To read the most recent 912 enthusiasts' comments, go to the InterActive! page. From: Michael Schnittker; Sat, 27 Dec 1997; mschnit@ibm.net; 1969 coupe; Athens, Greece; pretty good
shape, new Ruby red paint, had been dark blue at one time, Ivory still around in places.
Had been sandblasted, still find small puddles of sand here and there. Has Fuch alloys
which I guess are original. Motor is original except for Ansa exhaust, still has Solexes
with big long snout paper filter intakes and anti-smog, strong, has had a top end rebuild
but never split as far as I know. Floor has a few holes from inside rust (the black
fiberous sound deadening stuff appears to have absorbed water and just sat there) but From: Don Verrico ; Mon, 22 Dec 1997; e-mail Donverrico@aol.com; Hi -- I'm a 912 owner 1967 California Car. I worked on it for 5 years and traded it for an MGB -- That guy sold it 2 years ago and I am now buying it back -- for twice as much as I paid for it! Oh well -- it sure is nice. Still needs restoration. Do you know any decent place around the Delaware area. From: Max Levell; Fri, 19 Dec 1997; e-mail: airpets@compuserve.com; I just checked out your web site...It's great - Finally a decent tribute to the unsung Porsche 912. I found the site both informative and interesting.....Great pictures of the racing 912's in California ! I myself own a '66 912, it is currently under going a total restoration including bodywork and mechanics...It should be near Concours condition by Summer. Are spares more affordable in the States?, I know the cars are ! Parts for Porsches in the UK are very expensive ! I guess its all part of the fun ! Many thanks for producing a great page, Max Levell - London/England. From: Andrew Holmes; Tue, 16 Dec 1997; e-mail: VECTORART@aol.com; I live in Carmel CA about five
minutes from Laguna Seca racetrack. The historic races are a special treat for me because
I grew up in Watkins Glen NY in the 50,s and 60's, and was delighted to see some of the
cars (and some drivers) that I knew as a child, racing again 35+ years later here in CA. From: Alexander von Wachter; Fri, 12 Dec 1997; Avwachter@aol.com; Munich, Germany; 1968 Coupe; Good condition, Weber Carbs., self restored, re-imported from Florida, Sarasota 1997, thinking about historic racing. Pictures via .jpeg avail. Send me e-mail! From: Edward Kunath; Tue, 9 Dec 1997; e-mail: Ekuna@aol.com; 1969 soft-window Targa; A web-site for 912's is long overdue. Thanks for creating it. Mine is supposedly one of the last 25 912 Targas built. I would like to know if any soft-window Targas were built after mine. Webmaster: How about it, '69 912 Targa owners? Are the last three digits of your VIN number between 780 and 801, and do you have a soft-window? (Edward is #779) From: Dave Baltzell; Thu, 04 Dec 1997; e-mail: seeker@proaxis.com; 1967 Coupe; It's my first Porsche, it needs work but I love it. I hope to restore it eventually once I get a job. Currently it's an everyday driver (110 mile round trip with interstate and country roads on my route) to the business where I am intern and driving for an hour before and hour after work makes work worth the trip. From: Revis Rose, PO; Tue, 2 Dec 1997; e-mail : rrose@d11.uscg.mil; 1966 Coupe, CA, USA; Thanks for starting this Registry, God knows it's needed. Not running, in process of restoration. Rust in the usual places (i.e. front susp. pan) , that must be taken care of before anything else should be done. I'm doing my own work, so I know it's done right. I'll know more about this car than most people out know about theirs. I will autocross it this year as soon as I get it on the road. From: JFernan; Mon, 1 Dec 1997; 435@aol.com ;1967 hard window Targa; Car is in Utah. Please add to the registry and thank you for performing this service. From: Jim Boucher; Sun, 30 Nov 1997; boogieman@kconline.com; 1968Targa; I think this page is GREAT! Finally a page for the last of the true Porsches (Not the red headed step child). Are there plans to have a 912 chat room? Webmaster: The chat room is here (2/23/98), check the Home page for more info! From: J & R McConnell; Tue, 25 Nov 1997 ; yeaboy@earthlink.net; I have a 76 912E ....It is the 90th 912E built, and has a total of 43,000 miles (I bought it with 15,000 miles). This beauty doesn't know rain, snow, or winter-even though it is in California. It is black with TWENTY YEAR OLD PIRELLIS on the rear! I have had the pleasure of owning this car for appx. 8 years, drove it to school on summers, and now I drive it about once every two months! From: DAVID LOVATO; Tue, 25 Nov 1997; dljilovato@hotmail.com; September 1995 ('76 Model year) 912E, Sunroof Coupe, Chocolate Brown Hi, here's my info to add to your register (which I am keen to support). Now in Gaeta, Italy registered as Allied Forces Italy (AFI). Don't know of any other 912E's in Italy. Factory says 'extremely rare in Europe'. Cherished car- now running free in Europe!! E-mails on 912's, spares, tech issues, etc. always welcome here!! From: Marshall L. McIntyre; Sat, 22 Nov 1997; marshall@koan.com; 1976 912E; It has been sitting idyle since 1985... I started to restore it but got bogged down.. Anyone need a project?
