Sometimes I find myself upon the sea of life, Just drifting aimlessly, with so much doubt. No paddle, rudder, map or source of power … My destination, hard to figure out! The sun beats down intensely as it cooks my brain, The loneliness escapes me while I sleep. I cry for help, but no one seems to hear me, My greatest fear … winding up in the Deep! Strong hunger pains, each day, seem more than I can bear. The thirst upon my parched lips lingers on. My body's weak and strength is fading, oh, so fast. Faith, hope and confidence is almost gone! Just then I see Him walking on the water. I rub my eyes, hoping it's not a dream! There's no mistake; He's coming straight toward me, The beating of my heart is so extreme! He reaches out and wraps His arms about me; His strong embrace makes me forget my fear! I focus on my Savior, not my problems, Allowing my tender heart to hear, "When I was here I weathered all the storms of life; While walking on this earth so long ago. I sailed these stormy waters many times, back then. 'I'm always there', the Father let me know!" "When problems get so bad you can't endure them; Relationships become your enemy. When circumstances have you bound and fettered, Always remember, I can set you free!" So when the fog is thick and clouds are gloomy, About then, you will see Him passing by. And if you've placed your faith and trust in Jesus, There'll always be a rainbow in your sky! January 14, 1998 BACK Back to "Searching For A Rainbow" |
