_________________________________________ / -Skill Reallocation Forum- \ | -November 30, 2000- | | Recorded & Edited by Aubrey McMichaels | \___http://pages.prodigy.net/aubreymcm/___/ [The Reality Cafe, Main Dining Room] The sweet aroma of fresh-brewed coffee envelops you in this festively tropical room. The walls have been painted a soft sage green and are covered with colorful tropical paintings. An enormous salt-water aquarium has been built into one wall behind a marble-topped counter. Tall, potted palms and overflowing baskets of hanging plants offer an air of privacy to the elegantly decorated tables and booths. You also see a large briefcase and Trixie Perry. Also in the room: A lot of people Obvious exits: north, out. Trevor Rage calls for silence and the room settles down. Ryan Montoya gazes dreamily at nothing in particular. Siri Macallan breathes a sigh of relief. Trevor Rage says, "Ah, beautiful." Brian Indiana scoots over next to Siri Macallan. Siri Macallan just tickled Brian Indiana. Siri Macallan says, "Welcome to the last offical forum on Skill Reallocation." Siri Macallan grins. Siri Macallan says, "Trevor and I don't have much to go over, so this is going to be a time when you can voice all your deep seated fears about reallocation and the process." Siri Macallan whistles a cheerful tune. Trevor Rage grins. Siri Macallan says, "By popular demand though, we're going to allow ONE question per turn this time. " Siri Macallan says, "This is so the people at the bottom of the list get to ask before midnight Pacific time." Siri Macallan says, "If you have another question, you can always rejoin the list." Trevor Rage says, "You can rejoin the list, just one question per person per turn up." Trevor Rage grins. Trevor Rage nods to Siri Macallan. Siri Macallan says, "I guess the first thing to do is let you know when this is going to be taking place." Siri Macallan says, "As of tomorrow, at Noon Eastern, Modus is going to be closed for about an hour ... when it's open again, we'll be on the new system." Siri Macallan says, "So tomorrow is the day." Eve Roquelaure gets an excited expression on her face and lets out a hearty cheer. Hope Fontaine applauds. Siri Macallan bounces in her seat excitedly. Trevor Rage grins. Ryan Montoya reaches over and gives Siri Macallan a triumphant high five. Siri Macallan says, "You won't have to reallocate immediately." Trevor Rage says, "So -make sure- if you have levels you've earned but not trained for, get them in now while you can." Siri Macallan says, "But you will have to do it by ... I think we decided the end of the month." Siri Macallan glances at Trevor Rage. Siri Macallan asks, "Right?" Sierra Hudson just left. Siri Macallan says, "In any case, you'll be able to plot and plan a little before you go into the reallocation area and change things around." Trevor Rage says, "Actually.. you get 10 logons. On #11 you're forced to reallocate. After 12/31/00 it's on first logon." Siri Macallan says, "Now, before we dig into number talk, which I know is going to predominate ..." Siri Macallan says, "I'd like to just say a few things about characters and skills." Siri Macallan says, "For everyone, this is a chance to remake your character." Siri Macallan asks, "Did you train in weird crud way back when?" Siri Macallan says, "You can fix it now." Siri Macallan asks, "Did you decide you hate being an academian?" Jewel Michaels raises her hand, noting she has a question. Siri Macallan says, "You don't have to be one now." Siri Macallan says, "You can have your character train in ANY of the skills which are offered." Dawn Palmer-DarkMoon raises her hand, noting she has a question. Siri Macallan says, "While I know most people are going to look at the skills and think, Hmm, what will I train in that will give me a way to get more noto and money easily ..." Siri Macallan says, "Or be badassed at combat..." Trevor Rage chuckles. Siri Macallan says, "I'd like to just pitch one for chosing a few for RP alone." Siri Macallan says, "Not all characters should be combat gurus." Siri Macallan says, "Not all characters will be paranormally inclined." Siri Macallan says, "As several people mentioned in the first reallocation forum, they were worried we'd turn into clones of each other." Siri Macallan says, "And it comes down to what you, yourself, decide to put your character's points into." Siri Macallan says, "I strongly encourage everyone to think with RP in mind for some of your skills ... they will be of use. If not immedately, then soon." Siri Macallan says, "And that's my plug for thinking IC when doing reallocation." Siri Macallan chuckles. Siri Macallan says, "Now let's go to the numbers." Thet Mes raises his hand, noting he has a question. Trevor Rage smiles. Trevor Rage says, "I'd love to go over every skill in detail and tell you everything it would be used for. However, there are a lot of things that aren't released yet, or even decided on." Trevor Rage says, "So, I'm going to comment on some of the current tasks you may want accomplish, what skills they use.. and you can ask about tasks I don't cover if you're unsure." Trevor Rage says, "While I'm going over things, if you want a skill list to refer to at any time, just type SKILL NEW." Trevor Rage says, "Acrobatics is fairly explanatory. Your flips, cartwheels and so on. It's used in combat too for defense. If you're a fighter, you'll want some points in either this or Evasion. Or both." Trevor Rage says, "Artistic Ability covers everything from painting, to sculpting to photography. There's a lot of possibility there." Trevor Rage says, "Climbing and Swimming are staple skills. You'll need them to access some areas. However, we -do- have some people who like to RP an intentional lack of skill. Fear of heights, a water phobia, etc." Trevor Rage says, "It means you'll have some areas you can't access, but it may be worth the RP value. That's for you to decide." Trevor Rage says, "Crafts is used for a lot of things. Dying items, making crafts and fashioning things, repairing weapons and armor and so on." Trevor Rage says, "Criminology and Forensics are die-hard mystery solving skills. If mysteries are your bag, you'll definitely want those." Verna Delancey raises her hand, noting she has a question. Trevor Rage says, "Dancing, Singing.. these are skills many of us have traditionally trained up. If you want to be a performer or just sing with finesse, there you go." Trevor Rage says, "Earth Science has a LOT of potential. Everything from looking for and identifying plants/gems etc. to a number of other uses. You may want to consider this one instead of just writing it off." Siri Macallan seems to agree! Trevor Rage says, "Economics has some neat potential. Now, I don't know what's down the road.. lots of ideas have been tossed around.. but the bottom line is, if money is a driving force for your character, maybe this skill should be too." Trevor Rage says, "Culinary Arts also works with a number of skills. The number of items you could prepare.. as food, or otherwise for other uses, is endless really." Trevor Rage says, "First Aid is a skill many of us already consider important. I'll tell you honestly, if you plan to go into dangerous territory, the more first aid you know, the better off you are." Trevor Rage says, "Explosives has many combat and non-combat possibilities. I'm sure you can think of many." Trevor Rage says, "Humanities covers everything from literature to theology. FOCUS SELF is based on it, and expect that it could very well tie into many other facets of life in the future." Trevor Rage says, "Lab Science is a paramount skill for mysteries, and it's also a skill with a lot of other potential outside of mysteries. Handling of items in a lab environment opens a lot of doors." Trevor Rage says, "Nautical is one of the things I'll be working on fairly soon, personally. I have some nice plans for it, but I won't elaborate yet. If you like the open sea, this is an important skill." Trevor Rage says, "ESP and Occult are the skills a paranormal direly needs. You don't have to train both, but you might want to. That's up to you. Each has its own facet. Example, mental abilities such as SENSE use ESP. Occult comes in handy when dealing with paranormal lore and artificats.. it's used for FOCUSing weapons." Trevor Rage says, "Prowling and Urban Tracking are used for Hiding/Skulking and Finding hiders/skulkers respectively. Expect to find many advantages to being able to sneak around, and expect tracking to have a number of vital uses. Tracking is essential to seeing what is not readily obvious, like hidden compartments or paths." Trevor Rage says, "Sports is well undervalued by many, I believe. Not only does it cover your traditional sports, but it also determines your ability in certain athletic feats. Example, jumping across a wide gap might use this, or being able to outrun something or someone. It's not just for 'sports' per se." Trevor Rage says, "Zoology is a support skill and will likely be tied into several systems that deal with animals. If you anticipate being in areas with animals or wanting to interact with them, or just know more about them, this is an important skill." Trevor Rage says, "Research. This is probably one of the most overlooked skills of all, because it's so general." Trevor Rage says, "However, that's exactly what makes it an important skill. There are amazing numbers of things it could be tied into. If you want a quick, simple one though.. in the new teaching system, research skill allows you to learn at a faster pace from a teacher." Alouis DeLaGlynn raises his hand, noting he has a question. Trevor Rage says, "Teaching, likewise, will determine how fast they learn, and will also determine how many students you may have at a time." Trevor Rage says, "Security will be important for a number of uses, the most obvious being picking locks." Trevor Rage says, "It's another skill you might want to consider strongly if you like to adventure around, as well." Jacob Kloe raises his hand, noting he has a question. Trevor Rage says, "Pilfering covers both thievery as well as sleight of hand, palming, concealing.. general 'hand magic'. No, you will not be able to rob other tourists, but if you choose to be a thief, you will be able to." Trevor Rage says, "The rest of the skills are obvious in their use, and none are unimportant." Matt Browne raises his hand, noting he has a question. Jackson Laredo raises his hand, noting he has a question. Jennifer Lilley raises her hand, noting she has a question. Trevor Rage says, "It is our explicit goal that every single skill on that list will have many uses. We want you to honestly wish you had plenty of points in every one of them. So, don't underestimate the value of them. If you choose to nestegg your points into a few skills, you may find it was risk that didn't pay off.. but that's for you to decide." Trevor Rage smiles. Siri Macallan gets a distant look on her face as she ponders. Trevor Rage says, "About the skill system.." Siri Macallan says, "While we have many different things we've slated to add to various skills, I'd be glad of hearing other suggestions for ways various skills can be used. If you want to send those to MO-Siri@play.net, that would be great." Trevor Rage smiles at Siri Macallan. Siri Macallan says, "Just remember that every skill you use will gain you notoriety." Trevor Rage says, "And using skills will raise those skills. Low skills rise quicker than high ones. Keep it in mind during reallocation." Trevor Rage says, "As for levels and notoriety.." Trevor Rage says, "You'll still gain notoriety, in your pool. As you have enough notoriety to level, you will gain levels automatically." Trevor Rage says, "No training, nothing at all even. You'll be notified. You'll receive something like this.." *** Congratulations, you've advanced to level 10! *** You have received an additional two body points! You qualify for a new title! Trevor Rage says, "That's a level 10 example." Trevor Rage says, "You'll be notified when you qualify for a new title, when you get more body points, and when you qualify for a home/addition to a home and fireworks." Siri Macallan says, "If it matters to you to get a wide breadth of skills during each level, keep your attention on how close you are to leveling, and diversify your actions." Trevor Rage says, "Regarding fireworks, for those who like to wait till friends are around, you won't receive them till your next logon, and even then, they will not pop up unless you're outside." Trevor Rage nods to Siri Macallan. Siri Macallan says, "You can only go up so many skill points, but the notoriety will still keep gaining ... from combat, for example." Siri Macallan says, "Okay ... one word of warning that I wish I didn't have to say, but best to just get it out there ..." Siri Macallan says, "Scripting is frowned upon for any sort of gain. There are ways in all of the skill usages so that no one can just push the enter key over and over and gain." Siri Macallan says, "And AFK scripting/learning/teaching, etc will get you locked out." Siri Macallan says, "I've done it before, and I won't hesitate to do it again." Siri Macallan says, "As always, you can still drain your noto pool while being AFK." Siri Macallan says, "But actively learning or gaining skills or noto while AFK is straight out." Sarah Ninesling raises her hand, noting she has a question. Siri Macallan says, "I think everyone knows about it, so 'nuff said." Trevor Rage says, "To add to that, passive learning AFK is also a policy violation. If you're sitting around in a room with someone hiding, you're gaining urban tracking skill if you see them and noto." Trevor Rage says, "So, either leave the room or set yourself AFK. "I forgot to turn on AFK" won't cut it either. Keep an eye on it folks, it's for the best of the whole game that we're strict on AFK learning." Trevor Rage says, "AFK Learning is serious business in Modus. Third offense is a permanent lockout. Permanent." Trevor Rage says, "Ok, that said..I'm going into reallocation.." Trevor Rage says, "As we said, you are forced to reallocate after 10 logons, or if you logon after 12/31." Trevor Rage says, "You may reallocate at any time once we turn the new skills on, by typing REALLOCATE CONFIRM also." Trevor Rage asks, "And guys, don't type REROLL CONFIRM ok?" Trevor Rage chuckles. Ryan Montoya grins. Trevor Rage says, "REALLOCATE CONFIRM. You'll have to type it a second time and then you're whisked away to reallocate." Trevor Rage says, "The reallocation process cannot be stopped once started and you only get to do it once. No exceptions.. so choose carefully. If you have a problem, you cannot ASSIST, but you -can- REPORT and we'll respond if someone is here." Trevor Rage says, "You may log off and log back on later if a GM doesn't respond to your REPORT, if you wish." Trevor Rage says, "You'll be back in reallocation when you logon." Trevor Rage says, "Reallocation is very similar to training now. You go in, you're told how many points you have." Trevor Rage says, "You'll type RAISE BY .. such as RAISE THROWNWEAPONS BY 100 .. or whatever." Trevor Rage says, "All skill names are one-worded.. thrownweapons, evasion, espability, etc. You can abbreviate." Trevor Rage says, "Amount can be positive like BY 100 or negative like BY -100. If you specify negative, you're 'selling back' those points, to put them somewhere else." Trevor Rage says, "When all your points are spent, you then type STOP and are returned to game, reallocation is over and you can begin using your new skills." Trevor Rage says, "Again, if you get stuck on anything, just REPORT." Trevor Rage says, "You must spend every point. I doubt any of us really wanted to ditch points anyway." Trevor Rage winks. Bryan Hit raises his hand, noting he has a question. Trevor Rage says, "Now.. when you logon after the turn the new skills on.." Mystic Morgan LeFox came through a pair of wooden doors. Trevor Rage says, "Before you ever reallocate you will -seem- to have points in the new skills. These are actually just the remnants of your old skill points. Don't freak out. Use the skills if you want to even, but after 10 logons or 12/31/00, you're going to have to reallocate." Jon Garfield raises his hand, noting he has a question. Trevor Rage says, "Alright.. I don't know what else to blab out, so let's begin the questions.." Trevor Rage smiles. Joy Nalewi now has the floor. Vincent Euiena raises his hand, noting he has a question. Trevor Rage says, "Looks like the question thing is acting up again." Trevor Rage babbles incoherently. Trevor Rage asks, "Joy, have a question?" Trevor Rage smiles. Floyd Barrett raises his hand, noting he has a question. Siri Macallan says, "Just remember that none of this is bad ... it's just different." Siri Macallan grins. Siri Macallan says, "We all get used to different eventually. Usually much sooner than we think we will." Trevor Rage smiles. Siri Macallan says, "I'm really excited about this. It's something we've all be working towards for the last four years." Trevor Rage says, "By the way, seems a few names are left over from the last forum. If I call you and you have no question, just let me know." Joy Nalewi says, "Ack, sorry, I'm completely fogged in" Joy Nalewi flails her arms about. Trevor Rage grins. Joy Nalewi says, "Is there any way you guys could make up a few skill "packages" to make reallocation easier" Joy Nalewi says, "Say you select Outdoorsman, and get a certain set of skills" Joy Nalewi says, "Or Artisan, or something like that" Siri Macallan says, "We probably could, but we won't." Siri Macallan ducks her head. Joy Nalewi laughs! Joy Nalewi says, "Okay, thanks" Joy Nalewi winks. Siri Macallan says, "Just because then you wouldn't have the exact skills you wanted to have." Trevor Rage says, "It's a neat idea, but the time contraints as well as they likely "You gave me skills that suck!" statements would be a problem." Trevor Rage grins. Joy Nalewi grins. Joy Nalewi nods. Joy Nalewi says, "I can see that... it might just make deciding easier" Joy Nalewi says, "I hate decisions" Joy Nalewi grins. Joy Nalewi laughs! Trevor Rage chuckles. Trevor Rage says, "ok.." Having finished, Joy Nalewi takes a seat nearby. Leila Meridian now has the floor. Siri Macallan says, "Hey, Leila." Trevor Rage asks, "Leila asked: Would things like Culinary Arts and Earth Science help with solving a mystery like, say, the herb one at the Pub's Restaurant?" Siri Macallan says, "I believe one or the other would, yes." Leila Meridian exclaims, "Hey, thanks, Leila!" Siri Macallan nods. Leila Meridian jumps into the air and gives Trevor Rage a triumphant high five. Trevor Rage grins. Leila Meridian nods. Leila Meridian exclaims, "Okay, then, thanks!" Alexander Du'Callin raises his hand, noting he has a question. Siri Macallan exclaims, "Sure!" Siri Macallan grins. Leila Meridian grins. Walt Zanderbilt raises his hand, noting he has a question. Having finished, Leila Meridian takes a seat nearby. Rain Beringer now has the floor. Rain Beringer blinks. Rain Beringer says, "Yeah Im left over" Rain Beringer ducks her head. Trevor Rage chuckles. Having finished, Rain Beringer takes a seat nearby. Tara DiVassario now has the floor. Trevor Rage asks, "Tara: You mentioned theivery. Are there any plans to introduce a stealing option for players where they can steal from fellow tourists?" Tara DiVassario grins. Tara DiVassario nods. Siri Macallan says, "Nope." Tara DiVassario says, "Good" Tara DiVassario chuckles. Tara DiVassario says, "Thank you" Tara DiVassario grins. Siri Macallan grins. Siri Macallan says, "Welcome." Leila Meridian raises her hand, noting she has a question. Having finished, Tara DiVassario takes a seat nearby. Jewel Michaels now has the floor. Trevor Rage asks, "Jewel: will there be an explanation of the skills to remind us of there use when we are reallocating?" Jewel Michaels smiles, showing her dimple. Trevor Rage says, "No, there's not. There is a brief explanation on my website, but there's only so much detail we can give." Jewel Michaels says, "I hope I remember it all " Trevor Rage says, "Particularly on future plans. A lot of future plans are either top secret or they're still in discussion." Jewel Michaels says, "I didn't train things because I didn't know what they were for" Siri Macallan says, "Well ..." Trevor Rage says, "Well, I suggest you go over the skill list of ahead of time and plan out the skills you think you need most. That will help a lot." Trevor Rage smiles. Siri Macallan asks, "Are they things your character would want to know about?" Siri Macallan says, "If so, train in them." Siri Macallan says, "If not, don't." Joy Nalewi raises her hand, noting she has a question. Jewel Michaels says, "thank you" Jewel Michaels nods to Sarah Ninesling. Jewel Michaels nods to Matt Browne. Having finished, Jewel Michaels takes a seat nearby. Dawn Palmer-DarkMoon now has the floor. Trevor Rage asks, "Dawn: Will we be able to change professions and not lose levels?" Trevor Rage says, "Yes. Your profession can be changed at any time with PROFESSION. It does not cost anything to change, you simply just need to have enough points in certain skills for each profession." Having finished, Dawn Palmer-DarkMoon takes a seat nearby. Thet Mes now has the floor. Dawn Palmer-DarkMoon raises her hand, noting she has a question. Trevor Rage asks, "Thet: If I understand correctly, any training points we have now, in reserve, will be lost. Is that because we're doing away with training altogether? If so, what else might we loseduring reallocation -- what are some pitfalls we should be careful of when going through this process?" Siri Macallan says, "Hi, Thet." Trevor Rage smiles. Thet Mes says, "Hey, Siri." Trevor Rage says, "Your training points are not being lost. They are being converted to spendable free points." Trevor Rage says, "If you are level 10+, for every 2 training points you have unspent, you will receive 1 free point to spend on a skill." Trevor Rage says, "If you are under 10, every 3 training points equals 1 free point." Trevor Rage asks, "Did that make sense?" Trevor Rage smiles. Thet Mes asks, "By training points, you mean the points we get when we go in to train.. the ones that take, say, sixteen to raise a skill by four?" Trevor Rage nods. Trevor Rage says, "Right.. each level you receive 100 or whatever training points currently, which you spend on skills. That's what I mean by training points." Trevor Rage nods. Thet Mes asks, "I'm on the east coast.. that Tyson's Corner router is hitting me hard, sorry.. For example, right now.. when I type noto, I have one training point. If I had fourteen, I'd receive eight free points, that's what you're saying?" Trevor Rage says, "You'd receive 7.. 14 / 2 = 7." Trevor Rage nods. Trevor Rage says, "Those are the very training points tho, yes." Trevor Rage smiles. Thet Mes says, "Okay." Thet Mes grins. Trevor Rage smiles. Trevor Rage says, "Thanks Thet." Thet Mes says, "I have other questions, but I'll get back in line." Thet Mes sighs. Thet Mes grins. Trevor Rage nods. Having finished, Thet Mes takes a seat nearby. Verna Delancey now has the floor. Trevor Rage asks, "Verna: If someone trains in the skills that are not released yet and those skills become void, will we reallocate those skill points?" Verna Delancey says, "Hello" Trevor Rage says, "Hello." Trevor Rage smiles. Verna Delancey smiles. Siri Macallan says, "No skills will be void." Siri Macallan says, "They all have uses planned for them." Verna Delancey exclaims, "Great!" Verna Delancey says, "That's what I was worried about." Siri Macallan says, "We had that with the last system, and that's one of the reasons we're changing over ... so every skill has a use." Thet Mes raises his hand, noting he has a question. Verna Delancey nods. Verna Delancey asks, "Well does this mean we will see more shops then? to accommodate the skills?" Siri Macallan says, "Maybe." Siri Macallan chuckles. Verna Delancey says, "I have old Mockingbird painting stuff is what I mean" Siri Macallan says, "If a skill use requires items, they'll be available." Verna Delancey asks, "Will that still be utilized or should I ditch it?" Verna Delancey says, "ah ok thanks" Verna Delancey says, "that's it" Trevor Rage smiles. Having finished, Verna Delancey takes a seat nearby. Alouis DeLaGlynn now has the floor. Trevor Rage asks, "Alouis: What will happen with lower lever folks who have more points to reallocate than they have skills to put them in. IE: 1540 points divided by 44 skills is more than 10 points per skill. Are they just SOL?" Trevor Rage says, "Your cap is raised to accomodate." Alouis DeLaGlynn nods. Trevor Rage says, "If you want the math.. in that case, your cap becomes (freepoints you have / 44) + 1" Trevor Rage says, "So if you have 2000 points, (2000 / 44) + 1" Alouis DeLaGlynn asks, "Ok, so I first level could have say, 30 pts per level?" Trevor Rage says, "/ is 'divided by'.. by the way." Trevor Rage says, "You could, yes." Alouis DeLaGlynn nods. Trevor Rage says, "Thanks." Having finished, Alouis DeLaGlynn takes a seat nearby. Matt Browne now has the floor. Matt Browne asks, "need me to repeat?" Trevor Rage asks, "what about archaeology? any immediate uses for it?" Trevor Rage grins. Trevor Rage says, "That's Matt." Matt Browne nods. Siri Macallan says, "Archaeology will be in use, and it will be for digs and what not, not to mention some mystery applications. The actual system won't be in until next year though." Matt Browne nods. Matt Browne asks, "treasure hunting maybe?" Matt Browne grins. Jesse Jones raises his hand, noting he has a question. Alouis DeLaGlynn raises his hand, noting he has a question. Siri Macallan says, "Could be." Siri Macallan grins. Siri Macallan says, "There are several different applications I have in mind for it." Trevor Rage says, "Thanks." Trevor Rage smiles. Matt Browne nods. Having finished, Matt Browne takes a seat nearby. Sarah Ninesling now has the floor. Sarah Ninesling asks, "help" Trevor Rage says, "Ah, much better." Trevor Rage asks, "Help?" Sarah Ninesling says, "woops" Trevor Rage grins. Sarah Ninesling says, "I meant to type to see when i would be in line" Trevor Rage chuckles. Sarah Ninesling says, "But my original question was..." Sarah Ninesling says, "Would there be only a certain amount of skill points you could raise per level after reallocation" Trevor Rage says, "There is no post-reallocation cap, no." Sarah Ninesling says, "ok thanks" Sarah Ninesling sits down. Trevor Rage says, "There IS a lifetime cap." Trevor Rage says, "16,500. Typing SKILL shows how close you are to that cap, at the bottom." Trevor Rage says, "Once you hit 16,500 total points over all your skills, you are maxed for life." Trevor Rage says, "And of course no single skill can go over 500." Having finished, Sarah Ninesling takes a seat nearby. Bryan Hit now has the floor. Bryan Hit asks, "will we go into the reallocation process with all zeros in each skill, or will there be some skill points there that we will have to sell back to place elsewhere?" Trevor Rage says, "You will go in with a blank sheet and a stack of points to spend." Trevor Rage says, "As soon as you enter reallocation, your old skills are history and your pocket is full of free points. " Trevor Rage says, "Thanks Bryan." Trevor Rage smiles. Having finished, Bryan Hit takes a seat nearby. Jon Garfield now has the floor. Jon Garfield asks, "I get a file error when I try to download the sssheet.exe program from your web site. Any ideas what's wrong? I tried getting it yesterday and today both, as well as both saving it and opening it from the site, to no avail." Trevor Rage asks, "Do you have Microsoft Excel?" Jon Garfield says, "Nope, or I wouldn't be trying to get the viewer" Jon Garfield chuckles. Trevor Rage says, "Ah, sorry, sssheet.exe" Trevor Rage says, "Tell ya what, email me exactly what happens and I'll check it out." Jon Garfield asks, "What happened to the viewer you mentioned when the calculator was first up? Could I try that?" Jon Garfield says, "I noticed it changed" Jon Garfield says, "ok" Trevor Rage says, "Well, the viewer doesn't allow you to change anything, so the calculator won't work." Jon Garfield says, "ahh" Jon Garfield says, "thanks" Trevor Rage says, "And by the way, the 'sssheet.exe' program is not Mac friendly. PC's only." Jon Garfield nods. Trevor Rage says, "Thanks Jon." Trevor Rage smiles. Having finished, Jon Garfield takes a seat nearby. Vincent Euiena now has the floor. Vincent Euiena asks, "I'm deeply concerned about where my skills will reallocate if I want to just convert what I have now to its new other in the new skills." Vincent Euiena says, "I should probably explain what I mean by that." Trevor Rage asks, "In other words, you're worried about whether 200 blunt would be as valuable in the new system as it is in the old?" Siri Macallan says, "Basically you want a one on one list of what the old will be in the new." Vincent Euiena says, "You've been talking about all this that people can do if they trained in skills they don't want or if they want to change what they know." Trevor Rage begins chuckling at Siri Macallan. Vincent Euiena shakes his head. Vincent Euiena nods to Siri Macallan. Vincent Euiena says, "I like what I have." Trevor Rage says, "We read that two different ways." Trevor Rage nods. Vincent Euiena says, "And I'm worried I won't know what skills they will be in the new system." Vincent Euiena says, "I think i'll just mostly funnel my skills now into their new counterparts, but I don't know all of them." Vincent Euiena says, "And I won't be happy if I put my points in a skill, thinking it's the new version of my own one." Vincent Euiena says, "And i'm wrong." Trinity Lee came through a pair of wooden doors. Trevor Rage says, "Well, do you have certain skills in mind? " Vincent Euiena says, "Yep, pretty much all of them." Trevor Rage chuckles. Siri Macallan says, "Some are pretty self explainitory." Vincent Euiena says, "I was hoping maybe you'd have a conversion list." Siri Macallan asks, "What are a few you can't really figure out?" Vincent Euiena says, "Because before you decided on which reallocation method you'd use, you had one for the partial." Siri Macallan says, "That was a while back." Vincent Euiena says, "I'd have to go thru them and I don't want to hold up the form here." Jubilee Farver shifts her weight. Vincent Euiena says, "I'm just really, really worried I won't know what skill is what in the new system." Vincent Euiena says, "Because there's no list." Siri Macallan says, "I don't have a list to give you right now, and I can't guarantee that we'll have one up by tomorrow either." Vincent Euiena scratches his head, looking a bit confused. Vincent Euiena says, "Oh boy." Siri Macallan says, "But some skills are very obvious." Vincent Euiena says, "So what can I do? I guess that would be my main point." Vincent Euiena says, "I can't reverse it once I go thru." Vincent Euiena says, "And i'm pretty happy with most of my skills." Siri Macallan says, "Vincent, since this is a new system, look over what there is on there." Siri Macallan says, "Then decide if your character would like to know those." Siri Macallan says, "Then train in those." Siri Macallan says, "Lockpicking is handled by Security." Vincent Euiena nods. Bryan Hit raises his hand, noting he has a question. Siri Macallan says, "That's my favorite one." Vincent Euiena asks, "I guess it would be too much to ask Trevor to put up that old partial reallocation list again, huh?" Vincent Euiena says, "Retorical question." Siri Macallan says, "It's not accurate anymore." Jewel Michaels raises her hand, noting she has a question. Vincent Euiena says, "I know, i'm only allowed one." Vincent Euiena says, "Alright. Thanks, I guess." Siri Macallan says, "But I really can only suggest, heartily, that you look at the new skills and see how you feel they apply to your character." Vincent Euiena shrugs. Vincent Euiena says, "I just don't want to pick the wrong thing thinking it's something else is all./" Siri Macallan says, "I understand, Vincent." Siri Macallan nods. Siri Macallan says, "Most of them I'm sure you and they can figure out." Siri Macallan says, "Some of the others, we can help with ... Trevor's discussion of how some are used covered many of the bases." Vincent Euiena asks, "They?" Siri Macallan says, "Sorry typing faster than I think." Siri Macallan chuckles. Siri Macallan says, "YOU." Vincent Euiena nods. Vincent Euiena says, "I guess i'll think of something. Thanks." Siri Macallan says, "I'm sure you will." Vincent Euiena smiles weakly. Siri Macallan says, "Welcome." Trevor Rage smiles. Having finished, Vincent Euiena takes a seat nearby. Alexander Du'Callin now has the floor. Alexander Du'Callin asks, "will the new professions be available to us when we Reallocate our skills so we can switch our profession when we are done reallocting? or are we not going to be able to change yet?" Trevor Rage says, "You will be able to change professions immediately after you reallocate, if you qualify for a profession. Almost every player should qualify for a least a profession or two, if not several, from the start. Our higher level players will qualify for a ton probably." Trevor Rage says, "However, we are -not- releasing a list of the professions. You'll just have to get the skills to see what's available." Trevor Rage grins. Alexander Du'Callin says, "figured as much...feels good to move my mouth after bein quit so long" Trevor Rage says, "There are over 300 professions. Enjoy the hunt." Trevor Rage grins. Trevor Rage grins at Alexander Du'Callin. Alexander Du'Callin says, "thanks much" Alexander Du'Callin sits down. Trevor Rage nods. Having finished, Alexander Du'Callin takes a seat nearby. Walt Zanderbilt now has the floor. Walt Zanderbilt asks, "Any truth to the rumours that it is eventually planned that skills will atrophy with lack of use, and that you must keep them growing or they will start to go away?" Siri Macallan says, "No truth to that." Trevor Rage says, "No. Stats will atrophy but not below 30. Skills will not." Siri Macallan says, "Only on attributes." Siri Macallan says, "Stats = attributes." Trevor Rage nods to Siri Macallan. Trevor Rage says, "Strength, Agility, Dexterity, Vitality." Trevor Rage smiles. Having finished, Walt Zanderbilt takes a seat nearby. Floyd Barrett now has the floor. Floyd Barrett asks, "I got knocked off so I don't know if my question is still there....What is the maximum amount we can raise a skill per level?" Trevor Rage says, "During reallocation? Your level x 10. After, no cap per level." Trevor Rage smiles. Floyd Barrett asks, "I thought Siri said earlier that you can only gain so much per skill per level...or did I hear wrong?" Siri Macallan says, "You keep gaining noto too, so when it's time to hit new level, that's the amount of skills you can have gone up." Siri Macallan says, "If that makes sense." Trevor Rage says, "Depending on your play habits, you may level quicker than you gain skills, but there is no hard cap." Siri Macallan says, "The notoriety amount for each level provides its own cap of how many skill points can be gained overall. How you choose to gain is up to you." Amanda Jackson raises her hand, noting she has a question. Floyd Barrett says, "ah I think I get it now." Trevor Rage nods. Trevor Rage says, "Thanks, Floyd." Having finished, Floyd Barrett takes a seat nearby. Leila Meridian now has the floor. Leila Meridian asks, "What about the teaching/notoriety skills? Obviously, people who train in teaching and stuff are going to have a major advantage over people who hunt, if we keep it the way it is. Any plans to change that?" Matt Browne raises his hand, noting he has a question. Trevor Rage asks, "You mean, will teaching provide non-pooled noto?" Verna Delancey raises her hand, noting she has a question. Leila Meridian nods. Leila Meridian says, "Yessir." Amanda Jackson raises her hand, noting she has a question. Trevor Rage says, "Yes, but the amounts have been changed and are always subject to change in the future. Right now it's 200 non-pooled noto per hour per student." Trevor Rage says, "With your max students being 2 to 8, skill-based." Jess Whiterose raises his hand, noting he has a question. Trevor Rage says, "However, what they gain in extra noto, they lose in cash and in freedom to go out and do other things. It balances out." Leila Meridian asks, "Can I ask one more eensy question related to teaching?" Leila Meridian ducks her head. Trevor Rage nods. Leila Meridian beams happily. Leila Meridian asks, "If I wanted to be a teacher, could I use a facility say like the U of M and teach 'classes' there?" Trevor Rage says, "There is no special support built into the game currently, but you can certainly announce to others that you are teaching a class in the University." Trevor Rage says, "It wouldn't provide any special bonus or anything, currently." Leila Meridian nods. Trevor Rage says, "Thanks, Leila." Trevor Rage smiles. Leila Meridian exclaims, "Thank you!" GameMaster Trevor Rage just went north. GameMaster Trevor Rage just arrived. Trevor Rage coughs. Trevor Rage whistles a cheerful tune. Trevor Rage nods. Leila Meridian smiles. Leila Meridian says, "Uh, bye Trev." Trevor Rage laughs! Having finished, Leila Meridian takes a seat nearby. Thet Mes now has the floor. Thet Mes asks, "With this system of raising a skill by doing an action that uses the skill.. does that mean that after reallocation, the days of typing RAISE BY are over, or will we still be given points to use as we desire each time we level?" Trevor Rage says, "No points. Those days are over." Thet Mes asks, "Or will it be a combination of both?" Trevor Rage grins. Thet Mes says, "Okay. So whatever we do between levelling, we'll have to do by actually DOING stuff, in order to raise those skills." Trevor Rage nods to Thet Mes. Thet Mes nods. Thet Mes sits down. Siri Macallan nods. Trevor Rage says, "You can't raise, say, evasion.. without... evading. Well, short of a class in evasion from another player." Having finished, Thet Mes takes a seat nearby. Jesse Jones now has the floor. Jesse Jones asks, "Do we gain more noto by using lower skills?" Trevor Rage says, "No. You gain a small amount of pooled noto per skill use, regardless of the level of skill. Your low skills will build quicker than high ones, thoug." Trevor Rage says, "er, though." Jesse Jones nods. Trevor Rage says, "Thanks." Trevor Rage smiles. Jesse Jones nods. Having finished, Jesse Jones takes a seat nearby. Alouis DeLaGlynn now has the floor. Alouis DeLaGlynn asks, "I thought the profession verb would be "live" as soon as the new system was, and that we would then know what specific levels of what certain skills we would need to attain individual job-titles... so, for example, if one of the job titles was Doctor, we'd know what we had to reallocate to BE a doctor. Was I mistaken? we will just have to take a job our skills fit instead of learning skills to fit a job?" Trevor Rage says, "Nope. The professions and what skills they require are a puzzle to solve. You can probably guess, in most cases, which skills are vital for a job." Siri Macallan says, "You can always opt to not show a professional title if your skills you don't train in garner something you like." Vincent Euiena raises his hand, noting he has a question. Trevor Rage says, "Some professions require a certain amount in only one skill. Other professions may require points in 6 or 7 skills. Depends on the profession and that's for you to figure out." Alouis DeLaGlynn asks, "So if I have my heart set on being a doctor, and I find out I reallocated wrong, I'm just outta luck untill I can get enough training?" Meda Fyre raises her hand, noting she has a question. Trevor Rage nods to Alouis DeLaGlynn. Trevor Rage says, "Yep." Siri Macallan says, "There are only a few skills even remotely associated with the medical profession." Alouis DeLaGlynn says, "Well, I don't wanna be a doctor. I used that as an example." Siri Macallan says, "As did I." Siri Macallan chuckles. Trevor Rage says, "All of the professions were decided based on common sense. There are no intentional curveball skills. That doesn't mean you can guess them all of course, but many you should be able to guess." Alouis DeLaGlynn says, "So if I've been playing my character as a "doctor" all this time, and I reallocate wrong, that's just too bad." Trevor Rage says, "You hide your profession and continue RPing a "doctor". Your RP is not limited by your profession." Alouis DeLaGlynn says, "But I thought professions were to be a role-playing aid." Alouis DeLaGlynn says, "Oh well. You've answered me. Thanks." Trevor Rage says, "Thanks Alouis. I understand it does put you in a position where you might not be able to actually set your profession as you want. That's not our intent. But putting some mystery into the process is. I'm sure if that happens to you, you will overcome it with superior RP to compensate." Trevor Rage smiles. Trevor Rage says, "Thanks." Trevor Rage smiles. Having finished, Alouis DeLaGlynn takes a seat nearby. Bryan Hit now has the floor. Bryan Hit asks, "I'm a little nervous about how these changes will effect areas with combat, and also worried about how to place the skills for combat, too. Do you have any kind of advice as to ways to evenly balance the combat skills as it pertains to your specific level?" Bryan Hit grins. Trevor Rage says, "Yes. Perp skills are balanced at 2.5 skill points per level. If you want to fight level 70 things, have at least 2.5 x 70 points in your weapon skill and evasion and/or acrobatics." Trevor Rage says, "Perps will always assume 2.5 skill pts. per their level on any skill check." Bryan Hit asks, "is it okay to have only one combat skill high?" Bryan Hit asks, "like knife or blunt, for instance?" Trevor Rage says, "If you want a small advantage, put 2.7 or 3 pts per level in your combat skills. That's up to you and how good your equipment is also." Trevor Rage nods. Bryan Hit says, "okay" Bryan Hit says, "thanks" Siri Macallan says, "But as a reminder, if you max out all your combat skills, you'll suck at the other things." Bryan Hit grins. Trevor Rage says, "You only need one weapon skill (or one unarmed skill) in most cases. I won't guarantee that you'll never need, say, grappling.. but for the most part, one offense skill is a sufficient minimum." Siri Macallan says, "That's how the system is designed." Bryan Hit says, "i know. that's the part i'm trying to allow for" Bryan Hit says, "allowing for the fun stuff but keeping the combat high is going to be hard" Bryan Hit pouts. Siri Macallan says, "Not really. Specialize." Siri Macallan says, "Pick one or two modes of combat you want, then let the rest go, or train up as you go." Bryan Hit nods. Bryan Hit crosses his fingers. Cyric LeClerc raises his hand, noting he has a question. Trevor Rage says, "Well, you have the baseline there. If you want to hunt your level as your minimum, put 2.5 pts per your level in one weapon OR one unarmed skill, and also the same amount of points in either evasion OR acrobatics. Wallah, there's your baseline combat." Dylan Perry raises his hand, noting he has a question. Trevor Rage says, "Thanks Bryan." Bryan Hit asks, "okay, and where it w2ould pertain to CvC comabt?" Trevor Rage smiles. Bryan Hit asks, "er combat?" Trevor Rage says, "Ah.." Gumshoe Ichiko Daiumi came through a pair of wooden doors. Bryan Hit says, "wait. someone else can ask that if they want" Trevor Rage says, "Well that's different. If you have 200 blunt and Joe has 500 fencing or whatever.. he's gonna beat you silly." Trevor Rage says, "If you both have 200 and similar gear, you're an even match." Bryan Hit says, "ah, okay. that's what i was afriad of." Bryan Hit gets a distant look on his face as he ponders. Siri Macallan says, "Same as in real life." Siri Macallan shrugs. Siri Macallan grins. Bryan Hit nods. Trevor Rage says, "If you want to be the BEST at CvC, your only choice is 500 in your weapon and 500 evasion or acro. Simple as that." Trevor Rage chuckles. Bryan Hit says, "but all too easy for some to take advantage of" Trevor Rage says, "It comes at a cost." Trevor Rage smiles. Siri Macallan says, "That's life on the streets." Eve Roquelaure grins at Siri Macallan. Siri Macallan whistles a cheerful tune. Bryan Hit says, "true. just don't like seeing that stuff too much is all" Trevor Rage says, "CvC is optional." Trevor Rage grins. Trevor Rage says, "Thanks, Bryan." Having finished, Bryan Hit takes a seat nearby. Jewel Michaels now has the floor. Jewel Michaels asks, "will there be ways to use skills like cullianry arts in the future because there is no way to cook that I know of now?" Siri Macallan says, "Yep. Absolutely." Siri Macallan says, "It won't be in for a little bit, but it's coming." Jewel Michaels says, "as well as other skills like that" Siri Macallan nods. Trevor Rage says, "Every skill on the list." Trevor Rage grins. Siri Macallan says, "All the skills will have a use." Jewel Michaels says, "great" Jewel Michaels says, "thank you" Jewel Michaels says, "one more" Jewel Michaels says, "will new characters decide where to put there skills" Siri Macallan asks, "They get an even spread of ... what? 30 in each skill?" Jewel Michaels says, "if you start a new character" Trevor Rage says, "35." Jewel Michaels says, "ok thank you" Trevor Rage says, "You get 35 pts in each skill by default." Jewel Michaels says, "thanks " Trevor Rage says, "Thanks." Trevor Rage smiles. Jewel Michaels sits down next to Bryan Hit. Having finished, Jewel Michaels takes a seat nearby. Matt Browne now has the floor. Matt Browne asks, "do you gain skills slower at higher notoriety levels or is the rate based solely on the level of that skill?" Trevor Rage says, "Solely on the level of skill." Trevor Rage says, "Thanks." Trevor Rage smiles. Having finished, Matt Browne takes a seat nearby. Verna Delancey now has the floor. Verna Delancey asks, "Will the levels of notoriety mind states change?" Trevor Rage says, "Nope. Those will be the same." Verna Delancey asks, "So we won't be constantly at fried mind?" Trevor Rage says, "How fast your pool drains and how much noto your pool holds will also not change." Verna Delancey says, "I hope." Trevor Rage says, "You may be. It won't affect you badly if you are." Verna Delancey says, "That's what I'm concerned about, leveling too fast, I mean." Alouis DeLaGlynn raises his hand, noting he has a question. Trevor Rage says, "The pool drains at the same rate, whether your pool is 100% full or 10% full." Verna Delancey says, "Cause I can fry my mind realy fast." Trevor Rage says, "So, having a full pool all the time isn't a big deal." Verna Delancey says, "Well sometimes I get checks for it." Verna Delancey ducks her head. Verna Delancey asks, "At that time should I go AFK mode then so it drains?" Trevor Rage says, "It's not like, say, GS3 or DR, where your pool drains faster if full and slow if low." Trevor Rage says, "There's no reason to, it won't do anything for you. Just let it stay full." Trevor Rage smiles. Verna Delancey asks, "Why am I getting checks then?" Verna Delancey gets a distant look on her face as she ponders. Trevor Rage asks, "What do you mean by checks?" Verna Delancey says, "I get random strange messages" Verna Delancey says, "Today I got something about I feel unusual or something like that." Trevor Rage says, "Could be RP awards, or other game systems. It's not related to your pool at all tho." Verna Delancey says, "Not rp" Verna Delancey says, "I would see it" Siri Macallan nods. Trevor Rage says, "Ah, that's a completely different game system.. has nothing to do with your pool." Silvana StoneSkye raises her hand, noting she has a question. Verna Delancey says, "oh" Verna Delancey blushes a nice shade of off-pink. Verna Delancey says, "First time I got one I guess." Verna Delancey says, "Because that's what DR does." Verna Delancey says, "when your mind state is too full" Trevor Rage grins. Verna Delancey says, "Thanks" Trevor Rage says, "Nope, totally different issue here." Trevor Rage says, "You're welcome." Trevor Rage smiles. Having finished, Verna Delancey takes a seat nearby. Amanda Jackson now has the floor. Amanda Jackson asks, "Tomorrow, with the skill change will the perps and locations change in any way or will it just be the way we interact with them in combat and stuff?" Trevor Rage says, "They'll be in the same spot. But, since you brought that up.. some will act differently." Amanda Jackson raises an eyebrow. Trevor Rage says, "Miners have lost their 'duplicating' power but gained a new attack. Messaging is different, and stalkers don't use the 'dust' attack tho that was omitted accidentally and will be added back in soon." Amanda Jackson snickers. Amanda Jackson says, "good, they always get me" Trevor Rage says, "Bandits dropped sucker punch and I'm not sure if I'll re-add it or not. They do a number of moves tho." Amanda Jackson asks, "but like no new perps/areas will be added tomorrow?" Trevor Rage says, "Constables will also be taken away, but only temporarily while I do some modifications." Amanda Jackson asks, "though i assume they will come in the future?" Verna Delancey raises her hand, noting she has a question. Trevor Rage says, "Nope, but I do want to get some new ones out there for much higher level skill as soon as I can work it in." Trevor Rage says, "When that is will depend on my schedule (and the schedules of other GM's building areas)." Amanda Jackson exclaims, "k, thanks!" Trevor Rage smiles. Trevor Rage nods. Having finished, Amanda Jackson takes a seat nearby. Jess Whiterose now has the floor. Jess Whiterose asks, "I thought in an earlier forum you did say that a skill say evasion for example could still only be raised 4 points per level? Any one skill would be capped at 4 points increase each level." Siri Macallan says, "We changed our minds." Jewel Michaels raises her hand, noting she has a question. Siri Macallan grins. Siri Macallan says, "It's 500 cap lifetime." Trevor Rage says, "At one point that was the plan. It was ditched. There no longer is a per level cap after reallocation. You wanna work blunt all day till it's 500 and you're nowhere near level 200? Go for it." Jess Whiterose says, "Alright, I noticed this in the answers earlier just had to confirm it" Trevor Rage nods to Jess Whiterose. Trevor Rage says, "Thanks Jess." Trevor Rage smiles. Having finished, Jess Whiterose takes a seat nearby. Vincent Euiena now has the floor. Vincent Euiena asks, "I know, I know, you said you don't want to give away the professions. But alot of us might want to keep our professions too, and don't want to play "Hide the profession". So can you at LEAST give us the requirements for the seven basic professions that exsist now? It only seems fair for those who wanted to be who they are and besides, consider it a little bonus for all our hard work. You've got two hundred of them after all." Vincent Euiena grins. Vincent Euiena says, "Big breath." Siri Macallan says, "Fraid not, Vincent." Siri Macallan says, "We're not going to issue a list of professions." Vincent Euiena asks, "Cammon! Please?" Vincent Euiena grins. Siri Macallan says, "Nope." Siri Macallan smiles. Vincent Euiena asks, "Not even one?" Vincent Euiena asks, "Not even here?" Siri Macallan says, "GM comes with being insane and overworked. Two very good skills to have." Siri Macallan says, "There, that's one." Siri Macallan winks. Eve Roquelaure grins. Vincent Euiena says, "I'll remember that." Vincent Euiena chuckles. Trevor Rage laughs! Vincent Euiena says, "Then i'll have the power." Vincent Euiena grins. Siri Macallan says, "Frankly there will be a lot of people who have professions to chose from tomorrow." Vincent Euiena raises an eyebrow. Vincent Euiena raises an eyebrow. Siri Macallan says, "I'm certain people will be comparing and contrasting." Vincent Euiena says, "Well, alright. I just want to make sure I get it right." Vincent Euiena chuckles. Trevor Rage smiles. Siri Macallan says, "A list, even if slightly inaccurate, will almost surely be set up eventually." Vincent Euiena says, "Really really wanna be who I am." Vincent Euiena says, "Hey, got to give me credit for trying." Siri Macallan says, "Vincent ... my point in my RP discussion earlier was that if you chose the skills your character would truly want to learn, your character will remain your character." Trevor Rage says, "I encourage you all to work together to figure out those professions, by the way. Since we're not helping, work at it together." Trevor Rage grins. Rain Beringer raises her hand, noting she has a question. Thet Mes raises his hand, noting he has a question. Vincent Euiena says, "Touche." Vincent Euiena chuckles. Trevor Rage says, "Thanks, Vincent." Trevor Rage smiles. Vincent Euiena says, "Gotta try. But thanks anyway." Vincent Euiena smiles at Trevor Rage. Trevor Rage smiles. Having finished, Vincent Euiena takes a seat nearby. Meda Fyre now has the floor. Meda Fyre asks, "I noticed on the level 10 example it mentioned a title. Will the titles and levels they occour at change?" Trevor Rage says, "Yes. Glad you brough it up." Matt Browne raises his hand, noting he has a question. Trevor Rage says, "Titles are drastically changing. First of all, we are removing the profession-based titles, i.e. "Commander" etc. We may re-add them, we're looking into it as a possibility but it will not be immediate." Meda Fyre nods. Trevor Rage says, "Secondly, the level required for a profession is changing to a new scale. Example, "Sir" or "Dame" is level 190 on the new scale." Trevor Rage says, "er title, not profession." Trevor Rage winks. Meda Fyre grins. Meda Fyre says, "There goes being Mystic Meda" Meda Fyre snaps her fingers. Trevor Rage says, "You get a title every 10 levels.. 10, 20, etc up to 200. So by 200, you have 20 titles available to you." Meda Fyre asks, "And they will be the same regardless of profession, for the time being?" Trevor Rage says, "This is the base title system and we may be adding to it in the near future.. but that's how it works as of tomorrow." Trevor Rage nods to Meda Fyre. Meda Fyre says, "Thanks" Meda Fyre grins. Meda Fyre sits down. Trevor Rage says, "Welcome." Trevor Rage smiles. Having finished, Meda Fyre takes a seat nearby. Dylan Perry now has the floor. Dylan Perry asks, "You mentioned only one combat skill is good, but i'm playing with the idea of maxing out in Punch, kick, throw and grapple to attempt to be a martial artist,is that plausible?" Trevor Rage nods to Dylan Perry. Dylan Perry says, "plus acro and evasion of course" Trevor Rage says, "Yes, it's plausible. You will burn a lot of points, but you will have the most combat moves available to you, the most choices in your fights." Dylan Perry nods. Dylan Perry says, "Ok thats it,thanks" Trevor Rage says, "The extra skills may be more fun, and in some cases, even give you a small edge as you have such an arsenal available." Trevor Rage says, "Welcome." Dylan Perry nods. Dylan Perry sits down. Trevor Rage smiles. Having finished, Dylan Perry takes a seat nearby. Alouis DeLaGlynn now has the floor. Alouis DeLaGlynn asks, "I have a question about focus self. Will it be Occult Studies or ESP that subtracts from it? Or both? Or what? Or is that something we have to figure out?" Alouis DeLaGlynn grins. Trevor Rage says, "Both of those will carry penalties." Trevor Rage says, "And actually, having none of those two skills provides a bonus, even." Trevor Rage says, "Their affect on FOCUS SELF is very drastic and will remain that way. And of course you'll want good humanities skill to get the most out of focus self." Alouis DeLaGlynn nods. Trevor Rage says, "Thanks Alouis." Trevor Rage smiles. Having finished, Alouis DeLaGlynn takes a seat nearby. Verna Delancey now has the floor. Verna Delancey asks, "Will the armory and knife store be selling weapons tomorrow as well?" Verna Delancey grins. Verna Delancey asks, "and will damage to armor and weapons be live too?" Alexander Du'Callin raises his hand, noting he has a question. Trevor Rage says, "Armory yes. Knife store, not yet. I have some modifications to make. The armory will feature over 100 items on the menu. However, NOTE: I've removed all the high power items and replaced them with lower cost weapons and armor with no bonuses." Dylan Perry raises his hand, noting he has a question. Verna Delancey asks, "so when you appraise them it is 0/0?" Trevor Rage says, "And damage to weapons/armor will be live as will be repair services in the Armory." Verna Delancey nods. Trevor Rage says, "The stuff from the new armory? Yes." Verna Delancey says, "ok that's all" Verna Delancey says, "thanks" Trevor Rage says, "I'm considering putting higher priced weapons in the blade shop with bonuses." Trevor Rage says, "While I'm at it.. someone just reminded me of something I need to bring up." Trevor Rage says, "Temporarily, all the accusable violents will be shut off. They direly need a rewrite, which will make the whole accusable system easier to work with and add to. I don't have an estimate on their replacement yet." Verna Delancey says, "Ouch" Verna Delancey asks, "What will be the best armor in the armory?" Verna Delancey ducks her head. Trevor Rage says, "Rather than hold up the whole line for those perps, I'm shutting them off for now." Trevor Rage says, "There is no best. Some are light but less protective, some are heavy but protective, etc." Trevor Rage grins. Verna Delancey asks, "so they will still carry penalties?" Siri Macallan says, "That's violent accusables." Trevor Rage nods to Siri Macallan. Siri Macallan says, "Not non-violent accusables." Trevor Rage says, "Non-violents will be in normal operation." Trevor Rage says, "And armor still carries penalties to a degree appropriate for the type, yes." Verna Delancey says, "Ok" Verna Delancey says, "thanks" Trevor Rage says, "Thanks." Trevor Rage smiles. Having finished, Verna Delancey takes a seat nearby. Jewel Michaels now has the floor. Jewel Michaels asks, "my focus didn't work well at all tonight I read the new news regarding that but I don't understand why suddenly it doesn't work well I have 120 in the skill needed for it" Trevor Rage exclaims, "120 is pretty low on the 1-500 scale.. but you'll get better at it with use as of tomorrow, so practice up!" Trevor Rage smiles. Trevor Rage says, "You'd be amazed what a few more points could do, so practice." Trevor Rage smiles. Jewel Michaels says, "usualy It takes some but tonight its not takeing much at all" Jewel Michaels says, "ok thanks" Jewel Michaels sits down. Jonathan McDowell just arrived. Trevor Rage nods. Trevor Rage says, "There were some errors in the math before, I believe. There are also some hidden factors I won't go into, but practice will improve your chances." Jewel Michaels raises her hand, noting she has a question. Vincent Euiena raises his hand, noting he has a question. Having finished, Jewel Michaels takes a seat nearby. Thet Mes now has the floor. Thet Mes asks, "Tomorrow, after reallocation.. will I still "be" what I am right now? My profession won't change unless I actually TRY to change it, right..? Or will I have to choose tomorrow, after reallocating?" Ami Stuart raises her hand, noting she has a question. Trevor Rage says, "No, you will have no profession at all until you select one with the PROFESSION command." Thet Mes asks, "And upon typing the PROFESSION command, I'll be presented with a list of possible professions which meet my skill level, based on how I've allocated my points?" Alouis DeLaGlynn raises his hand, noting he has a question. Trevor Rage says, "The old profession system and the new are apples and oranges.. they don't mingle." Thet Mes nods. Trevor Rage nods to Thet Mes. Thet Mes says, "Okay." Thet Mes grins. Thet Mes sits down. Trevor Rage smiles. Sami Market raises her hand, noting she has a question. Having finished, Thet Mes takes a seat nearby. Matt Browne now has the floor. Matt Browne asks, "so your profession is skill based and your title is level based? or is there interaction?" Trevor Rage says, "Yes. Profession is skill based only. Title is level based, only." Matt Browne nods. Trevor Rage smiles. Matt Browne says, "simple 'nuff" Trevor Rage nods. Having finished, Matt Browne takes a seat nearby. Alexander Du'Callin now has the floor. Alexander Du'Callin asks, "will there be any type of guild halls for related professions? I mean in DR there are only 9 or 10 professions to choose from so they each have their own guild hall, but i was just wondering if you were planning on putting any in." Siri Macallan says, "Not currently." Alexander Du'Callin says, "ok, just wanted to know" Siri Macallan says, "The island has a history of not being terribly "club" intensive." Verna Delancey raises her hand, noting she has a question. Alexander Du'Callin says, "well i thought it might be interesting, so i had to ask" Alexander Du'Callin sits down. Trevor Rage smiles. Trevor Rage says, "Thanks." Having finished, Alexander Du'Callin takes a seat nearby. Dylan Perry now has the floor. Dylan Perry asks, "ok i RP as i totally disbelieve in the paranormal,Can you tell me if i'll ever have to work on those type of skills and please say no." Dylan Perry grins. Trevor Rage says, "You'll only need to work on those skills if (a) you want to use para powers or (b) you want to fight para perps and survive their para attacks better." Dylan Perry asks, "So like when i hit level 200 in the year 3000 i still will have no training correct?" Trevor Rage nods. Dylan Perry exclaims, "great!" Dylan Perry says, "Thanks again" Trevor Rage says, "If that's what you'd like." Trevor Rage smiles. Trevor Rage nods. Dylan Perry sits down. Having finished, Dylan Perry takes a seat nearby. Jewel Michaels now has the floor. Jewel Michaels asks, "what are some of the new titles will the list be released tomorrow? and will the combat system be released tomorrow?" Trevor Rage says, "Combat yes. The titles you'll have to wait and see. If Gina stops in, she can tell them all to you." Trevor Rage snickers. Trevor Rage says, "Otherwise, others will undoubtedly have the new titles on and such." Jewel Michaels asks, "or will the new titles be on your web site?" Siri Macallan says, "Nope, you'll have to figure them out on your own." Trevor Rage grins. Jewel Michaels says, "thank you" Jewel Michaels smiles, showing her dimple. Trevor Rage says, "Thanks." Trevor Rage smiles. Having finished, Jewel Michaels takes a seat nearby. Vincent Euiena now has the floor. Vincent Euiena asks, "If the training areas are being removed, what happens to Maude and the rest?" Siri Macallan says, "We're getting back to more than one question a turn. Let's all go back to one at a time." Siri Macallan chuckles. Matt Browne raises his hand, noting he has a question. Vincent Euiena says, "She's a buddy of mine." Vincent Euiena smiles. Siri Macallan says, "They'll go on vacation." Vincent Euiena says, "And so's Kirk." Siri Macallan says, "Maybe Maude can take Chavez' job." Vincent Euiena chuckles. Vincent Euiena says, "Nah, I like the Chief." Trevor Rage says, "They're there but they suddenly just won't let you in the training office." Trevor Rage chuckles. Trevor Rage says, "But you can go over and say "Hi."" Vincent Euiena says, "I was thinking maybe you'd keep that small area open, but remove the actual room you train in." Vincent Euiena asks, "Oh, so she'll still be there?" Trevor Rage says, "Yes. You just can't go into the one training room in each training area. The rest of the area and the people there are still there." Vincent Euiena says, "Great. Thanks." Vincent Euiena grins. Trevor Rage nods. Trevor Rage smiles. Vincent Euiena says, "Sorry for the pointless question." Vincent Euiena chuckles. Vincent Euiena says, "I'll behave now." Ami Stuart asks, "Will we be able to start raising our stat's tomorow? like strength and Agility" Trevor Rage says, "Yep." Ami Stuart asks, "Where? or just by doing them?" Alouis DeLaGlynn asks, "I'm sorry if this is a repeat for some, but I'd just like to clarify for myself... Occult Studies will be for focusing on weapons and defense vs. paranormal attacks while ESP will be for things like SENSE. Is that correct?" Trevor Rage says, "Yes, but ESP also counts in defending against para attacks." Nina Perrson raises her hand, noting she has a question. Trevor Rage says, "Thanks, Alouis." Trevor Rage smiles. Having finished, Alouis DeLaGlynn takes a seat nearby. Sami Market now has the floor. Sami Market asks, "Can the weapons and armour in the armory and knife shop be appraised before being bought?" Trevor Rage says, "Nope. Would be nice, but it was already a ton of work to make it as it was, with so many items. On the bright side, they aren't all that expensive." Sami Market snaps her fingers. Sami Market says, "Darn" Trevor Rage grins. Trevor Rage says, "Thanks, Sami." Trevor Rage smiles. Having finished, Sami Market takes a seat nearby. Verna Delancey now has the floor. Verna Delancey asks, "What will happen to the old training places, will they just dry up and disappear?" Sami Market raises her hand, noting she has a question. Trevor Rage says, "They will exist but you will not be able to go into the training office itself." Verna Delancey says, "I mean some of them are in the mail system" Siri Macallan says, "They'll be available." Verna Delancey says, "But quite a few are not." Siri Macallan smiles. Siri Macallan says, "All of them." Verna Delancey nods. Jewel Michaels raises her hand, noting she has a question. Siri Macallan says, "Or the person will be put elsewhere, even if the rooms are changed into something else." Verna Delancey says, "I understand, just thought we could utilize em for a mystery or something." Trevor Rage says, "The -only- thing we're taking out is your ability to go into the one room where you actually would raise skills." Verna Delancey nods. Verna Delancey says, "Ok" Verna Delancey says, "thanks" Trevor Rage nods to Siri Macallan. Trevor Rage says, "Thanks." Trevor Rage smiles. Having finished, Verna Delancey takes a seat nearby. Having finished, Matt Browne takes a seat nearby. Nina Perrson now has the floor. Nina Perrson asks, "i remember you guys saying that things that raise your stats and skills were not allowed in private homes, but i just heard a couple of days ago that someone recently got something in their home that does allow this. did you guys change your minds, or is that just incorrect?" Siri Macallan says, "As far as I know, no item in anyone's private houses raises stats." Siri Macallan says, "If it does, we'll have to fix that." Nina Perrson nods. Trevor Rage says, "It's not allowed. If we find an item attached to a home inadvertently allows gains to skills/stats it will be removed." Trevor Rage nods to Siri Macallan. Nina Perrson says, "all right" Nina Perrson exclaims, "thanks!" Siri Macallan says, "You bet." Trevor Rage says, "Er, let me clarify, the skill/stat gains will be removed, not the item." Trevor Rage winks. Having finished, Nina Perrson takes a seat nearby. Sami Market now has the floor. Sami Market asks, "Do the weapons have Mods?" Trevor Rage asks, "The weapons in the new armory?" Sami Market says, "And armor" Trevor Rage says, "None of the items sold in the new armory have mods." Sami Market asks, "And what good armor with no bonus is?" Sami Market ducks her head. Sami Market says, "No mods that is" Trevor Rage says, "Armor with no bonus will still reduce damage you take, it just will not make you harder to hit." Dylan Perry raises his hand, noting he has a question. Trevor Rage says, "When you DO get hit, it will reduce damage done to you tho" Sami Market nods to Trevor Rage. Trevor Rage asks, "Make sense?" Trevor Rage smiles. Sami Market says, "Sure does. Thanks" Trevor Rage nods. Trevor Rage says, "Thanks." Trevor Rage smiles. Having finished, Sami Market takes a seat nearby. Jewel Michaels says, "will our mods " Trevor Rage says, "That was just there in preparation for the switchover." Jewel Michaels says, "for like the old t-bars still be there" Trevor Rage says, "Your mods will be there, they just won't show the number under appraise." Jewel Michaels says, "so we will never again know what mods our weapons have" Trevor Rage says, "The actual weapon will still have it's mod, if it is not over +60" Jewel Michaels says, "ok thank you" Trevor Rage says, "There are ways to figure it out. Thanks jewel." Trevor Rage smiles. Jewel Michaels says, "but new t-bars will not have a mod at all" Trevor Rage nods to Jewel Michaels. Trevor Rage says, "New ones from the Armory" Having finished, Jewel Michaels takes a seat nearby. Ami Stuart now has the floor. Ami Stuart asks, "this might of been answered already, but will we get titles automatically every 10 levels? or do we still have to visit the Steward's Office?" Siri Macallan says, "Automatically right now." Trevor Rage says, "Automatically. We may fluff up and add stuff like the Steward later." Trevor Rage nods to Siri Macallan. Siri Macallan says, "We may add some RPing stuff later, but ..." Ami Stuart wrinkles her nose. Siri Macallan says, "What Trevor said." Ami Stuart says, "okies" Trevor Rage smiles. Having finished, Ami Stuart takes a seat nearby. Dylan Perry now has the floor. Dylan Perry asks, "Where exactly can we go to raise our attributes like strength and such,or is that for us to figure out?" Dylan Perry grins. Siri Macallan leans on Amanda Jackson. Trevor Rage says, "You can raise those with use.. example, combat raises all your stats. Picking a lock would raise dexterity, and so on." Dylan Perry says, "Ahh okies" Trevor Rage smiles. Dylan Perry says, "thanks yet again oh man of many answers" Dylan Perry bows. Trevor Rage chuckles. Trevor Rage nods. Having finished, Dylan Perry takes a seat nearby. Bryan Hit now has the floor. Bryan Hit asks, "will there be merchants available after reallocation who will be able to make and alter weapons and armor gear toward the new system?" Bryan Hit grins. Siri Macallan says, "Sure." Trevor Rage nods. Bryan Hit says, "cool" Bryan Hit grins. Siri Macallan says, "As always. Probably not until after the hols though." Bryan Hit says, "thanks" Bryan Hit chuckles. Bryan Hit says, "okay" Siri Macallan says, "Gift giving merchants first, bloodly weapon merchants later." Trevor Rage snickers. Bryan Hit asks, "ya mean they aren;t the same thing?" Jewel Michaels says, "oops thats a mistake" Having finished, Jewel Michaels takes a seat nearby. Amanda Jackson now has the floor. Amanda Jackson asks, "For paired weapons, will we be able to combine weapon types, like a t-bar and a gun?" Trevor Rage nods to Jewel Michaels. Trevor Rage grins. Amanda Jackson ducks her head. Trevor Rage says, "Yes, if both weapons are pairable. But you can't, say, shoot a gun and swing a t-bar at the same time." Trevor Rage says, "If you have a gun in one hand and t-bar in the other and type ATTACK THUG, you're gonna swing both at him." Amanda Jackson says, "oh, so if i had 2 blunts it would do something better" Amanda Jackson says, "or two guns, or two bladed weapons" Amanda Jackson giggles. Trevor Rage says, "You can shoot two guns at once, or swing two blunts at once, etc." Amanda Jackson says, "k" Trevor Rage nods. Trevor Rage says, "Or a knife and a blunt, or whatever." Amanda Jackson nods. Amanda Jackson says, "got it" Trevor Rage smiles. Amanda Jackson says, "thanks, sorry if that's been addressed" Trevor Rage says, "It wasn't.. thanks." Trevor Rage smiles. Having finished, Amanda Jackson takes a seat nearby. Jackson Laredo now has the floor. Jackson Laredo asks, "if you choose not to be a thief, but train pilfering, will you be better able to catch a thief trying to steal from you or other tourists?" Siri Macallan says, "As we won't have players thieving from other players, probably not." Jackson Laredo says, "sorry if that's been addressed, i got deported earlier and had a question in." Jackson Laredo smiles. Trevor Rage says, "An NPC thief? Maybe. Not sure yet. Players will not be able to steal from each other tho." Jackson Laredo nods to Trevor Rage. Jackson Laredo says, "thank you." Jackson Laredo sits down. Trevor Rage nods. Trevor Rage says, "My first guess is urban tracking will help more with that, but pilfering may be a secondary help." Jackson Laredo nods to Trevor Rage. Jewel Michaels raises her hand, noting she has a question. Trevor Rage says, "Thanks, Jackson." Trevor Rage smiles. Having finished, Jackson Laredo takes a seat nearby. John Edmiston now has the floor. John Edmiston asks, "Is there consideration for certain permanent items that will raise stats? Like I know there are certain things in DR which you can DISARM and PICK all day, but they never are untrapped and never unlocked" John Edmiston says, "stats and/or skills, at a decreased level of gain" Dylan Perry raises his hand, noting he has a question. Siri Macallan says, "Not currently." John Edmiston snaps his fingers. Siri Macallan says, "I don't favor such items either." Trevor Rage says, "Let me phrase it this way.." Trevor Rage says, "If we have, say a door you can pick over and over, it would be rare and would not teach well. But as Siri said, it's not really a favorable item." John Edmiston says, "Ok, thanks Rage and Siri" Trevor Rage says, "Last I checked in DR, those doors didn't teach so well either." Trevor Rage grins. John Edmiston gives a big thumbs up! Trevor Rage nods. John Edmiston says, "no, they don't" Trevor Rage chuckles. Trevor Rage says, "Thanks." Having finished, John Edmiston takes a seat nearby. Jewel Michaels now has the floor. Jewel Michaels says, "thats a relief that they can't steel from players" Jewel Michaels says, "is that perps too" Trevor Rage says, "I'm not adding theft from perps. That makes for a bad scene." Dylan Perry now has the floor. Dylan Perry asks, "Ok back to the brawling/martial arts skills, will there be a list somewhere of each move and what skill rank might be needed to perform without negatives?" Dylan Perry smiles. Siri Macallan chuckles. Siri Macallan says, "I'm inclined to say no, but that's Trevor's territory." Siri Macallan says, "Train in what you want to learn. Moves were listed at the last forum, though." Trevor Rage says, "There is a list in the combat log. But, as far as negatives, moves with a negative skill mod will ALWAYS have that mod. You can't train it off." Dylan Perry says, "Sorry, guess you did that at the last forum" Dylan Perry blushes a nice shade of off-pink. Trevor Rage grins. Dylan Perry cowers in fear. Trevor Rage says, "Thanks Dylan." Trevor Rage chuckles. Dylan Perry sits down. Trevor Rage says, "No prob." Having finished, Dylan Perry takes a seat nearby. Kassidy Kalhoun raises her hand, noting she has a question. Siri Macallan says, "I really want to just say, everyone breathe." Siri Macallan grins. Siri Macallan says, "It will be alright." Bryan Hit chuckles. Trevor Rage says, "Charge for classes, lockpicking or repair services if you want. More stuff will be coming too, of course." Jon Garfield raises his hand, noting he has a question. Trevor Rage says, "There are lots of options." Bryan Hit says, "ah okay" Trevor Rage smiles. Bryan Hit grins. Jewel Michaels raises her hand, noting she has a question. Having finished, Bryan Hit takes a seat nearby. Vincent Euiena now has the floor. Vincent Euiena asks, "Since we have to raise or attributes, didn't you once say there were places we could improve them? Like the gym at the mall works on strength of some reading at the library works on intellegence and so on?" Vincent Euiena says, "That was something I think I vaguely remember hearing." Vincent Euiena says, "For the less violent of the tourist." Siri Macallan says, "There will be places, yes." John Edmiston raises his hand, noting he has a question. Trevor Rage says, "Intelligence isn't a stat.. but as for strength and the gym and stuff. Will it be available tomorrow? No. But eventually. Tomorrow you will have plenty of ways to raise all the stats tho." Vincent Euiena asks, "Any idea when?" Vincent Euiena says, "Sorry, I ment mentality.," Trevor Rage says, "Nope. Work in progress." Jackson Laredo raises his hand, noting he has a question. Vincent Euiena says, "Ok, thanks." Vincent Euiena says, "See, good question this time." Alexander Du'Callin says, "er...including" Trevor Rage says, "Some of them are offline." Amanda Jackson raises her hand, noting she has a question. Alexander Du'Callin says, "ah, that would be why" Trevor Rage says, "The offline ones count in that number." Trevor Rage grins. Alexander Du'Callin says, "also, one more thing" Trevor Rage says, "Since the first was about the forum list I'll let you slide." Trevor Rage winks. Trevor Rage nods. Alexander Du'Callin says, "um, if anyone feels like getting an edited copy of this forum, Email me at Drekfire@hotmail.com for one on like saturday" Trevor Rage chuckles. Alexander Du'Callin says, "just thought i would let people know" Trevor Rage says, "Thanks, that's great." Trevor Rage smiles. Jon Garfield asks, "Is there a way other than going afk to prevent yourself from learning a skill you don't want to learn? For example, if you are die-hard against learning para skills so you can use focus self with a bonus, and you're sitting at the pub, and an invasion of para perps starts there, won't that make you learn from being attacked and attempting to defend?" Trevor Rage says, "Yes, and actually, I thought about that only a moment ago. I'm going to look into that before tomorrow's release." Jon Garfield nods. Trevor Rage says, "Perhaps a way to 'lock' a skill so that it does not rise." Trevor Rage says, "Thanks Jon." Trevor Rage smiles. Having finished, Jon Garfield takes a seat nearby. Jewel Michaels now has the floor. Jewel Michaels asks, "I notice we find some strange things in the boxes like trowls and tinderboxes I wonderd if the trowels are for the dig etc are all of the things we find there for a reason?" Jonathan McDowell raises his hand, noting he has a question. Siri Macallan says, "A lot of things are just for fun." Jewel Michaels says, "so some are for fun and some are for a use" Siri Macallan says, "RP tools." Siri Macallan says, "I'm crossing my fingers that all goes well." Trevor Rage chuckles. Siri Macallan finds some wood to knock for extra luck. Siri Macallan says, "Thanks, John." Siri Macallan says, "Nope that's the cap." Siri Macallan says, "They can still hunt but not gain any more skill." Trevor Rage says, "We won't be raising the level, per-skill or per-lifetime caps." Jackson Laredo says, "also a comment. we spoke before one-on-one about if this was going to be like DR's system, and you said similar, except there won't be pools for each skill. the reason for the pools is so that someone can't just sit in a room getting swung at and every hit missing them... they could be level 1 with 500 evasion or something." Jackson Laredo smiles at Trevor Rage. Siri Macallan says, "That's why it's tied into the notoriety." Jackson Laredo asks, "or is there a certain amount you can learn with each level?" Siri Macallan says, "And so once you hit level, you're done learning any skill at that previous level." Trevor Rage says, "The pools are actually just a device to control how quickly you gain skill. We have devices also, they just don't utilize a skill pool." Jackson Laredo nods to Trevor Rage. Jackson Laredo says, "i see" Jackson Laredo smiles. Jackson Laredo says, "thank you." Trevor Rage nods. Having finished, Jackson Laredo takes a seat nearby. Amanda Jackson now has the floor. Jonathan McDowell says, "ok" Trevor Rage smiles. Having finished, Jonathan McDowell takes a seat nearby. Alexander Du'Callin now has the floor. Alexander Du'Callin asks, "i got a kind of good question, since we will be able to steal from nvnpc's, if we are caught will be be warrented or sent to jail? or some other eaqully cruel fate?" Alexander Du'Callin says, "er...equally" Trevor Rage says, "As that system isn't built yet, it's hard to say. However, getting caught will not come without a cost." Alexander Du'Callin asks, "and dont you people ever sleep?" Alexander peers quizzically at Trevor. Alexander peers quizzically at Siri. Eve Roquelaure laughs! Trevor Rage says, "3.25 minutes per day, yes." Siri Macallan says, "Basically, if you want to play a thief in a semi-civilized society, you should get really good or prepare to get busted." Trevor Rage smirks. Alexander Du'Callin says, "would rather be stuck in english than have your jobs" Amanda Jackson raises her hand, noting she has a question. Alexander Du'Callin says, "ok, thanks" Alexander Du'Callin sits down. Siri Macallan says, "I liked English." Siri Macallan sniffles. Verna Delancey says, "Because I made a suggestion about it" Verna Delancey says, "but I guess it was not good enough to be considered." Verna Delancey says, "Ok, thanks." Trevor Rage says, "I saw it. I wouldn't say it was not good enough. But it didn't fit the plan, sorry." Verna Delancey nods. Trevor Rage says, "Thanks." John Edmiston raises his hand, noting he has a question. Trevor Rage smiles. Having finished, Verna Delancey takes a seat nearby. Jackson Laredo now has the floor. Siri Macallan gets a distant look on her face as she ponders. Siri Macallan says, "Clothes dying." Jackson Laredo says, "i'm good with my hands... I wanna be able to make things that'll turn a profit and help other players." Jackson Laredo smiles at Siri Macallan. Siri Macallan says, "Lots of stuff." Verna Delancey raises her hand, noting she has a question. Jackson Laredo nods to Siri Macallan. Jackson Laredo says, "specifically..." Siri Macallan says, "I don't know why you couldn't set yourself up as a merchant at some point as long as you can get all your supplies." Trevor Rage says, "For the most part, engineering of devices in general would fit in there, tho other skills like research etc may factor too." Jackson Laredo asks, "basic weapons and armor?" Jackson Laredo smiles. Siri Macallan says, "That's more than just "craft" I think." Jackson Laredo nods to Siri Macallan. Jackson Laredo says, "ok, thank you." Siri Macallan says, "Welcome." Jackson Laredo smiles at Siri Macallan. Jackson Laredo smiles at Trevor Rage. Trevor Rage says, "If weaponcraft or armorcraft are added, expect it to cross paths with the weapon skill etc used." Trevor Rage says, "Thanks." Trevor Rage smiles. Having finished, Jackson Laredo takes a seat nearby. Thet Mes now has the floor. Thet Mes asks, "Do you have plans anytime in the future to "make" people have to eat, in order to make this more realistic? I know there are some games where, if you don't eat, stamina decreases.. if it decreases too much, death occurs. Are there any plans to put such a system into place here?" Siri Macallan says, "Noooooo." Thet Mes grins. Siri Macallan says, "I can only handle so much mundane reality." Trevor Rage says, "I'd like to see benefits to eating, but having to eat sucks. Simply put." Thet Mes begins chuckling at Siri Macallan. Siri Macallan says, "As a quick aside ..." Siri Macallan says, "When you're done with your numbers in reallocation, before you STOP, double check all your numbers to see that you've really got what you want where you want it." Thet Mes says, "Oh, yeah.. Ryan.." Thet Mes glances at Ryan Montoya. Thet Mes says, "Thanks SO much for that calculator.. that was a Godsend." Thet Mes grins. Ryan Montoya grins. Ryan Montoya says, "I'm glad you like it." Vincent Euiena raises his hand, noting he has a question. Thet Mes bows. Siri Macallan says, "You can change things around while you're in there but once you're out, you're done. So double check yourself for typos and what not." Thet Mes says, "Thanks to all of you." Thet Mes sits down. Trevor Rage says, "Yep, you have all the time in the world until you type STOP. Take all the time you need." Trevor Rage says, "Thanks." Trevor Rage smiles. Having finished, Thet Mes takes a seat nearby. Amanda Jackson now has the floor. Amanda Jackson asks, "Will our old rap sheet of arrests be cleared? Starting anew seems to be the theme after all.. " Trevor Rage chuckles. Amanda Jackson hums a tune softly to herself. Siri Macallan chuckles. Trevor Rage says, "Nope, they're not being wiped, sorry." Siri Macallan says, "Nope." John Edmiston now has the floor. John Edmiston asks, "I'm kinda confused about the skill growth limits... To clarify, me at level 30, I would gain hardly any if any noto and skill from sitting in West End with a bunch of brawlers missing me? And off-topic comment, I like English... And I'd give anything to see the millions of lines of code in this little world." John Edmiston exclaims, "Oh and another quick note... If we are forced to eat... we would be forced to go to the bathroom!" John Edmiston shudders. Jackson Laredo raises his hand, noting he has a question. Siri Macallan exclaims, "Nooooooooooo!" Siri Macallan shudders. John Edmiston comforts Siri Macallan. Siri Macallan says, "Okay, I'm better now." John Edmiston snickers. Eve Roquelaure says, "The Balmour bathrooms were supposed to put that to rest." Trevor Rage says, "Actually, you will learn fairly well from brawlers at any level. But if you wanna make $100 a pop instead of many hundreds or thousands a pop, be my guest.. please." Trevor Rage smiles. Thet Mes raises his hand, noting he has a question. John Edmiston asks, "Ok, but then what takes the place of skill pools?" John Edmiston scratches his head, looking a bit confused. Trevor Rage says, "There are some mechanics built in, which I really won't discuss too much.. but suffice to say, if I see an abuse/hack/imbalance I will adjust. I'm giving some extra room to breathe for now." John Edmiston exclaims, "Sounds good, no Fluid brains here!" Trevor Rage says, "Frankly, it's silly to sit in brawlers for evasion when you could hunt bandits for both weapons and evasion plus high cash." John Edmiston nods to Trevor Rage. John Edmiston says, "agreed" John Edmiston exclaims, "Thanks!" Trevor Rage says, "Sure." Trevor Rage smiles. Trevor Rage grins at Jess Whiterose. Siri Macallan nods. Verna Delancey says, "thanks" Verna Delancey says, "that's it" Trevor Rage says, "Yes. The armory does 100% repair." Having finished, Verna Delancey takes a seat nearby. Alexander Du'Callin now has the floor. Alexander Du'Callin asks, "How screwed up are you? grated this is somewhat retorical, but how can you stand her for 4 HOURS! answering questions....i would kill myself probably" Alexander Du'Callin says, "also, i've been wanting to do this in respond to some of the questions, but i wasnt allowed" Alexander Du'Callin falls over. Siri Macallan says, "I'd really like to, right about now." Siri Macallan chuckles. Ryan Montoya comforts Siri Macallan. Siri Macallan says, "They're for discovering as you go." Jackson Laredo asks, "oh... nothing at all?" Trevor Rage says, "Um. Well all the old ones are in there. That's all I'm saying." Siri Macallan says, "Nary a hint." Jackson Laredo asks, "there won't be a list to choose from?" Jackson Laredo asks, "or will we have to RP our way into a position?" Jackson Laredo smiles at Siri Macallan. Trevor Rage says, "PROFESSION LIST shows you all you qualify for under that skill." Jackson Laredo says, "ahhhhh, i see." Jackson Laredo says, "thank you." Jackson Laredo smiles. Trevor Rage says, "Type PROFESSION and check it out." Trevor Rage says, "Thanks Jackson." Trevor Rage smiles. Having finished, Jackson Laredo takes a seat nearby. Having finished, Jonathan McDowell takes a seat nearby. Sarah Ninesling now has the floor. Sarah Ninesling asks, "should we stop thinking in terms of "Professions" affecting our skills, Its the other way around now so should we think of professions in terms solely for roleplay" Siri Macallan says, "Yes. Having finished, Sarah Ninesling takes a seat nearby. Trevor Rage says, "Ok.." Trevor Rage is no longer taking new questions. If you already have a question, it is still in queue and you may still change your question at any time. If you LEAVE the list, you will not be able to ask a new question. Trevor Rage says, "List is empty, so we'll begin wrapping up." Trevor Rage says, "If anyone thinks of something you need help on, email me, I'll attempt to field your question as best as I can." Trevor Rage says, "Also, in the process of this forum, we've amazingly managed to put together a basic skill conversion list, as Vincent had suggested, which will be on my site very soon tonight. However.." Trevor Rage says, "I want to state.. this is not an exact conversion. If it says mechanical engineering = crafts, this does NOT mean it will always use crafts or that crafts will be the only skill in use there. This is mean as a loose, general guide only." Trevor Rage says, "So keep that in mind as you look it over. Check the site (www.role-players.com) in the next little while for it." Trevor Rage says, "And finally, if you need logs or a friend does, feel free to contact Alexander or Sarah for a copy. I'll have one soon on the site also." Trevor Rage says, "Hmm.. before we close up.." Trevor Rage says, "There are some questions that did not get answered.. I'm gonna answer these because I think they might be useful." Trevor Rage says, "Boo Cassady (Offline) [Will there be any changes to round time? Like, will we be able to look or emote while having RT?]" Trevor Rage asks, "I don't know. Maybe?" Trevor Rage grins. Trevor Rage says, "Taylor Rinna (Offline) [Currently, other pieces of clothing help protect you as well. Will this continue after reallocation?]" Trevor Rage says, "Clothing will not be designed as armor in the future. If it's armor, it will protect." Trevor Rage says, "Jacob Kloe (Offline) [Will there be traps on boxes from now on?]" Trevor Rage says, "Tomorrow? No. Later, maybe." Trevor Rage says, "Jennifer Lilley (Offline) [Is there a way you can send me a list of all the new skills with the uses?]" Trevor Rage says, "No, sorry." Trevor Rage grins. Trevor Rage says, "and finally.." Trevor Rage says, "Joy Nalewi (Offline) [Is it ten logons per account or per character before you are forced to reallocate?]" Trevor Rage says, "That is per character, not per account." Trevor Rage says, "Alright.. I think and hope we covered everything. Again, if you come up with questions, feel free to email me. MO-TREVOR@PLAY.NET" Trevor Rage says, "And with that, I'm going to drop the cone and official call this forum "over"." Trevor Rage grins.
