Chapter six

I was standing in my favorite bookstore staring at a book by the author Jim Marrs, who was one of the "buffs" who had led me through the labyrinths of the JFK assassination. He had written a book called "Crossfire", that was encyclopedic in its knowledge about the subject. Now he had obviously written a new book. Ordinarily I would rejoice at a new book by Marrs, but this time I was somewhat confused. The title was "Alien Agenda." Why on Earth would Marrs write a book about aliens. I had explored the subject a bit and come away non plussed, were these people imagining all these encounters and sightings or was there some truth behind the "smoke". I hesitated for a while and then bought the book. It would turn out to be a fateful decision, which would lead me on an exploration of human history and the meta-physical world that would make my head spin and change my life for ever.

Marrs took stories of aliens seriously. He again had written a book encyclopedic in its treatment of the subject. I came away from it convinced that he was right. Aliens did exist, the government has known about it for a long time, even made secret deals with some of them, then continuously explained away all evidence of their presence. It wasn't hard to believe, I already knew about the incredible levels of deception the public daily experienced. But what on Earth was going on here, what did it all mean?

I was intrigued by Marrs introduction of an American-Israeli author by the name of Zecharia Sitchin, who had written a series of books, collectively called "The Earth Chronicles". Supposedly Sitchin had made an extensive study of ancient Sumerian documents in their original language over a span of more than 30 years. He had stated: " Archeological finds and the deciphering of Sumerian, Babylonian, Assyrian, Hittite, Canaanite and other ancient texts and epic tales increasingly confirm the accuracy of the biblical references to the kingdoms, cities, rulers, places, temples, trade routes, artifacts, tools and customs of antiquity."

Sitchin recounted how man's early history had been shaped by visitors from a 12th planet in our solar system, called Nibiru. This planet had a elliptical orbit similar to the orbits of comets, bringing it far out into space, thus prohibiting scientists from discovering it. It supposedly would come close to the earth every 3,600 years. This planet was said to have entered our solar system billions of years ago on a course that brought it into collision with another planet, called Tiamat. The destruction of Tiamat created the asteroid belt and our earth, which was thrown into a new orbit closer to the sun. His knowledge of the Sumerian and similar languages brought him to the conclusion, that what the ancient epic tales were describing were an older and more accurate version of the biblical story. The clay tablets wove a story of alien civil war, rivalry between alien siblings and colonization efforts on Earth that ultimately included the creation of Adam and Eve and thus mankind. I was hooked.

Over a period of several months I excitedly devoured all of Sitchin's books: "The 12th Planet, The Stairway to Heaven, The Wars of Gods and Men, The Lost Realms, Genesis Revisited and The Cosmic Code." What a tale I found: The inhabitants of Nibiru had realized four hundred fifty thousand years ago that their atmosphere was gradually dying. They came to the conclusion that gold particles suspended high up in their atmosphere would save the situation. Rapidly running out of their own resources, it was decided to colonize and mine the third planet from the sun, our Earth. In the process of mining gold, new labor was continuously needed. Modern man was created to help offset the labor shortage by genetic manipulation, mixing alien genes with the genes of existing primates. A group of humans were brought to the main compound in Mesopotamia, the E. Din, or as known to us, Eden. There they served as unskilled help, until a personality conflict between two brothers, the main leaders, caused most of them to be expelled from their "paradise."

About 13,000 years ago, the colonists knew that the return of the 12th planet would cause extensive flooding around our earth. The main leader, Enki, wanted the flooding to finish off the pesky humans, while his brother Ea, whose symbol was a serpent, wanted to save mankind.. Ea warned a few humans, among them the man who has become known as Noah, and mankind was saved from total and final extinction.

I was in a state of euphoria. I had always been repelled by the stories of the vengeful God of the Old Testament and had long dismissed the Bible as a bunch of old legends of no importance to me. I often had marveled at the gullibility of religious people. Now I had been proven correct. God didn't exist. The Bible had become understandable. The ancient peoples had interacted with visitors from another planet. The garden of Eden was explained. The devil, who had tempted Eve, was explained. He was the alien leader, whose symbol was a serpent. Various lines from the Bible became clear: "The Gods saw that the females of mankind were compatible, and they laid down with them and had children by them." The aliens were able to have intercourse with female humans and produce offspring! The Nibiruan genes gave these hybrid children a longevity that dwarfs those of regular modern humans, some biblical passages mention life-spans reaching almost 1,000 years. The aliens were taller and stronger than the human beings. Some of the hybrid offspring also were stronger than usual. David, the hero from the "David and Goliath" story was such a hybrid. He managed to defeat the Nibiruan Goliath in battle!

Her is the best interview with Zecharia Sitchin that I have found so far: (from Connecting Link's magazine)

Zecharia Sitchin was born in Russia and raised in Palestine, where he acquired a profound knowledge of modern and ancient Hebrew, other Semitic and European languages, the Old Testament, and the history and archeology of the Near East. He is one of the few scholars who is able to read and understand Sumerian. Sitchin attended and graduated from the University of London, majoring in economic history. A leading journalist and editor in Israel for many years, he now lives and writes in New York. His books have been widely translated, converted to Braille for the blind, and featured on radio and television.

The Earth Chronicles series is based on the premise that mythology is not fanciful but the repository of ancient memories; that the Bible ought to be read literally as a historic/scientific document; and that ancient civilizations--older and greater than assumed--were the product of knowledge brought to Earth by the Anunnaki, "Those Who from Heaven to Earth Came." ...I trust that modern science will continue to confirm ancient knowledge.

Zecharia Sitchin Connecting Link: What are the Earth Chronicles about? Zecharia Sitchin: The first book, The Twelfth Planet, refers to the probability that there is one more planet in our solar system. That there are twelve members, counting sun, moon and ten planets, not the nine we know of. That people from that planet came to earth almost half a million years ago and did many of the things about which we read in the Bible, in the book of Genesis. But that was not my starting point at all. My starting point was, going back to my childhood and schooldays, the puzzle of who were the Nefilim, that are mentioned in Genesis, Chapter six, as the sons of the gods who married the daughters of Man in the days before the great flood, the Deluge. The word Nefilim is commonly, or used to be, translated "giants." And I am sure that you and your readers are familiar with quotes and Sunday preachings, etc., that those were the days when there were giants upon the earth. I questioned this interpretation as a child at school, and I was reprimanded for it because the teacher said "you don't question the Bible." But I did not question the Bible, I questioned an interpretation that seemed inaccurate, because the word, Nefilim, the name by which those extraordinary beings, "the sons of the gods" were known, means literally, "Those who have come down to earth from the heavens."

CL: From the Hebrew word Nafal, which means "fall"? ZS: Right. Fall, come down, descend. So, what did it mean? This led me to biblical studies and then to mythology and archeology and all the other subjects, including the study of ancient languages, which became my education and avocation. So, my research and my decision to write about it started with a question, Who were the Nefilim? All the ancient scriptures, the Bible, the Greek myths, the Egyptian myth and texts, the pyramid texts, everything, led to the Sumerians, whose civilization was the first known one six thousand years ago. I focused on Sumer, the source of these legends and myths and texts and information. I learned to read the cuneiform Sumerian texts and came upon their persistent and repeated statements that those beings, whom the Sumerians called Anunnaki, came to earth from a planet called Nibiru.

The planet was designated by the sign of the cross and Nibiru meant, "planet of crossing." The question thus shifted in my research from who were the Nefilim and the Anunnaki, to, what planet is Nibiru? Forced to become proficient in astronomy, I had to learn enough about it to deal with the subject. I found out that the scholars were divided. Some said it (Nibiru) was Mars, which of course was described and known to the ancient people, and others said, no, it was Jupiter. Those who said it was Jupiter and not Mars, had very convincing arguments why it could not be Mars. And those who said it was Mars and not Jupiter had very convincing arguments also. Being able to go directly to those ancient sources, clay tablets and cuneiforn scripts, it seemed to me that neither was right, because the description of Nibiru and its position when it nears the Sun indicated that it could not be Mars, and it could not be Jupiter.

And then one night I woke up with the answer: Of course, it is one more planet that comes periodically between Mars and Jupiter; it is sometimes nearer to Mars and sometimes nearer to Jupiter, but it isn't Mars or Jupiter. Once I realized that this was the answer, that there is one more planet, everything else fell into place. The meaning of the Mesopotamian Epic of Creation on which the first chapters of Genesis are based and all details about the Anunnaki, who they were and who their leaders were and how they traveled from their planet to Earth and how they splashed down in the Persian Gulf and about their first settlement, their leaders and so on and so on, everything became clear! The Sumerians had immense knowledge. They knew about Uranus and Neptune and described them and they knew about Pluto. They were proficient in mathematics and, in many respects, their knowledge surpassed modem times. They said, "All that we know was told to us by the Anunnaki." The first book's innovation, its impact, was the realization that the ancient peoples, beginning with the Sumerians, knew of and described and spoke of one more planet in our solar system. It was not a discovery like that of Pluto in 1930 (of which the Sumerians knew six thousand years ago). Pluto was a very interesting astronomical discovery; textbooks had to be revised. But to the average person, the man on the street, it really made no difference. Nibiru, on the other hand was a different story.

If Nibiru exists, (and this is the planet that astronomers nowadays call planet X) then the Anunnaki exist. So the existence of Nibiru is not a matter of just one more globe in our solar system. This is different, because if Nibiru exists, and the Anunnaki exist, then the Sumerian claim that they come back to our vicinity every 3,600 years, at which times in the past they gave us civilization, then we are not alone and there are more advanced people than us in our solar system. CL: What will happen next time around?

ZS: Who knows how they will feel about us when they come back. Will they decide to give us more knowledge again, and more technical advancement and more civilization, or will they decide that we are no good, as happened at the time of the Deluge, and try to get rid of us? So, the first book, laying the foundation and describing Sumerian knowledge and concluding with the existence of one more planet is really the key to understanding what it is all about. What the tales of Genesis are, what the tales of creation are, what our past was, and in a way what our future will be.

CL: And the second book in the series? ZS: The Stairway to Heaven, looks at the tales of ancient times, primarily from two new aspects. One was to bring the Egyptian texts and mythologies into the picture and show how they fit with the Sumerian [texts] and what they really meant. The second was to look at the issue of man's search for immortality. And this ties in with the Sinai, it ties in with the landing place, with the spaceports in the Sinai Peninsula, the role of Jerusalem and all that.

The third book, The Wars of Gods and Men, continues the story and shows what happened after Kingship, a new phase of civilization, was given to mankind. Dealing with the conflict that began with the rivalry between two half brothers, Enlil and Enki. It relates how this conflict continued among their sons and their grandchildren, leading to actual warfare which I call the Pyramid Wars (there were two) in which, eventually, mankind became involved. That is how mankind learned to make war. And this deals with a moral or theological subject: Is man a warrior by nature, or was he taught to become a warrior? Book four, The Lost Realms, is the tale of the Americas. Not just what they call pre-Columbian times but four, five thousand years ago, which was before the Incas, the Mayans and the Aztecs. Who really was in the Americas, how ancient are some of the antiquities and how were such incredible megalithic structures built? What for, How come, and By Whom?

The Lost Realms shows that it is part of the same story, that the same Anunnaki brought mankind or part of mankind to the Americas. Book five, Genesis Revisited, a companion book, was really written because in the fifteen years since the first book was published, there have been many scientific advances, especially in astronomy and all the discoveries of the Voyager Spacecraft, in geology, biology, the discovery of DNA, the ability to create babies in a test tube, linguistics, and [in unlocking the secrets of] the origin of languages. Each such discovery corroborated what the Sumerians had known and had written, and therefore fully confirmed what I said in my first book. And each time there was such a discovery I would literally jump out of my seat and say, "My god, this is exactly what the Sumerians said six thousand years ago!" If you read the relevant page in The Twelfth Planet, you will see that I quote a Sumerian text that says exactly how the Adam, the first Homo sapiens, was created.* You will see that this is a process that today we call the test tube baby process. I quote a text that describes Uranus and Neptune as Voyager 2 saw them in 1986 and 1989. 1 finally sat down and put together all this scientific evidence, all these scientific discoveries to show how they match and corroborate ancient knowledge. Hence the subtitle of Genesis Revisited is Is Modern Science Catching Up With Ancient Knowledge? So, this is a review of the five books.

CL: Astounding work. And it all started with the word Nefilim? ZS: Yes. That was the beginning. CL: Might people read your books and say, well, he's doing a lot of presuming. He's got fragments of tablets, and pieces of cuneiform, and he's put many liberties in piecing together the stories? ZS: There are several different answers to that. The best answer is what I brought out in Genesis Revisited. The knowledge that we have acquired corroborates what the Sumerians knew six thousand years ago. You wonder how is it possible, how could they know? How, as another example, could their symbol of the entwined serpents, that we still use today to denote medicine and healing and biology, be 6,000 years ago, the symbol of Enki, who engaged in genetic engineering to bring about the Adam? That was a symbol of the DNA, the double helix of DNA. How could they know without telescopes and spacecraft that Neptune is a watery planet? They provided the answer by saying "All that we know we have learned from the Anunnaki. So, you say, "Ok. There were Anunnaki." Now, who were the Anunnaki and where were they from? The Sumerians say, "They came here from Nibiru." And you say, "What is Nibiru?" So they say, "It is one more planet in our solar system." Now, if you say, "I'm really impressed by the Sumerian knowledge, and, maybe they knew what they were talking about regarding the Anunnaki. But I don't think there is another planet with these advanced beings on it near Earth." If so, what is your explanation of who Anunnaki were? Was there really a race of giants who existed on Earth half a million years ago? Do you believe there was a civilization on Earth half a million years ago that surpassed our own and disappeared?

When the focus shifts to explaining those other people, you have no explanation. I then say, if you have no explanation, why not accept the word of the Sumerians? The second aspect of the answer is this. Nowhere in all these books do I use a text, or do I refer to a tablet and say, I went to this or that place in the Near East and as I was visiting that place, I shifted the soil with my foot or with a stick and look what I found! I found this tablet and look what it says! It says that there was somebody called Enki who travelled from Nibiru to Earth and splashed down in the Persian Gulf. No, nowhere do I say, "Look what I found." All the time I say, "There is a tablet in the British Museum, its catalog number is such and such; it was discovered in this and this place; the text was first published by this and this scholar, here is what it says." All the information, all the sources that I am giving, are academically, scientifically, scholarly known and accepted sources. At no time do I invent my own source.

CL: Just in The Wars of God and Men, the sources you list take up almost 16 pages! ZS: The difference is, and this is the key difference, that when there is a text, for example, that describes how Enki came to Earth and splashed down, the scholars, the text books, call this the "Myth of Enki and the Earth." Another text that deals with Enlil is called the "Myth of Enlil" and whatever the subject is. All these texts are called by scholars "mythology." I say: What if this is not a myth, what if these texts tell us what really took place? CL: Right. ZS: From that I created the scenario, a plausible, a logical scenario that explains so many of the enigmas and the puzzles and the mysteries which otherwise remain enigmas, and mysteries and puzzles. Like, who built the pyramids, what for, etc. CL: What more can you tell us about the Anunnaki, and do we have free-will or is it all determined by these same Anunnaki? ZS: I'm asked, "Do they look like us?" and I say, no, we look like them. They made us through genetic engineering. they jumped the gun on evolution, and made us to look like them physically, and to be like them emotionally. That is what the Bible says: "Let us make the Adam in our likeness and after our image." Physically, outwardly and inwardly. So much of what they are, we are. There is a tremendous difference in the lifespan, which is the cause of the notions of their immortality. Because one year to them is one orbit of theirs around the sun. So, one of their years equals three-thousand-six-hundred of ours. This is the key difference between us and them. Then there is the difference in their technological advancement which enables them not only to travel in space, and to have traveled half a million years ago, but also to revive the dead and do other things which in biblical times were considered miracles. I feel that just as they came to earth and created us through genetic engineering, and mixed their genes with those of Ape-woman, that one day we will go out in space and land on another planet somewhere and do the same thing. In this sense, I believe things are ordained in a grand pattern. But can events within this grand pattern be determined by individuals? I think so. Take the story of the Deluge and the destruction of mankind and the saving of the seed of mankind, through Noah and his ark. Enlil decided to use the opportunity of the avalanche of water to destroy mankind, while Enki told Noah, (the Sumerian Ziusudra) about what was coming. Enki taught Noah how to build an ark and cover and seal it so it wouldn't be swamped, and Noah was able to take himself and his family and others, according to the Sumerians, into the ark and save the seed of mankind. Here you have a conflict between two leaders of the Anunnaki. One felt one way and one felt another way. So the question of free choice, of what is right, what is wrong, what should be done, what should not be done, is there all along.

CL: What about the theory that we are the gods of before? That we created mankind and now are at the effect end? ZS: All I can tell you is that I see my task, or maybe my mission, to bring to the knowledge of people today what the ancient people knew and believed in. To do so by being able to go to their sources and their writings and their depictions, and treating that material not as a myth but as a true story. Now, my writings have become a basis of quite a substantial literature. There are two dozen or more books that are based on my books. These are in theology, astrology, and so on and so forth, and I am sure there are many more about which I don't know. They refer to my writings or are based on them. I provide the facts as I see them, and everyone is free to interpret them as they wish.

CL: That's the scientific way of looking at it, which makes your work even more credible, That means you're not making guesses, you're going by the actual evidence that exists. ZS: Yes. I am pleased that many have used this material as evidence, to build on it, to expound on it in various directions. Without saying whether I agree or disagree with the other theories and developments, I am very happy that my books have become text books about ancient times. CL: You said when Pluto was discovered, in 1930, text books were rewritten to accommodate that fact. Has anyone or any textbook publisher done the same with this information? ZS: It takes time, but it is beginning to filter through. CL: When is this thirty-six hundred year cycle due again? ZS: Well, you have to reach your own conclusions. CL: If every time they came back they taught us something new, and advanced our civilization, do you have a theory what their next step for us might be? ZS: No. As I said, one time they didn't give us any civilization, they tried to destroy us. So, I don't know what the odds are. CL: Is there a lesson here for us? If this is our history, what are we supposed to have learned to avert another flood when the Anunnaki come back? Or is that too unpredictable to guess? ZS: To some extent it is unpredictable because I don't know who their leader is now. Whether he is from the Enlil clan or from the Enki clan. If I knew that, I could answer you more easily. That's why I still have books to write to reach the answer. It is a big question, and the answer is not that simple.]

Another author mentioned in” Alien Agenda", Robert Morning Sky, a Hopi Native American, caught my interest next. According to his book "Star Warrior Papers," a group of six Native Americans, very soon after the well known Roswell incidence, discovered a crashed UFO with a still living alien creature inside. Before the military came to recover the wreck and suppress the evidence, this group brought the alien to their camp and over a period of a few years got the scoop on humanity's evolution from him. Like Sitchin the alien claimed that human beings were created to provide labor for alien mining operations. One faction of the aliens led by their main leader, Enki, sought to get rid of the problematic humans by casting them out into the wilderness and later allow them to die in a great flood. His brother, another powerful leader had played a big role in the creation of human beings and was inclined to save his "offspring".

Morning Sky, who differs from Sitchin's version of history in certain aspects, believes that one alien faction has control over the American government through control of the CIA and similar agencies. This faction also has bases on the back side of the moon and similarly on Mars, which brings new meaning to the famous statement by one of the astronauts who first rounded the moon on Christmas Day in 1968: "Yes, Santa Clause does exist!"

Morning Sky provides an explanation of the present absence of aliens from the 12th planet. A powerful son of Ea, called Marduk used his base in Babylon to try to wrest control of Earth from the ruling faction, in the process causing the "Tower of Babel" incident by having humans help him build space rockets, that would rival the monopoly on space travel belonging to the first faction. Marduk did not succeed but supposedly later allied with another alien race, a faction of "grays", used to living underground on their planet, due to oppression by yet another race. Control of Earth was successfully taken by this group, allowing Marduk to become the new leader of earth around 2,000 BC. His clever allies, the grays, however in turn deposed Marduk, which put a stop for the Nibiruan presence on our Earth for the last few millennia. Supposedly ever after, these grays have had control of the affairs of Earth, first through their control of the Royal and Priestly castes, and then through the intelligence agencies of our world, especially the American ones.

I was enthralled again, here was an explanation of why we did not have the Gods walking among us today. Furthermore the UFO community was buzzing with rumors and tales of the "Gray" presence in their books on the alien phenomena. Here was also a plausible explanation to the various cover-ups by our governments since the Roswell incidence. If our governments were secretly controlled by aliens, no wonder that the public was being manipulated. In my mind I was divided, half of me pondered seriously the possibility of alien control and the other half preferred the notion of an alliance between our elites and the aliens in order to further the interests of both partners, a sort of win-win situation. The trade off was alien technology for our government and access to unhindered abductions by the "grays." Recently a retired colonel, Philip Corso, revealed in his book "After Roswell" that he had been in charge of covertly seeding alien technology into US manufacturing companies in the early 60's. The grays needed access to human genes since they had earlier "screwed up" their evolution by favoring intellect instead of emotions and feelings, thus tales abound in UFO literature of abductions leading to harvesting of ova and sperm from the unlucky human victims. In some cases human females were taken aloft to meet their hybrid offspring, while being closely monitored for their emotional responses by their unfeeling hosts.

It was clear to me that Sitchin and Morning Sky were talking about the same alien culture, when they described the creation of mankind, even the names of the main alien leaders were the same. They differed in that Sitchin strictly related ancient tales form Sumerian clay tablets while Morning Sky seemed to me to be freely speculating from the same core of knowledge. In his version of how Earth was created, there existed a civil war in our solar system billions of years ago. Nibiru, the 12th planet was brought into the fight as a combined planet-weapons platform to subdue the rebels. In the resulting clashes Nibiru was damaged and deliberately sent on a collision course with Tiamat, where the rebels were living. From then on the stories converged again. The asteroid belt and our Earth were created from the collision, a moon of Tiamat's, Kingu, was torn with Earth and became our moon.

Implicit in the 3,600 year orbit by Nibiru was the fact that since the "Flood", the 12th planet must have returned several times if the "Flood" had taken place around 13,000 years ago. If a disaster of this magnitude could be created by the passing of Nibiru, what other clues were there of similar catastrophes in our history? For the moment I could come up with none.

Next on my list of interesting authors from Marrs' stable was a former army major, David Moorehouse, According to Marrs, in 1985 there had been a demonstration of a paranormal phenomenon, "remote viewing," in front of high ranking military officers in a building across from the White House. Remote viewing, defined as the ability to mentally percei ve a person, place or thing from any distance by other than the normal five senses, had been investigated after military intelligence had learned, that the Soviet Union had developed a lead in the area. Funds had been poured into research at the Stanford Research Institute, using people known for their psychic abilities. This research had been started in the early 70's and after a decade of progress it had been shown that remote viewing indeed seemed to exist, and that even normal non psychic people could be taught the techniques that enabled the ability. The process was based on making sure that the viewers through concentration and other means would alter their brain waves from normal into temporary abnormal states, allowing for the ability to surface.

The demonstration started with the psychic accurately describing the country dacha of Mikhail Gorbachev, then he proceeded to find the locations of Soviet submarines. After calmly having located one submarine off the coast of Iceland, then another off the coast of South Carolina, the psychic became visibly upset while describing a third sub in a sector of ocean between Maine and Nova Scotia. "What is it" asked one of the listeners. The psychic revealed that when viewing the sub he had also seen something else above the sub, but was reluctant to say more. "Was it an airplane", asked the listener. The viewer stayed silent. He was then asked to draw what he had seen and came up with a circle without wings. The listener said, "Well, what else could it be, you are not going to tell me it is a flying saucer? "Yes," replied the viewer, "that's it exactly!"

The strange story of David Moorehouse is related in his book "Psychic Warrior". Moorehouse had been sent with his military unit to Jordan in early 1987 for joint military exercises and training with Jordanian troops. During such an operation, he was hit accidentally by what may have been a ricochet and lost consciousness. He had a vision of being surrounded by white robed beings, one of them spoke: "Welcome David, we have been waiting for you." "What's going on?" I said in a trembling voice. "Where am I?" No one answered. "Didn't you hear me?" I asked. "Why am I here?" "We called you to give you instructions." "Instructions? Instructions about what? Who the hell are you guys?" "Who we are is not important What we have called you here for is this: You are to know from this point forward, that what you have chosen to do in the world is wrong." "Wrong? What's wrong?" I was confused and indignant - and scared to death. "What the fuck are you talking about?" "Your choice is wrong. Pursue peace. Teach peace, and the path will be made known to you. You have tasted death, now bring life. We will be with you always."

When Moorehouse came to again, he realized that he had been shot in the head, but that the bullet had been stopped by his helmet, imbedded there. He had lost consciousness due to the heavy impact, but the incident resulted only in a big bump on his head. That night he had another dream or vision: ""My eyes opened to a surreal light outside the tent. I figured one of the cooks was lighting the gas stove for breakfast and morning tea. Rising, I crawled over the sleeping bodies of my soldiers and into the fresh air of the night. The light - it was like the light from an eclipsed sun - wasn't coming from any stove. It filled the night sky. The entire Baten el Ghoul and the hills beyond were painted in a strange bluish gray light; I walked to the edge of the bluff and stared into the valley. Dark figures moved effortlessly across the floor, like apparitions. They poured from the rocks in various heaps and shapes and moved about the clusters of tents. I could hear muffled cries from the Jordanian encampment and momentarily I thought we were being overrun by thieves or maybe even Israelis. Panicked I turned to run for help. Colliding with one of the figures, I reflexively closed my eyes - except I didn't collide. I walked straight through it. Turning around I watched the figure disappear over the edge of the bluff. Finally I lapsed into unconsciousness."

A few days later Moorehouse visited the ancient city of Petra, famous for its cliff reliefs in stone. There he had another vision, this time while being awake: "The wind blew bits of rock and dust, pelting my face. It was then that I had the perception I was being watched. There, next to the obelisk was the same being I had seen in the first vision, the one who had spoken to me from the hilltop. He stared at me from fifty feet away, his white robes blowing in the wind. I raised my head until I was looking him dead in the eye, and stayed that way for what seemed an eternity. He smiled knowingly. "Seek peace....and become a teacher of it," said the enchanting voice. He then nodded slightly and turned to walk out of sight behind the obelisk. I ran so I could see behind the obelisk - but he wasn't there. I circled it but found nothing."

After returning home Moorehouse realized that he was not the same man as before. Most nights he would dream lucidly: "Faces and images of distant friends would come to me even though I knew they were thousands of miles away. I began seeing things in my mind - imperfectly at first, but with increasing clarity. As the months passed, I actually came to believe that I could see forward in time or predict the outcome of certain events. It was an odd feeling having my mind's eye open all the time. I began referring to it as the television in my head."

When Moorehouse finally couldn't take the strain of not knowing what was going on with him any longer, he sought help from an army psychiatrist. When the psychiatrist learned the nature of his problem, he arranged for Moorehouse to be enrolled in the existing remote viewing program called "Stargate." There he became one of the elite viewers within months. As an accomplished remote viewer, he would in practice view "targets" such as Nazi concentration camps, the Ark of the Covenant and the Desert Storm war of the early 90's. While viewing the oil fires set by retreating Iraqi troops, he realized that chemical weapons canisters had been placed downwind of the smoke from the oil fires. The poison gas mingled with the smoke and exposed countless thousands of allied troops. He gradually grew disillusioned with the use the military authorities made of the precious gift of remote viewing. More and more he desired that this incredible technique would be used for the betterment of mankind. When he took steps to bring his knowledge to the public, the military brass came down hard on him. He was harassed with threats of military court marshal and finally had to retire from the US army.

While reading the incredible story of David Moorehouse, my mind was frequently making somersaults all over itself. I trusted Jim Marrs implicitly. He had spent time with, and interviewed David Moorehouse extensively. He took remote viewing and the viewers very seriously. By this time, having already accepted the existence of aliens, I was inclined to allow for the possibility that something as fantastic as remote viewing could actually exist, especially since the military authorities denied that such a phenomenon was possible. Ever since I had run into the eminent Vincent Salandria, a Philadelphia attorney, during my studies of the JFK assassination, I had developed a new attitude towards evidence. Salandria had started his JFK-investigation with the premise that if Lee Harvey Oswald had been the assassin, everything would fall neatly into place and there would be no other evidence, no loose ends. To his chagrin he found loose ends everywhere, which made a dissenter out of him. I noticed that I had slowly started to think in the same way: If there were loose ends, that indicated that the authorities had something to hide, if there were no loose ends, I was satisfied that nothing was amiss.

I would later call this way of thinking "Salandria's Law," which loosely stated: "If there are loose ends, there has to be something causing these loose ends, and if there are no loose ends, everything is OK." I suddenly realized that there were tons of loose ends in the legends and tales of religions all over the world. Didn't the Bible talk about souls, angels, devils and the importance of being good to your fellow man, that the ultimate goal of our lives was to learn how to love each other and then we would go to heaven. Salandria's Law all of a sudden mandated that there had to be some reality to all these concepts so long totally ignored by me. I was shocked, flabbergasted, but at the same time reluctantly exited. In my discovery of Sitchin's and Morning Sky's versions of reality I thought I finally had done away with the concept of "God" totally. Now it seemed that I would have to incorporate some kind of metaphysical concept into my changing view of how the world worked. Was it possible that an alien civilization, the Nibiruan one, had created us through genetic engineering, but some kind of Intelligent Consciousness still existed, hidden behind the shadows of reality. I was determined to find out. A whole new field of study had been opened up.
