There are at least three Origins of the Turner Family Name - France, England, and Germany

Components of the French Turner Coat of Arms -The Shield is: On a blue background there is a black and silver tower. 

Components of the English Turner Coat of Arms - The Shield is: Ermine, three fers de moline. The Crest is: Half a lion rampant holding a fer-de-moline The motto is: "Pro Patria".

Components of the German Turner Coat of Arms - The Shield is: Red background with a silver tower in the center. The Crest is: Five ostrich feathers. 

 

        My Husband and I have several Turner lines between us.  I have a Nancy Turner who married  Henry Conaway 1806 in Warren County Georgia.  I believe her father to be John Turner who lived near Henry Conaway but have not been able to prove it.

        This Turner line is that of the Revolutionary War Soldier Noel Turner who married Sarah Turner.  Family tradition says that the 2 Turner families were not related.  Noel supposedly met her with his unit camped on the ground of her father.  He asked her to wait for him and he returned after the war to marry her.  Would like to correspond with anyone working this line.
