At NSG on 20 Apr. 1778, Juan Francisco Madrid of unknown parents, criado for Antonio Madrid, married Juana Lucero, daughter of Santos Lucero and María Trujillo.

Due to the similarity in given names, and though the family tree provided in the DM do not tie in directly, it appears that the DM at NSG from 24 April to 8 June 1802 for José Gabriel Madrid, 28, Paso native, legitimate son of José Madrid and María Esmerenciana del Río, and María Manuela Márquez, 20, legitimate daughter of Agustín Márquez and Manuela Sánchez, all Paso natives and citizens. The family tree related by witnesses was:

Baptismal certificates provided stated that at Paso on 1 June 1782, María Manuela, age 2 days, of unknown parents was baptized, despite the fact that relations were noted in the family tree. On 27 Jan. 1774 at Paso, José Gabriel, legitimate son of José Madrid and María Emerenciana Ríos was baptized with José Miguel Fuentes and María Gertrudis Fuentes, brother and sister, as the padrinos. Domingo Ronqui at the Presidio of Princesa, others were also mentioned so that it began to sound as if she were a camp follower. After all the adverse testimony, María Paula decided she did not wish to marry soldier Márquez.

DM at NSG 111-15 Nov. 1777 for Hermenegildo Montoya, captain of the first company of militia of the El Paso Presidio, widower from his first marriage to Pascuala Romero, legitimate son of Alférez Nicolás Montoya and María Márquez, both deceased natives and citizens of El Paso, and María Dolores Valencia, 32, widow of Lázaro Vargas, legitimate daughter of Nicolás Valencia, deceased, and Juana Niño Ladrón de Guevara, españoles, all natives and citizens of El Paso. The couple required a dispensation as they were related in the second degree of affinity: as the bride and the groom's late wife were daugthers of two half-brothers whose mother, Josefa del Villar, had married twice. Josefa was the mother of Pedro Romero, half brother of Josefa's son, Nicolás Valencia by her second marriage; Pedro Romero was father of Pascuala Romero, the prospective groom's first wife, and Pascuala was a first cousinof María Dolores Valencia, daughter of Nicolás Valencia. Hermenegildo Montoya stated that María Dolores was a poor widow with whom he had fornicated while her husband was alive, while María Dolores admitted such actions and stated she wished to marry Montoya. Matiana Soledad Montoya, widow of Bartolomé Luján, a citizen of El Paso, whose marriage produced no children, made her will at El Paso on 20 Feb. 1790. Domingo de la Mora was asked why he had kept the background secret since his youth, and he responed that his mother, Casimira Lucero de Godoy, and his grandfather, Lázaro Lucero de Godoy, inorder to avoid the implications of incest, had indicated that Lázario had an illicit relationship with Pasquala Belarde, and from that relationship Pasquala gave birth to Casimira Lucero. Both sets of parents granted their approval for the proposed marriage. Baptismal certificates showed that on 9 [month omitted] 1788, Tomás Ignacio, born the 7th of that same month, legitimate son of José Miguel del Villar and Manuela Padilla was baptized at Paso; José García Carvajal and his wife, María Bonifacia del Villar were padrinos. On 9 April 1782 at Paso, two day old María Josefa, legitimate daughter of Domingo Mora and Josefa Verdugo was baptized; don Ignacio Ascarate and his wife, doña Isabel [Elias] Gonzáles were padrinos. A dispensation was granted at Durango on 14 May 1804 with the documents being returned to Paso on 25 May with orders to proclaim the banns three times, and if no additional impediment was found that the marriage should proceed. DM at NSG on 17 Oct. 1778 for Francisco Días Moradillos, native of Cabrales in the Principality of Asturias, in the kingdom of Castile, resident of Paso, legitimate son of don Antonio Días, and doña María Moradillos, both deceased, citizens of the Pueblo of Arenas de Cabrales, and doña Juana Rita Elias González, legitimate daughter of don Francisco Elias González and doña Francisca Elias del Carpio, citizens of Paso. The prospective groom was dispensed from the impediment of being from overseas (where obtaining proof of baptism, no prior marriages, etc, was difficult and time consuming to obtain), and Fr. Damián Martínez ordered that banns be proclaimed, and if no impediment was raised, that the marriage proceed. (CAT 3: 678 only)
