Soldier enlistments and other roster records for the Presidio of Santa Fe (PSF), and a few other individual records for the war years, 1779-1783, follow. A plus (+) is shown by each one known to have married or to have had children. The wife's name is given when known. The source of the information is given for each one. As all the entry names on this list are known patriots, the asterisk * is omitted. Source material is given for each military record (e.g. 1d; NMG) . Francisco Tafoya+ (c 1755 NM - ). 1. enl 11 Jan 1779, 21:844, farmer, son of soldier Juan Tafoya and Gertrúdis Almazán of SF. Joseph FranciscoTafoya md Mariana Rael 17 Feb 1783, SFLC.

 

José Miguel Tafoya+ (c 1757 NM - 5 Apr 1781). 1a, 1c. enl 1 Jul 1779, Sonora Exped, 1780/81, 21:867, farmer, son of Juan Miguel Tafoya and Antonia Sandovál of SF. 1d. PSF, 1785. 2a.

 

Joseph Miguel Tafoya+ (c 1749 NM - ). 1. enl 1 Jan 1769, in Sonora Exped 1780/81, invalid 28 Feb 1798, 21:774, farmer, son of Felipe Tafoya and Teresa Fernández of SF. 2a, wife: Manuela Olguín. Other records show he md (1) Catharina de la Luz Ortega on 3 May 1768, SFSF, and, (2) Manuela Olguín, and (3) on 30 Oct 1806 at La Parroquia to María Gertrúdis Lovato (AASF 31:0458).

 

Juan Antonio Tafoya+ (c 1721 - ). 1. enl 12 Aug 1740, invalid 8 Apr 1779, 21:742, farmer, son of Antonio Tafoya and María Rosa Godines of SF. 1c. PSF invalid, 1 Jan 1781. 1d. PSF, 1785. 2a. He and Gertrúdis Almasan were parents of groom Joseph Francisco Tafoya 17 Feb 1783 at SFLC. He was grandfather of orphan bride María de la Luz Tafoya in 1798.

 

Juan Andrés Tafoya+ (c 1759 NM - ). 1. enl 1 Apr 1781, disch 4 Aug 1796, 21:891, farmer, son of Miguel Tafoya and Antonia Sandovál of SF. 1d. PSF, 1785, en Chiguagua. 2a. Md María Francisca Fernández on 17 Apr 1786 at La Parroquia (AASF 31:0355).

 

Narciso Tapia ( ). Legajo 7278, IX, 36, Lt at Janos in 1787. He had been on the Sonora Expedition and a Janos officer during the Apache wars.

 

Joaquín Tenório ( ). 1c, d. PSF, 1781 and 1785.

 

José Miguel Tenório+ (c 1748 NM - ). 1a. enl 11 Feb 1781, replacing Antonio Padilla, invalid 15 Jul 1802, 21:887, farmer, son of Miguel Tenório and Bárbara Tafoya of SF. 1d. PSF, 1785. 2a. He md Polonia Romero on 8 Nov 1781 at La Castrense (AASF 31:0225).

 

Miguel Tenório de Alva y Corona+ (c 1731 NM - before 26 Jan 1794, when his widow died). 1a. enl 1 Aug 1771, disch 1 Jul 1779, 21:794, farmer, son of Manuel Tenório de Alva and Francisca de la Vega of SF. 2a. He md (1) Bárbara Tafoya and their ch bap at SF, incl: Joaquina, 24 Apr 1748; Juana Nepomucena, 27 Apr 1751; Salvadór de Orta, 23 Mar 1757; and José Miguel. He md (2) Teodora Fernández de la Pedrera, widow of Nicolás Baca of Ciénega, on 21 Sep 1758 at La Parroquia (AASF 31:0079). He was father of the bride 10 Nov 1781 at SFLC.

 

Salvadór de Orta Tenório+ (bap 23 Mar 1757, SF, NM - ). 1a. enl 11 Jan 1779, inv 1 Sep 1792, 21:845, farmer, son of Sgt Miguel Tenório and Bárbara Tafoya of Santa Ana. 1d. PSF, 1785, in Chiguagua. 2a. Md Ana María Rael, daughter of José Rael and Juliana Rodríquez, on 4 Aug 1776 at La Parroquia (AASF 31:0143-0144).

 

Francisco Antonio Torres+ (c 1755 NM - ). 1a. enl 1 Jul 1779, invalid 25 May 1808, 21:863, farmer, son of soldier Martín Torres and María Pachéco of SF. 1d. PSF, 1785. 2a. Md María Ana Rafaela Moya, 22 Sep 1781 at La Castrense (AASF 31:0224).

 

Francisco Martín Torres+ (c 1753 NM- ). 1a, 1c. enl 1 Jul 1779, Sonora Exped 1780/81, invalid 22 Feb 1798, 21:880, farmer, son of soldier Martín Torres and María Pachéco of SF. 1c. PSF, 1 Jan 1781. 1d. PSF, 1785. 2a, wife: María Borrego. Md (1) María Anastacia Borrego, 25 Sep 1780, Belén (AASF 31:0221). Ch incl: María Manuela, md José Tomás Quintana, son of Matías Quintana and María Teodora Gonzáles; Ramón, md María Luisa Jaramillo, d/o José Jaramillo and María Francisca Lucero, on 18 Feb 1824 at La Parroquia (AASF 31:0591-0592); Rafaela, md José Gonzáles on 24 Jan 1826 at La Parroquia (AASF 31:0628). Martín Torres+ (1726 NM - ). 1a. enl 1 Jul 1751, invalid 1 Jul 1779, 21:749, farmer, son of Diégo Torres and María Martín of Villa de Albuquerque.. 1d. PSF, 1785. 2a. 4:302, PSF soldier in 1761. Md María Francisca Pachéco on 18 Jan 1754 at Parroquia (AASF 31:0067). Ch incl: Francisco Martín (shown above); and Francisco Antonio (shown above) and probably others.

 

Capt. Francisco (Navarro) Trebol [Trebol Navarro]+ ( - bur 10 June 1785 SF Presidio Chapel). 3a. Commandante, PSF, 1785. 7, temp. gov. of NM, 1778. 10:997, 1778. 13:8, Chihuahua estate settlement, 1792. Md María Ignacia de la Luz Baca on 9 Oct 1765 at Isleta. She died 25 Oct 1790. Ch incl: José; Manuela; María Luisa; María Francisca; and María Isabel.

 

Vicente Troncoso+ (1752 NM - deceased by 20 Apr 1793). 1c. Lt, PSF, 1 Jan 1781. Legajo 7278, VII, 44, 2d Lt, PSF, 1791. 2a, wife: María Ygnacio Bernál, whom he md 15 Feb 1779 at La Castrense (AASF 31:0218). Ch were Juan Manuel Andrés who died 13 Dec 1780 at one year; Nicolasa, wife of Juan Estéban Pino; and Guadalupe, wife of Mariano Pena. Vicente was nephew of Gov. Anza (ONMF:296).

 

Juan José Trujillo+ (c 1758 NM - ). 1a. enl 1 Jul 1779, invalid 1 June 1806, 21:865, son of Juan José Trujillo, Cpl of Vol. Comp. of Chihuahua, and María Luján of SF. 1c. PSF, 1 Jan 1781. 1d. PSF, 1785. 2a. Md María Francisca Tapia, 2 Oct 1781, La Castrense (AASF 31:0224).

 

Juan Miguel Trujillo+ (1750 NM - 9 May 1797). 1a. enl 1 Nov 1780, 21:886, farmer, son of Ysidro Trujillo and Javiela Torres of Belén. 1d. PSF, 1785, en Chiguagua. 2a. Md María Ortíz on 7 Nov 1783 at La Castrense (AASF 31:0339).
