In every skirmish, every fight, There is a battle plan, To guide our efforts to defeat The enemy at hand. Important that we know the plan; The part that we will play. What will the final results be? There's only one to say. There will be times in life when we Retreat from battle lines, To re-assess the damage done From enemy placed mines! Sometimes the wounds are very deep And take so long to heal. Sometimes we are not ready for The pain that we will feel! We disobeyed when orders came; We did what we thought best, And stepped upon a hidden 'mine'... Of course you know the rest! Commander's told us many times His commands our edict. "Obedience will bring blessings, Disobedience...great conflict!" I take the manual once again And read His words so clear; The promise that He'll be with me... I'll never need to fear!
