Jeffrey McConnell (714) 898-4028; yeaboy@earthlink.net From: Mike Kieley; Fri, 1 May 1998; mkieley@hmr.ca; if anyone is interested, I have tripped over a cheap '67 coupe here in Toronto. It's had it's body redone - all new fenders, front and back, but needs some minor refinement. The engine is a rebored '66 with Weber 45's (brand new). Engine currently not running (possibly a bearing). Interior is very good, with new headliner. It also has a new performance exhaust. It's only $3500. Canadian, almost free in US dollars! From: Paul, Authorized User; Wed, 29 Apr 1998; gears@gte.net; Totally reconditioned dual-plug 912 heads complete with dual-plug distributor $575. Contact Paul at gears@gte.net. Fri, 1 May 1998 followup: The dual-plug conversion for the 912 is merely the application of one of the 356 Carrera's advanced features to the standard 912 engine. A number of versions of dual-plug installations have been performed on various types of 4-cylinder air-cooled heads over the past eight years, and in each case, there has been a noticeable difference in power output from the second bank of plugs. To keep things simple, rather than produce a modified engine case cover for a second distributor, a special distributor was made up to fire both plugs either simultaneously or fire them with a slight spread in timing. To keep things even less expensive, an adapter kit was made up to convert the stock distributor to dual-plug application. This sort of modification is best suited to the Porsche owner who is making other modifications in an attempt to extract maximum power or maximum efficiency from their 912 engine. It is obviously not for the individual who wishes their car to remain bone-stock in appearance.
