_________________________________________ / -Non-Combat Notoriety Forum- \ | -June 7, 1998- | | Recorded by Snake Silvertongue | | Edited by Aubrey McMichaels | \___http://pages.prodigy.net/aubreymcm/___/ Peggysue Wilshire walks into the room, a light little skip in her step. Peggysue Wilshire exclaims, "Hi-hi, boys and girls!" Peggysue Wilshire calls the assembly to order. After a moment the crowd quiets down. Peggysue Wilshire exclaims, "Welcome to our forum on non-combat notoriety!" Peggysue Wilshire exclaims, "Thanks for coming!" Peggysue Wilshire smiles brightly. Peggysue Wilshire says, "We'd like to hear your ideas on earning notoriety for non-violent activities." Peggysue Wilshire says, "Our current system of non-combat noto pretty much revolves around finding and accusing non-violent perps." Peggysue Wilshire says, "Something that I personally see as a problem with this system is that the process of finding and accusing the perp is the same regardless of your character's profession and skills." Peggysue Wilshire asks, "As a result it can get rather repetitive and, dare I say, boring?" Peggysue Wilshire looks around nervously for lightning bolts. Peggysue Wilshire exclaims, "Well, perhaps not as boring as running errands!" Peggysue Wilshire giggles. Peggysue Wilshire says, "We also have the tutorial and the maze to provide one-time boosts to your noto." Peggysue Wilshire says, "Over the past year or so, the GM staff has added some new features for the non-combat-oriented players." Peggysue Wilshire says, "The French Quarter has non-violent perps which are more difficult to catch." Peggysue Wilshire says, "The Jungle also has difficult non-violent perps, and they're mixed in with violent perps." Peggysue Wilshire says, "You can donate money to certain worthy causes." Peggysue Wilshire says, "The revolving mysteries have been brought back, and each can give you a one-time noto boost when you solve it." Peggysue Wilshire says, "Academians and Secret Agents, level 5 and above, are able to teach." Peggysue Wilshire says, "We are working on professional abilities for the other professions." Peggysue Wilshire exclaims, "Oops, almost forgot!" Peggysue Wilshire says, "Investigative Reporters are able to read and write news articles." Peggysue Wilshire giggles. Peggysue Wilshire says, "Still, taken as a whole, the non-combat notoriety system could use a lot of improvement." Peggysue Wilshire says, "That's where you come in." Peggysue Wilshire smiles at the assembled crowd. Peggysue Wilshire says, "We'd like to hear your ideas." Peggysue Wilshire slaps her forehead! Peggysue Wilshire exclaims, "Oh! I almost forgot!" Peggysue Wilshire says, "If you have an idea or comment which you didn't get to bring up in this forum, my e-mail address is Peggysue@prontomail.com" Peggysue Wilshire exclaims, "Okay, I've talked enough, now it's your turn!" Jason Texas stands up to address the assembly. Peggysue Wilshire smiles at Jason Texas. Jason Texas says, "Peggysue, my idea is somewhat related to hunting, but I think we should get noto when successfully saving someone with a first-aid kit." Jason Texas says, "That is pretty much, all I wanted to say. Thanks." Peggysue Wilshire smiles at Jason Texas. Peggysue Wilshire exclaims, "Okay, thanks, Jason!" Having finished addressing the assembly Jason Texas sits back down. Julie McCoy stands up to address the assembly. Julie McCoy says, "Hi! We need more "one-time boosts" for our noto. How about a ropes course/climbing wall or other maze type activities? Perhaps certain professions would get more noto than others in these kinds of activities..." Peggysue Wilshire smiles at Julie McCoy. Julie McCoy grins. Julie McCoy says, "I was ready to roll, as you can see" Peggysue Wilshire smiles at Julie McCoy. Peggysue Wilshire asks, "Any other suggestions, Julie?" Julie McCoy says, "Nope" Julie McCoy sits down. Peggysue Wilshire smiles. Having finished addressing the assembly Julie McCoy sits back down. Xavier Heuer stands up to address the assembly. Peggysue Wilshire smiles at Xavier Heuer. Xavier Heuer says, "Hey all..I think we should, when we get to like level 4, or maybe not any level limit, you should be able to aprentice in something. Like for example, making or inscribing jewel at that shop" Xavier Heuer says, "Or other things such as that.." Xavier Heuer says, "OK, thats it" Xavier Heuer smiles. Peggysue Wilshire exclaims, "Thanks, Xavier!" Xavier Heuer sits down. Having finished addressing the assembly Xavier Heuer sits back down. Benton Fraser stands up to address the assembly. Peggysue Wilshire asks, "Benton?" Benton Fraser says, "Hi! I'd like to suggest maybe something in diplomacy. I haven't thought it out, but where we could represent our country." Benton Fraser seems confused. Benton Fraser says, "I don't know how to describe it better than that." Benton Fraser smiles. Benton Fraser shows a brass nametag to Peggysue Wilshire. Peggysue Wilshire smiles. Benton Fraser says, "If I think it through more, I'll let you know." Peggysue Wilshire exclaims, "Thanks, Benton!" Having finished addressing the assembly Benton Fraser sits back down. Joy Nalewi stands up to address the assembly. Joy Nalewi waves. Peggysue Wilshire nods to Joy Nalewi. Joy Nalewi smiles. Joy Nalewi says, "Okay... I'm not sure if this qualifies as noncomabat, but speaking as a dedicated huntress..." Joy Nalewi says, "I feel that noto boosts should be given to those who lead, accuse, and heal." Joy Nalewi says, "Their services are vital to all the hunters, and they should be rewarded." Joy Nalewi smiles. Joy Nalewi says, "And that's really all I have to say about that." Joy Nalewi grins. Peggysue Wilshire exclaims, "Okay, thanks, Joy!" Having finished addressing the assembly Joy Nalewi sits back down. Angela Bond stands up to address the assembly. Peggysue Wilshire asks, "Angela?" Angela Bond asks, "Hiya, I know this sounds somewhat ridiculous but I think having a few certain verbs that you keep working on to perfect them, each time you get a few notoriety points; when that verb is perfected the person can get something like 7 or 10 notoriety points each time they perform it. Also, for people who would like to deliver but think its too 'newbie', why not have an advanced delivery system for players above level 3, who deliver to all parts in Morada and that gives more notoriety?" Angela Bond says, "And that's all I have to say" Angela Bond grins. Peggysue Wilshire exclaims, "Thank you, Angela!" Having finished addressing the assembly Angela Bond sits back down. Xenia Wilson stands up to address the assembly. Xenia Wilson says, "My first comment is that I rather liked Julie McCoy's idea about additional one-time things. I would add to it new rotating mysteries. My second comment is that I think there should be a way to raise individual skills. I think Julie touched on a way to do it with the classes; I'd also suggest actually USING specific skills. Possibly in the rotating mysteries, or to make and sell stuff in a merchant-like fashion. Not that complex of course, but on that line." Peggysue Wilshire smiles at Xenia Wilson. Peggysue Wilshire asks, "Anything else?" Xenia Wilson says, "Not off-hand, thank you." Xenia Wilson grins at Peggysue Wilshire. Peggysue Wilshire exclaims, "Thanks, Xenia!" Having finished addressing the assembly Xenia Wilson sits back down. Peggysue Wilshire exclaims, "Gosh, everyone's ideas are so clear I can't even come up with any questions!" Peggysue Wilshire giggles. Jade Rose stands up to address the assembly. Peggysue Wilshire exclaims, "Hi, Jade!" Jade Rose exclaims, "Hiya!" Jade Rose grins. Jade Rose says, "My idea was inspired partially by Jason's. Maybe we can set up some sort of thing where you can volunteer at the ER or something and heal people. Not necessarily for real people, but for NPCs maybe. You could use your first aid skills and surgery skills for it. Also, none of the professions would be at a disadvantage due to lack of physique or anything else." Peggysue Wilshire asks, "Would you expect that Coroners might have an edge there?" Jade Rose says, "A little bit, but none others would have it be a challenge." Jade Rose says, "In other words, some might be better with it, but none would be struggling, as Academians do with hunting." Jade Rose says, "And also, women and men would be equally matched." Jade Rose says, "It would mostly be based upon your skill." Peggysue Wilshire scribbles furiously on her notepad. Peggysue Wilshire asks, "Anything else, Jade?" Jade Rose grins. Jade Rose sits down. Peggysue Wilshire exclaims, "Thanks!" Having finished addressing the assembly Jade Rose sits back down. Leila Meridian stands up to address the assembly. Peggysue Wilshire asks, "Leila?" Leila Meridian says, "Hey. I know you already said we'd have jobs, and this idea is kind of like Xavier's. But we could apprentice and then be hired at someplace after passing apprenticehood, and work for money or noto." Leila Meridian smiles. Leila Meridian says, "And that's my idea." Peggysue Wilshire asks, "What kind of jobs would you think?" Leila Meridian says, "Well, like he said, you apprentice someplace, like the jewelry store." Leila Meridian says, "And then a store could hire you to make jewelry for them." Leila Meridian says, "Or the jewelry place could hire you to make jewelry." Leila Meridian says, "Or you can learn to cook, and Coral's can hire you to cook." Peggysue Wilshire asks, "So, something at a store or the like, rather something in your profession?" Leila Meridian nods. Leila Meridian says, "Apprenticing, and once you've passed that, you work for someone." Leila Meridian smiles. Peggysue Wilshire nods to Leila Meridian. Leila Meridian exclaims, "okay, thank you!" Leila Meridian smiles. Peggysue Wilshire exclaims, "Thank YOU, Leila!" Peggysue Wilshire smiles at Leila Meridian. Having finished addressing the assembly Leila Meridian sits back down. Jess Whiterose stands up to address the assembly. Jess Whiterose grins. Peggysue Wilshire exclaims, "Hi-hi, Jess!" Jess Whiterose says, "Heya, I've got a few short points then I will send you details" Jess Whiterose says, "we have 86 skills and I would like to get original" Jess Whiterose asks, "why just a one time boost?" Jess Whiterose says, "example fishing" Jess Whiterose says, "should be able to do that on-going for noto based on skill and time spent at it" Jess Whiterose says, "and maybe even sell them to Joe" Peggysue Wilshire giggles. Jess Whiterose says, "based on random weights or something" Jess Whiterose says, "or beachcombing for other skill things" Jess Whiterose says, "clam hunting" Jess Whiterose says, "etc" Jess Whiterose says, "not to mention equipment sales for the type of thing you are doing" Jess Whiterose says, "there should be pluses and minuses based on skills and rts" Jess Whiterose says, "it has to be fun too, but I want reasons to train in other things" Jess Whiterose says, "besides combat" Jess Whiterose says, "find components for chemical formulas" Jess Whiterose says, "study at the library the formula and make tear gas or something" Peggysue Wilshire blinks. Jess Whiterose says, "we have chemistry" Jess Whiterose says, "but no use for it aside from events" Jess Whiterose smiles. Peggysue Wilshire nods to Jess Whiterose. (Jess Whiterose is a troublemaker.) Peggysue Wilshire grins at Jess Whiterose. Jess Whiterose says, "these could be self maintaining" Jess Whiterose says, "not requiring gms to manage all the time" Jess Whiterose says, "and combinations of skills to do stuff" Jess Whiterose says, "repair and metal say for repairing those broken lockpicks" Jess Whiterose chuckles. Jess Whiterose says, "there are tons of things and the areas are here already actually for implementing" Jess Whiterose says, "but it has to use the skills and be interesting to do" Jess Whiterose says, "hunting for sponges etc, just some ideas" Jess Whiterose says, "now I will bore you via email" Jess Whiterose grins at Peggysue Wilshire. Peggysue Wilshire giggles. Jess Whiterose says, "thanks" Peggysue Wilshire exclaims, "Thanks, Jess!" Having finished addressing the assembly Jess Whiterose sits back down. Elise Evans stands up to address the assembly. Peggysue Wilshire exclaims, "Hi, Elise!" Elise Evans exclaims, "Hi Peggysue!" Elise Evans says, "my first idea follows on from other things already mentioned ... first aid and healing people." Elise Evans says, "I would prefer to see that low level people who heal are rewarded for it ... as a learner coroner, it was very disheartening to be hunting and able to heal, but because I practically never hit anyone, I didn't get noto or cash." Peggysue Wilshire nods to Elise Evans. Elise Evans says, "the other one relates more specifically to coroners too ... I know you're working on things for each profession, but it's been a long time ..." Elise Evans smiles. Elise Evans says, "and Jade mentioned that perhaps we could heal each other" Elise Evans says, "I thought perhaps coroners could get work at the hospital, or the hut, or use their skills like the teaching skill" Elise Evans says, "and reduce people's injuries through time and patience" Peggysue Wilshire asks, "You want to work in that tacky little hut?" Peggysue Wilshire giggles. Elise Evans says, "bring a critical back to a serious, serious to minor, and heal minors completely." Elise Evans says, "not really" Elise Evans grins at Peggysue Wilshire. Peggysue Wilshire exclaims, "No air conditioning or ANYTHING!" Elise Evans says, "although I'd have my ratty magazine to keep me company." Peggysue Wilshire laughs! Elise Evans giggles. Elise Evans exclaims, "disinfected, first .... of course!" Elise Evans says, "um ... where was I ...." Elise Evans gets a distant look on her face as she ponders. Elise Evans says, "other coronial kind of things could be healing NPCs of their nasty tropical diseases" Elise Evans says, "along the lines of the revolving mysteries ... they could say on comm how sick they are and we could all rush in and suffocate them ... ah ... heal them" Peggysue Wilshire giggles. Elise Evans says, "someone mentioned cooking skills ... I think it was Leila" Elise Evans smiles at Leila Meridian. Elise Evans says, "I wondered about finding different herbs or spice trees and gathering produce to take back to the restaurants" Elise Evans says, "skill based - paid cash on receipt depending on quantity and condition" Elise Evans says, "plus noto for how much time you put into it" Peggysue Wilshire says, "I know where you can find some mushrooms." Peggysue Wilshire giggles. Peggysue Wilshire says, "I don't know if they're edible, though." Elise Evans says, "I'd also like to see more rp bonuses" Elise Evans grins at Peggysue Wilshire. Elise Evans says, "Not just at one-off events, but a chance for us to sit in the cantina and be ourselves ... perhaps some of the island residents could visit us and we could chat" Elise Evans giggles. Elise Evans says, "just heard the mushroom comment - I must check my hearing aid" Elise Evans says, "I remember, well vaguely remember given how much we drank, a great evening with Beau before he disappeared when we just sat outside the pub and talked." Elise Evans says, "last thing was along the lines of Jesser's comments about using our other skills" Elise Evans says, "I looked at gemology, and thought perhaps we could locate and collect gemstones of differing varieties" Elise Evans says, "take them to the uni for classification" Elise Evans says, "have a semi-merchant like Mockingbird selling settings" Peggysue Wilshire loves collecting gemstones. Peggysue Wilshire taps a diamond pin. Elise Evans says, "and depending on skill put them together to make jewellery or something like that" Elise Evans recites: "You put a magnificent diamond into a fabulous gold setting and still managed to make it look just horrid?" Peggysue Wilshire giggles. Elise Evans says, "sounds about right for me skill level" Elise Evans says, "and that was the last one" Elise Evans says, "you can all wake up again now" Peggysue Wilshire smiles at Elise Evans. Peggysue Wilshire exclaims, "Thanks, Elise!" Having finished addressing the assembly Elise Evans sits back down. Armand Chascour stands up to address the assembly. Armand Chascour says, "I like all the ideas so far...healing certainly, also the "harvesting" type jobs...noto and $ for herbs, fish, exotic plants, maybe pan for gold in jungle streams: these could be skill based and earn more noto and $. And I like employment, maybe have lots of little jobs like washing dishes, sweep floors, work a west end assembly line, shelving books...those would earn some noto and $ but not as much as the skill-based ones." Peggysue Wilshire smiles at Armand Chascour. Peggysue Wilshire nods to Armand Chascour. Armand Chascour exclaims, "that's all I can think of...I really want healing tho, esp with the heli rides costing so much!" Armand Chascour winces expressively. Peggysue Wilshire is NOT going to work on the lube rack at the Gas Bar. Peggysue Wilshire giggles. Armand Chascour exclaims, "you'd make a great roller waitress!" Peggysue Wilshire gives a big thumbs up to Armand Chascour! Armand Chascour grins. Peggysue Wilshire exclaims, "Thanks, Armand!" Having finished addressing the assembly Armand Chascour sits back down. Matthew Broderick stands up to address the assembly. Peggysue Wilshire smiles at Matthew Caulfield. Matthew Broderick says, "I'd first like to say something about the mysteries. I love the whole thing of revolving mysteries...but I thrive on challenges, and I don't mean to be rude...but these revolving mysteries weren't that hard...and I know they're more for newbies...but I'd rather see a mystery that gets you to the point where you say, 'I give up..thats it'...but yet you can't because you've come so far...so when you do complete the mystery, you get that great feeling of accomplishment and that nice bundle of noto...instead of solving some much simpler mystery where all you do is yawn after completing it and getting a tap of noto...I'd also like to say something about Angela's idea of advanced delivery system...I whole-heartedly agree with that...I think it would be better if you had to somewhat find the person to deliver the package too...but have some clues to give you a boost...so when you do find the recipient...you get a nice bundle of noto...and another package which starts a whole new mystery/delivery..." Peggysue Wilshire blinks. Peggysue Wilshire blinks. Matthew Broderick laughs! Matthew Broderick coughs. Matthew Broderick says, " I'd just really like to see the revolving mysteries be ALOT more *mysterious*" Peggysue Wilshire asks, "You think the the Funeral Home mystery is too easy?" Peggysue Wilshire glances at Matthew Broderick. Matthew Broderick says, " I thrive on challenge" Matthew Broderick shakes his head. Peggysue Wilshire smiles. Matthew Broderick says, " Nope, but thats just one....and I know of a few good mysteries...but.." Matthew Broderick says, " I love it when you see people grunt and moan.....all because of being deadlocked..." Matthew Broderick says, " Thats the best part of the mystery, because that's when your senses kick in...and the fun really starts...because like I said, you've come too far to stop...but you feel you can't continue.." Matthew Broderick exclaims, " And having such a complex mystery would not only bring you a good amount of noto since it would take alot of time...and money.....but finishing it would be the greatest!" Matthew Broderick says, " Also, this way you really know who is a true (OOC:RPer) to just a level chaser" Peggysue Wilshire smiles at Matthew Broderick. Matthew Broderick says, " You'll have to acknowledge and admire the island." Matthew Broderick exclaims, " I know that's how things are run now, but make it harder!" Matthew Broderick exclaims, " I wanna whine and beg and break down because it's hard!" Matthew Broderick says, " And that, I CAN GUARANTEE, will not draw boredom..." Matthew Broderick says, " Boredom, in my opinion, comes to the point when you said about accusing and killing...and when you've solved the mystery...and you don't feel like you are so awesome and super smart for doing it....you should feel like you've won the world genius award..." Matthew Broderick says, " And going with such a hard mystery, wouldn't make you guys--the GM's--have to constantly be creating new ones....since it will take a good while before the few released are completed..." Matthew Broderick says, " That's why I would say create like a dozen awesome and very very very challenging mysteries..and release like 1 every 2 weeks...maybe 2...and just slowly create new ones along the way." Peggysue Wilshire asks, "So, are you saying you want harder mysteries?" Peggysue Wilshire giggles. Matthew Broderick nods to Peggysue Wilshire. Matthew Broderick says, " I couldn't make it any simpler." Peggysue Wilshire asks, "Anything else, Matthew?" Matthew Broderick exclaims, " The harder! The Better! The more people complain! The more interesting Morada is! The more people come to visit Morada!" Matthew Broderick gets an impish expression on his face, and lets out a hearty cheer. Matthew Broderick says, " Whoops....sawwwry, got carried away there..." Matthew Broderick whistles a cheerful tune. Peggysue Wilshire asks, "Anything else, matthew?" Matthew Broderick says, " No my mouth is dry and lips are chap and I've filled your notebook.." Matthew Broderick smiles. Peggysue Wilshire smiles. Peggysue Wilshire exclaims, "Thanks!" Having finished addressing the assembly Matthew Broderick sits back down. Jerusha Chapman stands up to address the assembly. Peggysue Wilshire smiles at Jerusha Chapman. Jerusha Chapman smiles. Marika Kurcobain sits down. Jerusha Chapman says, "Thank you." Jerusha Chapman says, "I'll try to be brief." Jerusha Chapman grins. Jerusha Chapman says, "I have two suggestions. The first one has sort of been touched on, and is for a new profession -- that of craftsman. Depending on skills and crafts chosen, we could make and sell our items." Jerusha Chapman says, "The quality would be reflected in our skills, and we'd get notoriety for finding the materials and successfully creating the item." Jerusha Chapman says, "Not to mention cash for selling it." Jerusha Chapman grins. Jerusha Chapman says, "The second one is that I'd like to be able to track animals thorugh the jungle. Sort of like bird watching. The longer you track, the greater your notoriety gain." Jerusha Chapman says, "This wouldn't be for hunting, just for the sake of fun." Peggysue Wilshire asks, "Photography, perhaps?" Jerusha Chapman says, "Or just for the sake of watching a cool animal in it's habitat." Jerusha Chapman shrugs. Peggysue Wilshire exclaims, "Thanks, Jerusha!" Having finished addressing the assembly Jerusha Chapman sits back down. Scarlett FyrreBrehm stands up to address the assembly. Peggysue Wilshire exclaims, "Hi-hi, Scarlett!" Scarlett FyrreBrehm says, "hi there" Scarlett FyrreBrehm says, "I thought it might be an interesting idea to focus on the professions" Scarlett FyrreBrehm says, "possibly make a way for only certain professions to, say, deliver items" Scarlett FyrreBrehm says, "say an agent has to deliver some sort of agent thing to the office, and they'd have to go around the island collecting what they needed to put it together" Scarlett FyrreBrehm says, "then deliver it to the office in one piece" Peggysue Wilshire nods to Scarlett FyrreBrehm. Scarlett FyrreBrehm says, "something like that" Scarlett FyrreBrehm says, "it would use some of the skills we don't use, and make delivering harder" Peggysue Wilshire asks, "Anything else, Scarlett?" Scarlett FyrreBrehm looks over at Peggysue Wilshire and shakes her head. Peggysue Wilshire exclaims, "Thanks!" Having finished addressing the assembly Scarlett FyrreBrehm sits back down. Marissa Tenchavez stands up to address the assembly. Peggysue Wilshire smiles at Marissa Tenchavez. Marissa Tenchavez says, "Hi everyone. I don't want to waste any of your time, so I'm going to make this as quick as I can. Everyone here has some interesting ideas here, and most of them are great. I have noticed, however, that some involve hunting, and the point of this, I think, is for those that are either sick of hunting, or don't like to hunt at all. I have noticed that certain professions have certain things they can do, and I think you should build on that. I don't know how, but make it so that all professions can do a certain thing to raise noto. I also believe that there are so many skills we have to raise that have not been used yet. Jess is right. Look at the fishing. Joe might need some help buying that stuff, and we're the ones to do it. Also, the Excellent Year. They need help making stuff, and again, we can do that. It will give us a little noto and a little money. Why not make it so that they all have a certain purpose to help us raise our noto." Marissa Tenchavez says, "Also, maybe we could make some place where we can cook for the needy, or help in some way with that. Make a homeless shelter somewhere and be able to donate clothes for noto, cook for them, use kits to mend them. Something along those lines. I also do agree that we need more mysteries. Harder ones that give you more noto. That's what this island is about. Mystery, Fun, and Adventure. That's what we need more of, and I think that adding new things will do us good. Out with the old, in with the new, as they say. Adding to that, it would be great if we could get noto by creating new mysteries. " Marissa Tenchavez recites: "Let's put down those t-bars And bake us some cakes Let's make new adventures Let's help them heal aches" Marissa Tenchavez recites: "Let's solve evil crimes And sell worms to Joe Let's give up our clothes For a bit of noto" Marissa Tenchavez says, "Ok, so I'm not a poet, but it shows you my point." Marissa Tenchavez sits down. Marissa Tenchavez twiddles her thumbs with a blank expression on her face. Peggysue Wilshire giggles. Peggysue Wilshire exclaims, "Thanks, Marissa!" Marissa Tenchavez says, "Anytime" Having finished addressing the assembly Marissa Tenchavez sits back down. May Davenport stands up to address the assembly. Peggysue Wilshire exclaims, "Hi-hi, May!" May Davenport says, "Hi ya" May Davenport says, "Um.. ok" May Davenport says, "Well I feel stupid because all the other peoples ideas are better than mine" May Davenport giggles. May Davenport says, "I am a person who likes to think of ways I can level faster" May Davenport giggles. May Davenport smiles at Marissa Jansen. May Davenport says, "um.." May Davenport says, "I like to open the safe in the pawn shop" May Davenport says, "so do some of my friends" May Davenport says, "I think it will help just a little if we Morada folks could get noto for everytime we open the safe" May Davenport says, "Like 5 or 10 or something small" May Davenport says, "Because its easy but I think because I do it so often I should get something for it" May Davenport giggles. Peggysue Wilshire smiles at May Davenport. May Davenport says, "And I really like that getting a job thingy It sounds like alot of fun" May Davenport says, "And that homeless one metioned is cool too because I like helping people" May Davenport says, "And you can get noto for a good cause" May Davenport says, "um..." May Davenport says, "and" May Davenport says, "that mystery one is cool too" (May Davenport smiles at everyone.) Having finished addressing the assembly May Davenport sits back down. Bryan Hit stands up to address the assembly. Peggysue Wilshire smiles at Bryan Hit. Bryan Hit says, "okay, mine's easy" Bryan Hit says, "i thought it might be nice to get noto for things such as Karaoke as well. Those who have developed the arts skills can benefit from that. My expert skills are the arts like music, dancing, and singing, highly skilled ar the combat skills so to have something to build noto other than hunting, and be able to do it in something I am expert at would be great. Also, I think Sleuths should also be able to teach, but in the skills they are expert or highly skilled in." Peggysue Wilshire nods to Bryan Hit. Bryan Hit says, "it doesn't really seem like Sleuths are really afforded too much as far as gaining noto other than hunting" Bryan Hit says, "or delivering packages, or solving the mysteries" Bryan Hit says, "it would be fun to be able to teach something I know I'm skilled at" Bryan Hit smiles at Peggysue Wilshire. Peggysue Wilshire nods to Bryan Hit. Peggysue Wilshire asks, "Anything else, Bryan?" Bryan Hit says, "nope nope" Bryan Hit grins. Peggysue Wilshire exclaims, "Thanks!" Having finished addressing the assembly Bryan Hit sits back down. Xenia Wilson stands up to address the assembly. Peggysue Wilshire smiles at Xenia Wilson. Xenia Wilson says, "In reply to the thoughts of Jess Whiterose; I think what he was talking about would be the very point of working on specific skills. A possible mean of use of a skill is to solicit business. I mentioned merchant-like manufacture and sale of things." Xenia Wilson says, "An example of that would be art to sell to the gallery for display. Gigi would give a certain amount of money and noto for such things. Or a home-owner like Gina could buy some of the art for a personal collection." Peggysue Wilshire nods to Xenia Wilson. Peggysue Wilshire asks, "Anything else, Xenia?" Peggysue Wilshire considers what some of the paintings might look like. Peggysue Wilshire shudders. Xenia Wilson says, "Jake Duster whispered to me pay and noto could be based on skill and time spent on creating the art...I agree with him there." Peggysue Wilshire smiles at Xenia Wilson. Peggysue Wilshire asks, "Anything more?" Peggysue Wilshire has a hard time telling when people are done talking. Peggysue Wilshire giggles. Xenia Wilson says, "Not that I can think of. Thanks." Peggysue Wilshire exclaims, "Thanks!" Having finished addressing the assembly Xenia Wilson sits back down. Alexis Droma stands up to address the assembly. Peggysue Wilshire asks, "Ale?" Alexis Droma says, "Ok...i'll be brief" Alexis Droma says, "Two ideas..one...for all the idoits like me who wander into the jungle and get themselves lost" Alexis Droma grins. Alexis Droma says, "And end up screaming for help...i think their resucers should get some noto points for going all the way out there for them" Alexis Droma says, "And two...we should be able to share Noto...like if a freind of yours wants to get married" Alexis Droma says, "And they have that last little bit of noto to get to 20 that never quite moves" Alexis Droma says, "You can "spot" them some of your noto.." Alexis Droma says, "And they can pay it back at a later date" Alexis Droma says, "OR keep it as a gift" Alexis Droma shrugs. Alexis Droma says, "Ok...i'm done..i'll shut up now" Alexis Droma bows. Alexis Droma blinks. Alexis Droma says, "Wasn't THAT bad" Alexis Droma sits down. Peggysue Wilshire asks, "Would the ability to give noto open the door to abuse?" Peggysue Wilshire gets a distant look on her face as she ponders. Alexis Droma asks, "How?" Alexis Droma says, "The noto would go dircetly to a person" Alexis Droma says, "ANd you couldn't steal it" Alexis Droma says, "It would have to be given" Alexis Droma says, "And no more then like..1000 noto points can be given" Alexis Droma says, "By a person..so say i wanna give noto to someone..i can't give them more then 1000" Alexis Droma says, "And they can't receive more then 1000" Peggysue Wilshire gets a distant look on her face as she ponders. Alexis Droma says, "But if i want to share it with 2 people" Alexis Droma says, "They both can only get 500 each from me" Alexis Droma says, "FOr say...a month...then i can give the full 1000 again" Alexis Droma gets a distant look on her face as she ponders. Peggysue Wilshire exclaims, "Okay, thanks, Ale!" Alexis Droma says, "OR maybe not give anymore until paid back what i gave" Alexis Droma says, "Ok..i'll really shut up now" Peggysue Wilshire giggles. Having finished addressing the assembly Alexis Droma sits back down. Peggysue Wilshire says, "For those who missed my introduction, and may have to leave soon..." Joy Nalewi says, "What might be really easy for some is really hard for others." Joy Nalewi says, "And while some people enjoy challenges, and everyone does sometimes..." Joy Nalewi says, "It could be a disaster to have mysteries so hard as to completely frustrate people." Joy Nalewi says, "I can see that driving a lot of people, especially newbies, away." Joy Nalewi says, "We all like to feel smart" Joy Nalewi grins. Joy Nalewi says, "Take from that what you may... just had to put my two cents in, like always." Joy Nalewi grins. Peggysue Wilshire asks, "Perhaps if the mysteries were somehow labelled as to how tough they are? Edith is a 1-star, the funeral home is a 4-star?" Joy Nalewi nods to Peggysue Wilshire. Peggysue Wilshire smiles at Joy Nalewi. Joy Nalewi says, "I think that would be a great compromise, but if it's a choice between easy ones and impossible, leave the easy." She says that another game that she plays gives points for time spent in the game when you're NOT collecting points, on the presumption that you're RP'ing." Peggysue Wilshire asks, "So, you get noto for not getting noto?" Karen Karsen says, "It sounded a bit odd to me, too, but that is what she said." Karen Karsen says, "That's all I have." Matthew Broderick stands up to address the assembly. Peggysue Wilshire smiles at Matthew Broderick. Matthew Broderick says, " I just wanted to say on a side-note while we have the GM's full attention..something about the skills. I think it would be really really really great if next to each skill we could have some form of ratio comparison to the rest of the people on morada..maybe something simple as a percent...as to where the percent means that is how much better you are in that skill compared to the rest of the people of Morada...or some word/phrases such as expert, professional, and then like pauper, pointless, etc. Just basically some form of comparison to the rest of the people, because I think we'd all like to know where we stand compared to the rest of the people of Morada." Matthew Broderick blinks. Matthew Broderick says, " Also too, there will be no revealing of the person in morada with the best skill...." Matthew Broderick says, " As to say if the second most person and the person with the most skill would get the same word/phrase percent....or ratio....so you would never know if you are thee' best...just how good overall...I dont like comparison revealed with the names, I like it confidential" Peggysue Wilshire asks, "Do I understand that what you want is to compare your skills against other players, rather than our current rating system which is on an absolute scale?" Matthew Broderick nods. Matthew Broderick says, " But no names releases, so you really dont get bragging rights or anything like that, its just full curiousity" Peggysue Wilshire nods to Matthew Broderick. Of course I think you should have to pay for the classes like you would at any other university. Or perhaps they could edit student work in a study center or something and get pay for it. I also think that because this island is getting littered up, especially in the jungle, we could get a small amount of noto for throwing our trash in the dumpster and not on the ground." Julie Green says, "I'm also hoping that noto isn't given for doing things like helping new tourists and people who are lost. I think that we should remember that we should be kind an courteous with out needing to be rewarded for it." Peggysue Wilshire says, "The area around the Emporium is pretty trashy usually, too." Peggysue Wilshire nods to Julie McCoy. Peggysue Wilshire exclaims, "Ack!" Peggysue Wilshire nods to Julie Green. (Jess Whiterose will stop causing trouble now.) Jess Whiterose bows to Peggysue Wilshire. Peggysue Wilshire says, "I would think that logically, this would lead to some types of noto-gathering which is specific to newcomers." Peggysue Wilshire says, "It would either not be available, or would be of little value, to higher-level players." Peggysue Wilshire asks, "Is that right, Jess?" Jess Whiterose says, "good, but they should catch a small fish too" Jess Whiterose says, "or find a nice little gem" Jess Whiterose says, "and know that with training they can do better" Peggysue Wilshire nods to Jess Whiterose. Jess Whiterose says, "get my point, I don't want them frustrated" Peggysue Wilshire nods to Jess Whiterose. Jess Whiterose says, "but I don't want the elders to be bored either" Jess Whiterose says, "the opportunities get better as you progress" Jess Whiterose says, "but you start with some chances of opportunity" Jess Whiterose says, "I want to encourage training in all skills" Jess Whiterose says, "not just combat" Peggysue Wilshire nods to Jess Whiterose. Jess Whiterose says, "but should be reasonable and competitive with combat" Jess Whiterose says, "and fun as well, I think Mo gms are great with actions and stuff" Jess Whiterose says, "so I know you all can do it" Jess Whiterose says, "thanks I really am done let somebody else speak" Peggysue Wilshire exclaims, "Thanks, Jess!" " Tom Webster says, "And perhaps get noto for a good picture.. and be able to sell it for cash.." Tom Webster exclaims, "Thats all!" Peggysue Wilshire says, "I'm sure the Investigative Reporters would agree." Peggysue Wilshire giggles. Peggysue Wilshire exclaims, "Thanks, Tom!" Having finished addressing the assembly Tom Webster sits back down. Eling Kurcobain stands up to address the assembly. Peggysue Wilshire asks, "Eling?" Eling Kurcobain says, "I'd just like to elaborate on Julie Greens Idea..." Eling Kurcobain says, "Maybe if you had to take a quiz after lectures and such to prove you've learned what they wanted you to would be a good way to EARN the noto" Eling Kurcobain says, "And I think that it should be open for all professions." Eling Kurcobain says, "Anyone who'd like to learn a little more, maybe just give the Acedemians a bonus" Eling Kurcobain says, "Ok, I'm finished" Peggysue Wilshire exclaims, "Thanks, Eling!" Brian Indiana turns towards Peggysue Wilshire and renders a snappy salute. Having finished addressing the assembly Brian Indiana sits back down. Snake Silvertongue stands up to address the assembly. Peggysue Wilshire asks, "Snake?" Snake Silvertongue says, "Okay, my idea is a little more hard core than some of the others, I guess. But I wish you could use you pilfering skills to *steal* from some of the shops. I think it would give the island a different feel if we weren't all stuck being "good guys'" Snake Silvertongue says, "If you get caught, the shopkeeper pulls out a shotgun and shoots you, you wake up in the hospital with a huge bill, and maybe a fine as well." Snake Silvertongue says, "Obviously, the Armory, the Bullseye Shack, and the Plantation would have to be made "unpilferable" so as not to upset game balance." Peggysue Wilshire asks, "Anything else, Snake?" Snake Silvertongue says, "Also, Repair is a skill" Snake Silvertongue says, "A lot of things found in the Jungle are broken" Snake Silvertongue says, "It would be nice to get noto to repair them" Peggysue Wilshire wonders how you repair dryer lint.
