Use your senses. Raine Alekhin says, "I'm going to start off with a basic explanation of the Mystery Class Series." Raine Alekhin says, "There are 6 total classes." Raine Alekhin says, "They will be held every three to four weeks." Raine Alekhin says, "You'll know at least two weeks in advance when a class will be." Raine Alekhin says, "In the weeks between each class, there will be three rooms in which you will be able to practice." Raine Alekhin says, "You won't know where they are or what the set up will be. That will be part of the practice." Raine Alekhin smiles, showing her dimple. Raine Alekhin says, "Now...that out of the way." Raine Alekhin says, "This class is about basic senses." Raine Alekhin says, "Now, when I say basic senses, I mean all those verbs/commands running around unchecked." Raine Alekhin says, "Now...this will probably be the quickest class." Raine Alekhin says, "Because all you have to do is look at the room your in and start disecting things." Raine Alekhin says, "Now...the best way to do this, is to start at the top and work your way down." Raine Alekhin says, "If you notice something about a room description, try to see if it's an actual thing in that room." Raine Alekhin says, "And then, if it is...try to manipulate it. In any way you can." Raine Alekhin says, "Smell, sniff, look, read, touch...etc." Raine Alekhin asks, "Any questions, thus far?" Gavin Hale raises his hand. Raine Alekhin asks, "Gavin?" Gavin Hale asks, "In the case of a private office, are investigators still allowed to manipulate items at their will?" Raine Alekhin says, "If they are able to, yes." Gavin Hale nods. Allan Bullest raises his hand. Raine Alekhin says, "It is the responsibility of the office owner to make sure things cannot be taken away." Raine Alekhin asks, "Yes, Allan?" Allan Bullest asks, "How soon following this class, can we expect the rooms to be setup?" Raine Alekhin says, "Your homework will be to LEARN what all of the commands and/or verbs that can be used in any situation. In three days, you will be able to begin looking for the mystery area." Allan Bullest nods. Raine Alekhin asks, "Any other questions?" Raine Alekhin says, "Okay...here is a quick practice." Raine Alekhin recites: "Designed to mirror a tropical rainbow, the room is supercharged with color. Every inch of space is splashed with different bold luminous combinations--orchid pink, cool mint, hot lemon and a dozen more hues and shades too amazing to take in. The deeply pillowed sofa, chair and ottoman facing the desk are covered in soft lime-colored cloth. Completing the fanciful impression, a lemon tree sits in a bright ceramic pot in the corner of the room." Raine Alekhin asks, "What would you look at first?" Allan Bullest raises his hand. Raine Alekhin asks, "Allan?" Savannah Reynolds says, "desk" Savannah Reynolds gasps. She looks rather startled. Savannah Reynolds blushes a nice shade of off-pink. Allan Bullest says, "Either the colors, or the sofa and etc..." Raine Alekhin says, "Anything else? Y'all can speak out." Morgan Whitney says, "The lemon tree" Liz Larson says, "The Tree" Gavin Hale says, "The furniture." Miranda Myles says, "Tree" Savannah Reynolds says, "pot" Honey Templeton says, "All the furniture, the tree, the pot" Savannah Reynolds nods to Honey Templeton. Raine Alekhin nods to Honey Templeton. Paula Kelly shifts her weight. Raine Alekhin asks, "Now...HOW would you examine them?" Allan Bullest says, "the color combos" Morgan Whitney says, "look, search.." Allan Bullest says, "LOOK on.. search.. Look under, " Liz Larson says, "Look in, on, behind, under, etc" Allan Bullest says, "touch" Savannah Reynolds says, "search in" Morgan Whitney says, "Smell.." Allan Bullest says, "open.. perhaps, maybe the couch opens" Savannah Reynolds says, "push" Mickey Dufresne smiles. Allan Bullest says, "pull" Jon Garfield says, "Look at/on/in/under/behind, sense, search, smell, analyze" Allan Bullest says, "Lift.." Morgan Whitney says, "Use." Allan Bullest says, "Examine" Morgan Whitney says, "Turn.." Savannah Reynolds nods to Morgan Whitney. Raine Alekhin exclaims, "Good!" Raine Alekhin recites: "Tall marble columns mark the entrance of an impressive office suite. An intricately designed mosaic covers an entire wall and gold filigreed arches lead to a balcony scented with orange and lemon trees. Billowing ivory-pink gossamer curtains cover the floor to ceiling glass doors leading out through the arches. Two sofas, low and plush, made for Cleopatra-like reclining set among hassocks and tasseled pillows. Beautifully carved tables hold ornate lamps that cast a golden glow over the room." Raine Alekhin asks, "And this one?" Allan Bullest asks, "What's the question?" Liz Larson says, "Go in the arches and the doors" Raine Alekhin asks, "What's there? And how would you examine it?" Morgan Whitney says, "The mosiac, trees, balcony, curtains, sofas, pillows, table, lamps.." Allan Bullest says, "Mosaic.. collums.. " Allan Bullest says, "balcony..curtains" Jon Garfield says, "column, mosaic, wall, arch, balcony, tree, other tree, curtain, door, sofa, other sofa, hassok, pillow, table, lamp" Liz Larson says, "The sofa, hassock, pillows, table" Allan Bullest says, "sofas...hassocks.. pillows.. tables.. lamps.. glow." Jon Garfield says, "hassock, even" Jon Garfield babbles incoherently. Johnpaul Ledo glances around. Allan Bullest says, "Search.. Look in/under/ontop of...etc.." Johnpaul Ledo gets a distant look on his face as he ponders. Jon Garfield says, "And examine the same way as before" Allan Bullest says, "touch.." Allan Bullest agrees with Jon Garfield. Raine Alekhin nods. Allan Bullest says, "What Jon said" Allan Bullest says, "Make sure we cover both areas, its a suite" Allan Bullest says, "Oh and look on the wall too." Raine Alekhin nods. Raine Alekhin says, "Okay...I think y'all have the basics." Raine Alekhin says, "As I said earlier, your howework will be to actually figure out which commands/verbs will assist you in investigation." Raine Alekhin says, "One I don't recall anyone mentioning was 'peer'." Jon Garfield snaps his fingers. Allan Bullest asks, "That would fall into the looking into the archway and alike, no?" Raine Alekhin says, "Not necessarily." Honey Templeton asks, "You can peer at things?" Raine Alekhin says, "Okay....in three days, that would be Thursday, you will be able to begin looking for the mystery area." Jon Garfield nods. Raine Alekhin says, "It may or may not be obvious." Jon Garfield says, "Will the three rooms be together or spread out? I'm assuming together since you said area" Allan Bullest asks, "Is it going to just be a room, or will there be people and such to interact with?" Raine Alekhin says, "If I were you, I'd check all the bulletin boards first." Raine Alekhin says, "I'll address that in a moment, Allan." Allan Bullest nods to Raine Alekhin. Raine Alekhin says, "They may or may not be, Jon." Raine Alekhin says, "All the information you'll need in that regard will be made available when the area is open." Jon Garfield nods. Raine Alekhin says, "Now, as to Allan's question..." Raine Alekhin says, "Classes are cumulative." Raine Alekhin says, "This class is the basic, basics. The second class is kits. So, the second class will include sampling and the basics." Jean Jameison asks, "Raine, is there an objective, or is this just general practicing of skills?" Raine Alekhin says, "Now, as to the future classes...Class 3 is NPCs and GMPCs. Class 4 is Logic: Following an evidence trail. Class 5 is Putting it all together. Class 6 is Wrap Up:presenting your case." Raine Alekhin asks, "An objective, as in actually solving something, Jean?" Jean Jameison nods. Raine Alekhin says, "You never know." Raine Alekhin smiles, showing her dimple. Jean Jameison says, "how did I just know that" Jean Jameison grins. Raine Alekhin chuckles. Allan Bullest asks, "Will the case be cumulative as well?" Raine Alekhin asks, "Class 5, Allan?" Allan Bullest says, "All classes.. Meaning, when we get to class 6.. Are we wrapping up one big case, or will each class bring different cases." Raine Alekhin says, "Yes, Allan." Jon Garfield scratches his head, looking a bit confused. Raine Alekhin says, "I love y'all, but there's no way I'm writing a brand new mystery for y'all every three weeks." Jon Garfield grins. Allan Bullest grins. Jean Jameison chuckles. Snake Silvertongue smiles at Raine Alekhin. Julie McCoy says, "That would be nice" Julie McCoy grins at Raine Alekhin. Raine Alekhin says, "Uh-huh." Johnpaul Ledo glances around. Raine Alekhin says, "I'm not that nice." Jon Garfield chuckles. Paula Kelly grins. Johnpaul Ledo stretches. Julie McCoy giggles. Raine Alekhin asks, "Now...does anyone have any further questions?" Honey Templeton raises her hand. Raine Alekhin asks, "Yes, Honey?" Honey Templeton asks, "Will the class on kits touch on which skill is needed for each kit?" Raine Alekhin nods to Honey Templeton. Honey Templeton says, "I never understood that" Raine Alekhin says, "As it stands now." Raine Alekhin grins. Honey Templeton says, "Thanks" Honey Templeton nods. Raine Alekhin says, "With the changes coming, that will likely be a little different." Raine Alekhin says, "Now, I'm available to chat for a little bit, but the basic class is finished."
