WHEN DID I START TO LOVE YOU?

When did I start to love you?
Let me stop and reminese,
Of all the days and moments
That have fostered all our bliss!

We met by chance one evening
On a blind date in the fall,
We both were very comfortable,
together, I  recall.

A pleasant smile was on your face
I knew right from the start,
You were someone to get to know;
I filed you in my heart!

Was it when I would mess things up
And you would take me back,
A love, so true, revealed in you,
You kept things right on track!

Was it when you said that you would
Unite your life with mine?
Or when we said 'I do,' that night,
I knew things would be fine!

Or was it on our wedding night,
When first you gave to me,
Your virgin heart and body that
You'd saved so faithfully!

Perhaps it was the day that we
First realized our dream,
When we picked up that tiny child,
And on your face that beam!

Maybe it was the time you called
To tell me the great news,
Another child was on her way;
This time we would not choose!

It might just be that special time
The loving gift you gave,
A brand new set of golf clubs with
Some money that you'd save!

Surely it was that shining day

For service, fifteen years,
Just knowing you'd been by my side
Brought to my eyes, small tears!

I really can't recall one day
That stands out from the rest,
But after thirty-five great years
Sweetheart, you're still the best!

When did I start to love you first?
I guess we'll never know!
But I pledge to you faithfully
To help our love to grow!
