Louisville's Relaxed Recumbent Riders' Group

Dedicated to the idea that cycling can be comfortable!

Pictures of tandems seen on July 9th

As is our wont, some of us met at Seneca Park for the "Second Sunday" ride for July.  This was the first group appearance for Larry, Peg, and their son Ricky.  They brought their two BikeEs--a CT and a new E2 they got from Scheller's Fitness and Cycling this spring.  As often happens, people who ride one type of recumbent want to try others.  Sherry wanted to experience the back seat of the E2, and Ricky wanted to try the back seat of Harry and Sherry's Duplex.  Here are some pictures of the resulting smiles!

Here's Sherry sampling the ride on the back of Larry's E2 (and I STILL think they should have called it the "Et tu!").  Yes, the fork looks like it's on backward.  The bike really does ride better like that.

Ricky, being the typical curious recumbent rider, HAD to try the back seat of Harry and Sherry's tandem.  Also in this picture are the back end of my Vanguard and Larry's BikeE CT.

And of course, when there are two recumbent tandems in one place hereabouts, there should be pictures to prove it!

Peggy also wanted to try the back seat of Harry and Sherry's Duplex.  Sorry, no thumbnail/big image thing this time.

Here are Harry and Sherry, ready to go.  Note the nice touches, like helmets matching each other AND the bike.

And here is yours truly, during the pre-ride strategy session.  I was glad I'd ridden my Vanguard today, as it made for a balanced group--two BikeEs, two Ryan products, two tandems, two singles.
