LEADERSHIP I've seen the geese fly in a 'V' But, still, it is a mystery to me I never knew the reason why, Just one in front, when they fly high. That lonely goose that's in the lead Provides windlift the others need. Every goose in tight formation Conserves his energy in migration. When each one's turn comes, I am told, His very best, does not withhold. He leads without a reservation, Not a sign of hesitation! First one to lead falls to the rear . . . Does not quit . . . does not disappear! 'Honks', with the others, loud and strong, Encouraging the leader on. Most time it's lonely in the lead! Will your effort fail or succeed? Others will get a 'lift' from you, If to your vision you stay true. They'll follow your example, too, And do the things they see you do. They may just learn from your mistakes. See the difference a 'model' makes! Tired, discouraged, you want to quit? Remember the geese--stick to it! When time comes for others to lead, Just get behind them . . . meet their need!
