a mentor." Malcolm Edwards says, "It'll be worth it." Malcolm Edwards says, "Trust me." Jackson Shepard says, "Ask the first and we'll see." Malcolm Edwards asks, "I don't mean to tear apart your whole system here but is there any chance of a name change on the 'island guide' title?" Malcolm Edwards says, "I mean...come on..." Jackson Shepard says, "If you can think of a more appropriate name, we are always open to suggestions." Malcolm Edwards says, "I'll put my thinking cap on." Jackson Shepard says, "Many things on the island come from such suggestions." Ferd Berfel asks, "Maybe something along the lines of "Tours 'R us"??" Malcolm Edwards says, "Well..." Malcolm Edwards says, "Last one." Jackson Shepard says, "Quickly Malcolm Malcolm Edwards says, "I think I speak for everyone here when I say that we'd all like to see that sweet mugshot on your badge Jackson." Ceit Galbraith asks, "Beckah?" Beckah Arnett says, "Okay how long is training " Zoe Wilder asks, "Malcolm, I think we'd really like to get everyones serious questions answered - if you don't mind?" Jackson Shepard asks, "Is that your question?" Malcolm Edwards nods. Malcolm Edwards says, "Yep." Jackson Shepard shows a small photo ID badge to you. This security photo ID reads "Jackson Shepard, Certified Island Guide" beside a handsome photo of Jackson. Jackson Shepard asks, "Alright, who's next?" Ceit Galbraith says, "Beckah...and she asked how long training is." Jackson Shepard says, "Training in the other games is a minimum thirty days." Jackson Shepard says, "It should be comparable to that here when we get everything up and running smoothly." Beckah Arnett asks, "Okay, last one. Are you sure it has to be level 15, why not level 10?" Jackson Shepard says, "The other games have a minimum level requiment that would compare to Level 15 here." Beckah Arnett says, "I know but some of the most qualfied people i know arent at that level" Jackson Shepard says, "We want to make sure our Mentors stick the the standard established in other games." Beckah Arnett says, "okay" Jackson Shepard says, "Now they have another goal to achieve." Ceit Galbraith asks, "Amanda?" Amanda Blair asks, "How is training conducted, and the 10 hours per month logged or monitored?" Trevor Rage says, "It's like the 50th level requirement for a house, Beckah. You may be the best RPer in the whole game, and contribute your hide off.. but some rules stay the same." Jackson Shepard says, "Training will be conducted mainly by "full" island guides and myself." Amanda Blair asks, "At certain hours?" Jackson Shepard says, "Much like a rookie cop accompanying a veteran cop on a beat." Jackson Shepard says, "Guides get to set their own hours for the most part." Amanda Blair asks, "Can we have logs or something to keep track?" Jackson Shepard says, "They are volunteers, and as such, they don't have to work from 8 to 5 every Monday, etc." Jackson Shepard says, "Mentors have a very detailed website that keeps track of events and such things." Ceit Galbraith says, "You'll be able to tell how much time you've been mentoring each month." Jackson Shepard asks, "Is that what you mean Amanda?" Amanda Blair says, "Ahh, thanks. That will be great." Amanda Blair says, "Yes, Jackson." Ceit Galbraith says, "I think Remi is next." Jackson Shepard says, "mentors.play.net" Jackson Shepard says, "You can see what other Mentor Societies have done there." Jackson Shepard asks, "Remi?" Ceit Galbraith says, "Maybe Remi is in a daze." Ceit Galbraith says, "How about we go to Sara and we can come back to Remi." Sara McGyver says, "sounds good to me." Sara McGyver asks, "Just so I know a little more about the selection process, will there be certain spots for guys and certain spots designated for girls? Or will people be selected by just how good they seem?" Jackson Shepard says, "No discriminations here." Sara McGyver laughs! Sara McGyver says, "I didn't mean discriminations.. I meant, maybe you'd chose different people who had different professions.." Jackson Shepard says, "Except for good RPers and good profiles, etc." Jackson Shepard says, "I should say, no gender discriminations here." Amanda Blair says, "A bit of balance might be a good thing, though." Jackson Shepard says, "No, we are more interested in good RPers, not a combat teacher, a reporter, a "teach" teahcer, etc." Sara McGyver says, "Yea, because everyone knows how girls are more capable.. it would seem weird to have them all be women." Ceit Galbraith asks, "Taking notes, gentlemen?" . Zoe Wilder says, "Ohhh, I like her..." Sara McGyver says, "sorry, it needed to be said at some point.." Sara McGyver says, "we were all thinking it." Jackson Shepard says, "I have recieved more profiles and requests from women. You may have a point there, Sara." Matt Metus asks, "can you still help if you aren't level 15?" Jackson Shepard asks, "Take that as a challenge gentlemen. We can't be shown up, can we?" Sara McGyver says, "I'll stop stirring up trouble now." Bryan Hit asks, "when were we ever?" Samson Spade says, "not hardly" Malcolm Edwards says, "Don't worry they'll get tired of it after a few minutes and then we can pick it up as usual." Jackson Shepard says, "Sure, anyone can help. You just can't be a Mentor until you are level 15." Trevor Rage says, "You're going to get mauled after the forum, Malcolm." Malcolm Edwards says, "Yeah, I know Trevor." Ceit Galbraith says, "Ferd? I think you're next." Ferd Berfel says, "Lets say that a really good looking and charming coroner wanted to become a guide. Is the training time flexible? Coroners are on call most of the time for emergencies and such, especially this really suave one I know who may be interested, but is available mainly in late evening." Ferd Berfel says, "And not any female coroners" Matt Metus asks, "well, when you are a mentor, can you be promoted to GameMaster or GameHost, etc.?" Jackson Shepard nods to Ferd Berfel. Jackson Shepard says, "We hope to have training available at various times, yes." Ceit Galbraith says, "And being a mentor wouldn't result in a person being unable to become a Host or GM." Ceit Galbraith asks, "Samson?" Samson Spade says, "When we are Punching your clock, Cheef are we free to roam?.." Jackson Shepard says, "Thank you, Ceit. I missed that question. Sorry about that, Matt." Samson Spade asks, "or do we stay in the hut?" Jackson Shepard says, "You spend your mentoring time in the house waiting to help, or helping a newcomer." Ceit Galbraith asks, "Remi, I believe you had a question?" Samson Spade says, "Thanks, thats about it..I will lick that stamp and send the papers in" Remi MacGregor says, "Eh, yeah. More of a suggestion question." Remi MacGregor asks, "Since we're in chained to the hut, can we get free food in there?" Jackson Shepard says, "We wouldn't want our guides to starve." Sara McGyver says, "what an excuse to put on a couple of pounds." Remi MacGregor says, "May I suggest cheesecake, with strawberry topping, and lots of chocolate." Ceit Galbraith says, "Bryan, you're up next" Remi MacGregor says, "and drinks." Trevor Rage says, "A gang of blasted mentors.. lot of help YOU'D be." Malcolm Edwards says, "Lots of drinks." Remi MacGregor says, "Non-alcoholic if the powers that are prefer." Ceit Galbraith says, "Bryan, you're up next" Bryan Hit nods to Ceit Galbraith. Bryan Hit asks, "how are the mentors to know when a newcomer needs help? Will the newcommer be told about the hut or will the mentor be told about the newcommer?" Ami Stuart says, "How about putting the hut near the arrival pier" Samson Spade says, "yeah" Samson Spade says, "good call" Jackson Shepard says, "Good question, Bryan. Good suggestion, Ami." You ask, "Or a verb that will send you right there?" Jackson Shepard says, "The mentor house is near the pier, and newcomers can ring the doorbell to request help." Bryan Hit asks, "Kind of like the building where mentors are in Genstone, yes?" Jackson Shepard says, "Just like that, yes." Armand Chascour says, "ooh, or a tour cart that rolls round the terminal...get on board and whir on over" Sara McGyver says, "don't get carried away or anything, Armand." Ceit Galbraith asks, "Gem?" Jackson Shepard says, "Except our is the Tourist Information Center, as you will soon see." Ceit Galbraith asks, "Before Gem...is there anyone I missed?" Bryan Hit says, "I think it could be good to let them know the hut's there for them. some kind of script that rolls with the introtuction" Gem Mejia asks, "Can you give us an idea of what sort of events Island Guides will be able to plan? Will they only be for new tourists?" Gem Mejia says, "Oops, sorry." Ceit Galbraith says, "S'okay, I think I got everyone." Bryan Hit says, "No, it's okay, Gem. Go ahead" Bryan Hit says, "I was done" Gem Mejia asks, "Shall I repeat, or did everyone hear the question?" Jackson Shepard says, "Events will be limited only by funds, imagination, and reasonablity." Jackson Shepard says, "No Time Travel to ancient Egypt events. Too expensive." Jackson Shepard says, "They do not have to be newcomer-only." Ceit Galbraith asks, "John?" John Edmiston asks, "What is this "too expensive", you are telling me, even the gods can't get things for free?" Jackson Shepard says, "Mentors aren't 'gods'. Everything they do is totally IC." John Edmiston asks, "I understand that, but you are saying that everything the mentors plan, the Gms don't help set up?" Jackson Shepard says, "Think of it as being like a player mystery. The less help you ask for, the more likely the event will happen." John Edmiston says, "ok" Ceit Galbraith says, "Ami's next." Jackson Shepard says, "Mentor events elsewhere include dancing contests, fishing contests, etc." Jackson Shepard says, "To give you an idea." Ami Stuart asks, "When will Mentor's be showing up on the Isle?" Jackson Shepard exclaims, "As soon as humanly possible!" Jackson Shepard chuckles. Malcolm Edwards says, "I'm responding now." Jackson Shepard says, "Seriously though, if I continue to get good applications. I hope within a month or so." Ceit Galbraith asks, "Armand?" Armand Chascour asks, "this may be more of a question for the training session, but are we supposed to guide IC?" Ceit Galbraith nods to Armand Chascour. Armand Chascour says, "so many say things like "this is like DR!"" Armand Chascour says, "I mean, newbies I help out now" Jackson Shepard says, "The deadline to have applications in for the first wave of mentor trainees will be June 18th." Jackson Shepard says, "Guides must be IC at all times while mentoring." Armand Chascour asks, "oh...and can we earn noto while guiding?" Jackson Shepard says, "If you want to go to the Reality Cafe' to discuss OOC that's fine. But it's off the clock." Jackson Shepard says, "Learning ways to become more IC will be part of the training itself." Ceit Galbraith asks, "Are there any other questions before y'all get a sneak preview of the mentor hangout?" Armand Chascour raises his hand. Ami Stuart asks, "oooh we get a sneak preview?" Armand Chascour says, "just one more" Jackson Shepard says, "The phrase, "Welcome to Modus! I'm a Mentor!" would be OOC, "Hello, welcome to Morada!" would be IC." Trevor Rage asks, "Was Armand's question about earning noto/skills while on duty answered?" Jackson Shepard asks, "See how easy that is?" Jackson Shepard says, "Mentors do not get any benefits of noto or cash. Only what would normally be earned in the game." Armand Chascour asks, "but we could teach in the game?" Armand Chascour says, "I mean while guiding" Trevor Rage says, "I think he means, are they allowed to teach while sitting idle, etc." Jackson Shepard says, "If you are in 'teach' mode and mentor mode at the same time, and it was completely IC. You would still get noto regularly." Jackson Shepard says, "Same with combat, etc." Armand Chascour says, "oh and my last bit...could we get a title like Guide...so that others know not to mess with us" Jackson Shepard says, "Actually, in some ways. You will be messed with more with a title." Jackson Shepard taps a small photo ID badge. Jackson Shepard says, "Dealing withh that is part of the job." Ceit Galbraith asks, "Any other questions?" Ceit Galbraith asks, "Remi?" Remi MacGregor asks, "So, do we get the free food in the hut?" Jackson Shepard says, "Also, I would like to mention that we aren't giving newcomers a free ride here either." Jackson Shepard says, "Mentors wil *not* solve mysteries for newcomers, show them through the maze, etc." Jackson Shepard says, "Or if they do, it will only happen once. In Mentor mode or out." Jackson Shepard says, "Food will be made available in the Mentor House." Ceit Galbraith says, "Fred's next" Jackson Shepard says, "But it isn't free, you are earning it by doing a mentor's duties." Fred Cawt asks, "My turn?" Fred Cawt asks, "Would having any programming experience be of use as an Island Guide?" Jackson Shepard says, "Guides are strictly IC, so if they are RPing a programmer, then yes. Otherwise no." Ceit Galbraith asks, "Any other questions?" Jackson Shepard says, "Guides do not deal with anything technical in the game at all." Jackson Shepard says, "That is where Hosts and GMs come in." Ceit Galbraith says, "That's it on the questions, Jackson." Jackson Shepard says, "Alright, a few things in closing before we head to the tour." Luca Brazzi says, "a slightly unrelated question" Jackson Shepard says, "Send requests for applications to mo-jackson@play.net" Luca Brazzi says, "any way we can toggle the titles" Ami Stuart asks, "toggle?" Luca Brazzi says, "this room fills up my whole screen" Luca Brazzi says, "I hate em" Sara McGyver says, "it's all Trevor." Jackson Shepard says, "mentors.play.net is the official Simutronics website for all Mentors, and Modus' section should be up soon." Jon Garfield says, "I happen to like Trevor's title" Bobby Stuart asks, "Will there be a dartboard in the House in case Mentors get bored waiting?" Ami Stuart says, "yeah but its soooo long" Trevor Rage says, "That's not really something we can do to be honest. You can turn off viewing of your own title, but not viewing other's." Jackson Shepard says, "Deadline for applications to be accepted for the first wave of mentors will be June 18th, day before the Fair." Trevor Rage says, "Hey, they can be up to 128 characters. I used much less." Bryan Hit says, "Wish Sleuths didn;t have to lok forward to Hawkshaw for level 60 title" Bryan Hit exclaims, "I don;t even know what that is!" Armand Chascour exclaims, "I told you!!" Jackson Shepard says, "After that, you will still be considered for becoming a Guide, just not the first group." Bryan Hit exclaims, "not well enough!" Kara McLoud says, "You should add jungle bug exterminator." Armand Chascour says, "its a dick, a tec, a shamus, a wisenheimer" Jackson Shepard asks, "And I think that's everything. Shall we start the tour of the Mentor House?" [New Marina, Beach] The moonlight shines down on the pale sand that stretches out on both sides of you, and the water laps softly on the sand before rolling back out into the sea. The water shimmers in the moonlight, and the sound of the waves is loud in the otherwise quiet night. A small cottage, with a foundation of large rocks, is set back near the edge of the sand dune. You also see a door bell, a large donation slot in the side of the cottage and the front door. Obvious paths: west, up. Jackson Shepard points at a large donation slot in the side of the cottage. Brian Indiana just rang the doorbell. A butler sticks his head out the door and has a word with Brian Indiana. Jackson Shepard says, "This is where islanders can donate items and cash for Guide sponsered events." Ami Stuart says, "bye bye Sasha's cool cottage" Jackson Shepard says, "This is the bell newcomers can ring for help." Zoe Wilder says, "Hello, cool mentor cottage" Armand Chascour asks, "does Jarvis hire out to tourist homes?" Jackson Shepard just rang the doorbell. Jarvis the butler leans out the door, glances at Jackson Shepard nervously and exclaims, "Oh my, why are YOU here? I hope this doesn't mean you are going to fire me!" Jackson Shepard says, "Now Jarvis, I just hired you. Don't be so nervous." Assistant GameMaster Jackson Shepard's group went through the front door. [Johnston Tourist Information Center, Lounge] Overstuffed couches and big comfortable chairs are scattered throughout the room. Moonlight spills through an open window. Tropical night air fills the room. A tall bookshelf stands in a corner, holding some knick-knacks and some old leather books. Tracked-in sand is thick near the front doorway, and spreads out over the rug. You also see a large pillow, an archway leading to a meeting room, an iron spiral staircase leading up to the loft and a pine door. Obvious exits: east, west, out. GameMaster and Infernal Troublemaker Supreme Trevor Rage just arrived. GameMaster Ceit Galbraith's group just arrived. Remi MacGregor asks, "Who's Johnston?" Jackson Shepard says, "This small cottage will serve as a place for Guides to help newcomers." Ceit Galbraith asks, "Armand? Question?" Armand Chascour asks, "who is the Johnston in the name of the building?" Jackson Shepard says, "No tresspassing. Jarvis can handle himself better than you might think." Jon Garfield says, "Roger Johnston, an architect who designed many of the island's features" Armand Chascour says, "oh" Trevor Rage asks, "In what?" Jon Garfield says, "According to what I remember from the application, anyway" Jackson Shepard says, "Roger Johnston was one of the early architects on the island, Armand." Jackson Shepard says, "It is named in honor of him." Armand Chascour says, "cool too" Ami Stuart asks, "can we go look around?" Assistant GameMaster Jackson Shepard's group just went east. [Johnston Tourist Information Center, Library] Chairs are put together in pairs to allow for quiet conversation. Soothing prints hang on the walls. A ceiling fan provides constant motion to the otherwise still air. The occasional burst of laughter can be heard from another room. You also see a small table with a reading lamp on it and a trophy case. Obvious exits: west. look case Crafted from sturdy North American oak and plate glass, the trophy case is roughly six feet tall. It has four shelves, each holding trophies dedicated to the tourists who have distinguished themselves on Morada. Laja Bless asks, "Ive seen enough..where can I sign up?" look on table On the small table you see a reading lamp. Jackson Shepard says, "This is the Library, as you can see." Ami Stuart says, "hey I got some of these" Ami Stuart taps a trophy case. GameMaster and Infernal Troublemaker Supreme Trevor Rage just arrived. Ami Stuart asks, "ok what level do we get that golden award?" Jackson Shepard says, "Hopefully Guides will enventually write books to be stored here for future enlightenment." Remi MacGregor asks, "Books?" Remi MacGregor asks, "Write?" Remi MacGregor shudders. Armand Chascour asks, "wow...how do we do that?" Jon Garfield says, "Island Food, Volume 1: Why NOT to Eat Gamel Zoser's Hot Dogs" Jackson Shepard says, "If they decide to do so, it will be similar to The Informer archive and the Profiles archive in the University Library which is coming soon." Armand Chascour asks, "can we write indexes of recommended reference works on the mainland?" Jackson Shepard says, "And speaking of food, we move to the kitchen..." Jon Garfield asks, "Will this be open from now on, or will it be closed up after tonight for a while?" Jackson Shepard says, "Only original island works of literature, Armand." Assistant GameMaster Jackson Shepard's group just went west. Assistant GameMaster Jackson Shepard's group just went west. [Johnston Tourist Information Center, Kitchen] The large kitchen has shiny, clean, blonde wood counters and a new lineoleum floor. The ivy stenciling on the walls appears black in the darkness. Light from the windows casts pale rectangles on the floor and on the surface of the table in the corner. Wooden cabinets are mounted on the walls above the countertops, with matching drawers and cupboards sitting underneath. You also see a trash compactor with a green button on it and a white refrigerator with a whiteboard on it. Obvious exits: east. Jon Garfield says, "Hey, I gave you a good segue without even trying to" Bryan Hit pushes a green button and the trash compactor makes a loud grinding sound as it smashes the contents to bits. read whiteboard _______________________________________________ | | | MENTOR MEETING SCHEDULE: | | | | None at this time | | | | | | | |_______________________________________________| Julie McCoy asks, "Can we sample the food?" Jackson Shepard says, "It will be closed until the first wave of Mentors are up and running." Julie McCoy says, "I want to make sure it passes the Health Dept's inspection" look in ref In the white refrigerator you see a piece of fried chicken, a box of baking soda, a bottle of spring water, a piece of chocolate cake, a carrot, a glass of pink lemonade, a bottle of ice-cold cola and a bottle of iced tea. Remi MacGregor says, "Hey Jackson, ye forgot the cheesecake." Julie McCoy exclaims, "I pronounce the food , edible!" Remi MacGregor opens some blonde wooden cupboards. Remi MacGregor says, "Poor Mother Hubbard, her cupboards are bare." Remi MacGregor closes some blonde wooden cupboards. Remi MacGregor opens some painted wooden drawers. Remi MacGregor closes some painted wooden drawers. Luca Brazzi asks, "is there any more to see?" [Johnston Tourist Information Center, Lounge] Overstuffed couches and big comfortable chairs are scattered throughout the room. Moonlight spills through an open window. The moonlight pouring in from the windows paints the plants silver. A small table holds refreshments for those gathered. You also see a lush green plant and a potted palm. Obvious exits: east, out. Jackson Shepard says, "There will be a group of Mentors that will be Council Members. They will be allowed to meet here." Ceit Galbraith says, "Malcolm, they're not for the taking."
