From: Josh Monesson; Mon, 3 Aug 1998; Bh4nohair@aol.com; Hi- Last night I was driving my '69 912 back from San Fransisco to Los Angeles. While in in Ventuta County, an engine fire strated and ended up burning my car to a crisp. I always carry a fire extinguisher, but it was not strong enough. I need to get rid of the car and would like to pass it on to someone who needs the donor car to help with their restoration, or needs a parts car for whatever reason. It does have a great 5-speed trans and '69 Alloys from a 911S. Any help would be appreciated. It can only sit for about 24 hours before being towed away to never never land. From: Jim Mickowski; Fri, 3 Jul 1998; epsltd@execpc.com; I just parted out my faithful 1967 Porsche 912. Unfortunately the old girl died from a terminal case of underbody cancer. The good news is that many of her parts are looking for transplants. Its engine lives in my 1969 Targa but the 1969 Targa's engine needs a rebuild and is priced accordingly. If you need something anything, large or small, contact me. She may have died so that your 912 can keep breathing. Keep the faith and long live the 912. Jim Mukwonago, Wisconsin

California car brought to Maui one year ago. Sunroof, 30K on rbld, xlnt compression. A/C, excellent body & interior, no rust, great daily driver. Butterscotch yellow/tan interior. Second owner, always well maintained. Email dcohen@maui.net Thanks! From: Rodney A. Harrison; Fri, 12 Jun 1998; rharison@lightspeed.net; 68 912 $3000. Car is an
older restoration (1986) red with black interior, EMPI "R" style wheels, 5
speed, original motor, needs freshening, runs. Could drive home, but unlike another
seller, I will not promise a rebuild if I am wrong. Not an oil burner. Daily driver for
past 4 years, with time off for good behavior. Many newer parts, including recent
re-ringing, wheel bearings. Body: Car has one golf-ball ding on front fender, several
scratches, looks good from 15', dash good, seats fair, original carpet getting thin, patch
work on pan, always a California car, clutch and transmission are OK. Generator is not
working, has new voltage regulator. The books says I have a "low level ground."
I do not feel like working any more on this car, as a nice 356 now has it's parking place.
The car is being sold for the following reason: Three strikes, you're out. Dead battery
day one. (New battery did not cure. Voltage regulator replaced... no help. Now the idiot
light burns all the time). Day two. Wheel bearing failure. El Nino? Stayed up until late
Saturday night to fix. Day three, backfiring on way home from Fresno. Valve adjustment
shows signs of worn valve guide. Greg Fullmer confirms. Day four: I go out and buy a new
Chevrolet Metro with A/C! Hey, this is California despite what the thermometer says! PS,
the car has webers, NPR's and Bursch exhaust. Rodney Harrison From: Casey Welsh; Wed, 10 Jun 1998; porscheboy@webtv.net; 1976 912E #0185, Excellent
