To My Unborn Grandchild God spoke to me softly and gently today, As if something special He wanted to say. He spoke to my spirit encouraging thoughts, Of something my desperate soul surely wants! I've prayed, oh, so often as God fashions you, With His divine pattern and perfect love, too. Bombarding His throne with my constant request; Knowing for certain that He knows what's best! There is no mistake what I've asked Him to do, As lovingly, daily He takes care of you! Into this cruel world, as He brings you, I plead, That He will provide for your every need! No wiser to yield to, no greater to trust, Than Almigty God into whose hands we thrust All our frustrations and all of our fears; He has been so faithful through all of these years! I long just to cuddle you, safe and secure, To offer encouragement, comfort and cheer. So I will continue to wait patiently, Until, closer together, he brings you and me! You will be so fortunate, my little child, To have two great parents, so strong, yet, so mild. Just heed their advice and instructions to you, They'll parent with faith and strong character, too! So, until you make your appearance, that day, You'll occupy my mind, and daily I'll pray. I'll trust Him and look to that blessed event, When all of us will be fulfilled and content!
