José Faustín Abeitia, son of Bartolomé Abeita, deceased, and María Loreta Mora, married María Josefa Rodrígues, daughter of Sevastián Rodrígues and Jacinta Ruiz de Viveros at NSG on 15 Dec. 1783.

Bartolomé Abetia and Maria Mora baptized their son José Luis Faustin at NSG on 18 Dec 1762; the infant was born on the 15th. The same couple baptized a daughter, Maria Antonia Policarpia at NSG on 30 Jan 1778 (b. 26th) and son, José Victoriano, (b. 5th) on 9 Sept 1781.(JCA r. 5)

Aganza, Ignacio: Español from Paso, 20, farmer, married to Casimiras Montoya, Española from Paso, 18. His family: 1 son, 5. (1788-166)

José Ignacio de Aganza, son of Miguel Aganza, deceased, and Juana Telles, married at NSG on 17 Sept. 1786 Casimira Montoya, daughter of Dionisio Montoya and Damacia Padilla.

The parents of José Ignacio de Aganza, Miguel Aganza and Juana María Telles were married at NSG on 1 Sept. 1766. (Magdaleno, p. 73)

Did Ignacio have a second marriage and, if so, another relationship would be found in the DM at NSG on 6 Feb. 1824 for Tomás Ribera of Paso, son of Juan Antonio Rivera and Feliciana Telles, and Biviana Agansa of Paso, daughter of Ignacio Agansa, deceased, and Vicenta Madrid, who lives. Aguilar, Alfonso: mulatto from Paso, 38, musician, married to Maria Rosa Lujan, mulatta from Paso, 30. His family: 1 orphan girl, 7. (1788-375).

Antonio Ildefonzo, son of Juan Bizente Aguilar and Maria Manuela Padilla, was baptized at NSG on 24 Jan 1751. (JCA, r. 5) An Antonio Ildefonso Aguilar, son of Juan Aguilar and Manuela Enrríquez, deceased, married María Rosa Luján, daughter of Domingo Luján and Anna María Torres at NSG on 10 July 1780. The Padilla and Enrríquez surnames seem to have been interchanged, as on 24 Sept 1761 Juan Matheo, born the 21st, son of Juan de Aguilar and Manuela Enrríquez was baptized at NSG (JCA, r. 5)

DM at NSG on 30 May 1767 for Juan de Águila, mulato esclavo of don Juan Calderón, widower from his marriage to Manuela Enríquez, and Juana Victoria Naranjo, widow of Phelipe Cano. (EPPL Cleofas Callero Collection). Juan de Aguilar, mulato esclavo, widower from his marriage to Manuela Enríques married Victoria Naranjo, widow of Phelipe Cano at NSG on 9 June 1767. At NSG on 25 Feb. 1772, Juan Joseph, legitimate son of Juan de Auilar and Juana Lucía, mulatos libres, was buried. (Magdaleno, 153; LDS 1156606)

At NSG on 11 Aug 1777, José Manuel Aguilar and Maria Francisca Trujillo baptized their son José Domingo. The yalso baptized their son José Anastacio at NSG on 1 Apr 1780 (b. 29 Mar). (JCA, r. 5)

At NSG on 18 Nov. 1772, Joseph Manuel Aguilar, legitimate son of Juan de Aguilar and Manuela Bazquez, dec., mulatos libres, married María Francisca Trugillo, legitimate daughter of Joseph Truxillo, deceased, and Margarita Suaso, vecinos of Paso.

DM at NSG on 22 Mar. 1793 for José del Castillo, 21, español, native and citizen of Paso, legitimate son of don José Manuel Castillo and doña María Josefa García, and doña Dolores Aguirre, 22, española, native of Julimes and Paso citizen, legitimate daughter of don Juaquin Aguirre and dozna Getrudis Fernándes.

Lázaro Benito de Aguirre made his will at El Paso on 20 Aug. 1790. He was son of Benito Aguirre and Estefana Granillo, both deceased, and married Ana Porras, widow of Antonio Valle. Lázaro and Ana had three children: Rafael, Francisco, and María Josefa. A fourth child, María de Carmen was added in a second will of 8 May 11805. DM at San Elceario on 12-13 Nov 1791 and at Paso on 14 Nov 1791 for José Ronquillo, 22, soldier in the companía del cargo, español, legitimate son of Diego Ronquillo and Getrudis Diás, and doña Juana Alcalá, 21, española, Paso native and citizen, legitimate daughter of don Lucas de Alcalá and doña María Antonia Básques Borrego.

DM at NSG from 24 Sept. to 16 Oct. 1804 for don Felipe Contreras, 28, español, native of the Paso jurisdiction legitimate son of don Antonio Contreras and doña Felipa Alderete, and Luisa Alderete, Paso native, 16, española, legitimate daughter of don Manuel Alderete and doña Rosa Fernández. The couple, being related by consanguinity in the fourth degree by a transverse line, a genealogical tree was created:

Parents of both petitioners gave written permission for their children to marry. Baptismal certificates provided showed that on 14 Sept. 1776, Felipe de la Cruz, legitimate son of Antonio Contreras and Felipa Alday was baptized at Paso with Juan García and his wife, Getrudis Fuentes as padrinos. At Paso on 24 June 1788, María Luisa, age 3 days, española de la tierra, legitimate daughter of don Manuel Alderete and doña Rosa Fernández was baptized with don George Guereña and doña María Gertrudis Fernández as padrinos. A dispensation subject to the banns not give rise to additional impediments was granted at Durango on 16 Oct. 1904. (AHAD 360: 517-526)

At NSG on 2 Feb. 1740, Joseph Alejandro de Apodaca married Antonia Bartola Brito. Magdaleno, 13)

Alejandro Apodaca and Bartola Brito baptized at NSG: Rosa de la Santissima Trinidad on 25 May 1750; Francisco Maria, español, on 20 Sept 1753; Maria Izidora Josepha on 23 Apr 1756; Nicolas Antonio on 8 Dec 1758; Juan Pablo Joseph on 28 June 1761; Maria Candelaria on 7 Feb 1764. (JCA, r. 5)

Alejandro Apodaca and Antonia [Barthola] Arriola Brito had a legitimate son, Juan Antonio Apodaca, an español from the pueblo of Guadalupe [del Paso] who had a DM at NSG on 18 Apr. 1770 with Juachina Lucero, 16, an española from the pueblo of Guadalupe, the legitimate daughter of Antonio Jph. Lucero and Paula Durán; he may be the Juan Antonio Baca listed as a widower below. Juan Antonio Apodaca and Juachina Lucero married at NSG on 3 May 1770. Another of their sons is found in DM at NSG on 4 Mar. 1768 for Leonardo Apodaca [who does not appear to be the same Leonardo Apodaca listed below] and Antonia Barthola Brito, citizen of Paso, and Bárbara Gonsáles, 20, legitimate daughter of Agustín Gonsáles, deceased, and Gerónima Ábalos, citizens of the Mission del Real. At NSG on 3 May 1770, Juan Antonio Apodaca, legitimate son of Alexandro Apodaca and Antonia Bartola Brito, married Juachina Lucero, legitimate daughter of Antonio Joseph Lucero and Paula Durán. (Magdaleno, p. 81)

A DM at NSG on 13 Sept. 1777 took place for Vicente Apodaca, legitimate son of Domingo Apodaca and Francsica Varela, natives and citizens of El Paso, and María Carmen Herrera, 19, legitimate daughter of Salvador de Herrera and Brianda Rosa Lucero also citizens of El Paso. When Vicente discovered that he was related to María del Carmen in the fourth degree equally of consanguinity, he determined to call off the wedding as he did not wish to expose his intended or himself to malicious gossip. When he found that he could not induce another woman to marry him, he petitioned for a dispensation so he could marry Carmen. At the hearing, witness Patricio Lucero de Godoy, 85, said that the couple were not related, as though there were many Lucero family members in the area, that the bride's family were Lucero de Godoy, while the others were Lucero Terronates, and thus unrelated. Then witness Miguel Lucero, 97, said that the couple came from the same Lucero family trunk, that Vicente's grandfather had married several times in New Mexico prior to the 1680 Revolt, and produced 30 boys and 3 girls from those unions, and the last child was Vicente's grandmother. A dispensation was recommended for the couple, and it was awarded subject to the following: on their marriage day, the couple were to kneel on the top step of the high altar after mass and recite a prayer to the Blessed Sacrament petitioning God to grant welfare for the church, the Pope, the souls in Purgatory, the Spanish monarchy, and the needs of the general public. The couple asked for a dispensation based on angustia loci, saying that all in the area are related, and that there are no parajes nearby where one could find a person to marry without an impediment. The priest termed the relationship as one of the third degree by a transverse line. Baptismal certificates were furnished which said that on 24 Feb. 1774 José Manuel Telles, who was born on the 21st of the same month, legitimate son of José Antonio Telles and Catarina García, españoles, was baptized, likely at San Lorenzo del Real, the place where the certificate was made; and at Paso on 27 July 1808 María del Carmen de la Cruz, one day old, parents unknown was baptized. Baptismal certificates showed that at Paso on 17 Apr. 1788 José Basilio, son of Vicente López and María Lutgarda [sic] Díaz was baptized; at San Lorenzo el Real on 1 July 1790 two day old María Gertrudis Veanes was baptized. A dispensation was granted at Durango on 9 Oct. 1809 based on angustia loci.

DM at NSG on 11 Dec. 1775 for Antonio Lino Ábalos, Indio, widower from his marriage to María Josefa Gómes, citizens of Paso, and María Magdalena Flores, age 17, legitimate daughter of Juan Antonio Flores and Pasquala Medina, deceased, citizens of Paso. An earlier marriage in this extended family is that at NSG on 29 Feb. 1772 for Joseph Abalos, legitimate son of Antonio Lino Abalos and María Josepha, Indios, to María Josepha Valdés, legitimate daughter of Andrés de la Cruz, deceased, and María Theresa Valdés, deceased, mestizos.
