SETTINGS: After registration is complete and your Prodigy Internet account is established, you may use Netscape Navigator as your default browser by configuring the following settings:BROWSER SETTINGS - see instructions for version 3 or version 4
Proxy: proxy.prodigy.net port 8080
No Proxy: www.prodigy.net, enroll.prodigy.net

BROWSER SETTINGS
Launch the Netscape Navigator browser. Select 'Edit' from the Menu Bar and choose 'Preferences...' Click 'Advanced' and then click 'Proxies' Select 'Manual Proxy Configuration' and click the [View...] button In the box for HTTP proxy server address, enter "proxy.prodigy.net" (without quotes); and enter the port [8080] In the Exceptions box ("Do not use proxy servers for domains beginning with:") enter "www.prodigy.net, enroll.prodigy.net" Note: Commas are used to separate exempted addresses. Click OK From the 'Preferences' window, click on 'Navigator' Make sure the setting for 'Navigator starts with' is 'Home Page' For 'Home Page' location, enter "http://www.prodigy.net" Click OK to save changes

MAIL and NEWS SETTINGS
Launch Communicator Select 'Edit' from the Menu Bar and choose 'Preferences...' Click on 'Mail & Groups' [+] to expand. Click on 'Identity' Enter your name as you wish it to appear on messages you send. (ex. John Doe) Enter your e-mail address as you wish it to appear on messages you send. (ex. johndoe@prodigy.net) Enter Organization (optional) In the 'Reply-to address:' box, enter the e-mail address where you wish replies to your messages to be delivered (ex. johndoe@prodigy.net) Click 'Mail Server' In the 'Mail server user name' box, enter "your Prodigy Internet user ID" (ex. johndoe) In the 'Outgoing mail (SMTP) server:' box, enter "smtp.prodigy.net" In the 'Incoming mail server:' box, enter "pop.prodigy.net" Select POP3 not IMAP Select whether your wish to "Leave messages on the server" after retrieval. Click the [More Options...] button Enter or browse to the 'Local mail directory' where your mail is saved on your hard disk. (ex. C:\Program Files\Netscape\users\username\Mail) Select the option to [x] Check for mail every [xx] minutes. When checked, Communicator will notify you of new e-mail waiting to be downloaded. Select the option to [x] Remember or [ ] not Remember your password. Click OK Select 'Groups Server' In the 'Discussion groups (news) server:' enter "news.prodigy.net" and Port 119 In the 'Discussion groups (news) folder:' box, enter or browse to your local news directory where newsgroups are saved on your hard disk (ex. C:\ProgramFiles\Netscape\Users\username\news) Click OK to save changes.

NETSCAPE NAVIGATOR versions 3.0xBROWSER SETTINGS
Launch the Netscape Navigator browser. Select 'Options' from the Menu Bar and choose "Network Preferences..." Select the "Proxies" tab Select the "Manual Proxy Configuration" and click the [View....] button In the box for HTTP proxy server address, enter "proxy.prodigy.net" (without quotes); and enter the Port: [8080] In the "No proxy for" box, enter "www.prodigy.net, enroll.prodigy.net" These are proxy exemptions. Note: Commas are used to separate exempted addresses. Click OK to save the Manual Proxy settings. Click OK to save the Network Preferences. Select 'Options' from the Menu Bar and choose "General Preferences...." Select the 'Appearance' tab Under 'Startup' settings, in 'Browser Starts With:' choose 'Home Page Location:' and enter http://www.prodigy.net in the field Click OK to save changes to your settings.

Select the 'Servers' tab In the "Outgoing Mail (SMTP) server:" box, enter "smtp.prodigy.net" In the "Incoming mail (POP3) server:" box, enter "pop.prodigy.net" In the "POP3 User Name" box, enter "your Prodigy Internet user ID" (ex. johndoe) In the "Mail Directory:" box, enter the Netscape directory for mail on your hard disk (ex. C:\Program Files\netscape\Mail) In the "News (NNTP) Server" box, enter "news.prodigy.net" In the "News RC directory" box, enter the Netscape directory for news on your hard disk (ex. C:\Program Files\netscape\News) Select the 'Identity' tab In the "Your Name" box, enter your name as you wish it to appear in the header of messages you send. (ex. John Doe) In the "Your Email" box, enter "your e-mail address" as you wish it to appear in headers of messages you send (ex. johndoe@prodigy.net) In the "Reply-to Address" box, enter the e-mail address of your account where you wish replies to your messages to be delivered (ex. johndoe@prodigy.net) Click OK to save changes to your settings.
