Important: As of NOW all migrated or original AT&T email accounts use these server settings --
POP3 [incoming] -- pop.att.yahoo.com -- Port: 995
SMTP [outbound] -- smtp.att.yahoo.com -- Port: 465

Account  SMTP  - SMTP default  - POP3
 Outlook Express allows you to add a new email account to your existing profile. This means you do not have to replace your current settings in order to send and receive SBC Yahoo! Dial Mail messages.


Note: If transferring a Prodigy, Flashnet or other SBC/AT&T ISP account to AT&T Yahoo! Dial, you can change your current settings instead of Adding a new OE account, so click
Tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties
General  &  Servers then Check

Here's the add account procedure:
   1. From the Tools menu, choose "Accounts."
   2. Select the "Mail" tab.
   3. Click the "Add" button.
   4. From the Add menu, click "Mail."
  5. In the text box labeled Display Name, type your name and click "Next."
   6. In the Email Address box, type your Member ID (be sure to include "@domain.com") and click "Next."
   7. Under "My incoming mail server is a..." select "POP3."
   8. Type  pop.att.yahoo.com  in the Incoming Mail (POP3, IMAP, or HTTP) Server box.
          -- Check the option labeled Use an encrypted connection (SSL) and change the POP3 port to 995.
   9. Type "smtp.att.yahoo.com" in the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server box.
          -- Check the option labeled Use an encrypted connection (SSL) and change the SMTP port to 465.
  10. Click "Next."
  11. In the Account Name box, type your Member Name (your email address including the "@domain.com").
  12. In the Password box, type your Member ID password.
  13. If you want Outlook Express to remember your password, check the "Remember password" box.
  14. Confirm settings and "OK" out.

Important: The SBC Yahoo! Mail SMTP server now requires authentication. To turn this setting on:

   1. From the Tools menu, choose "Accounts."
   2. Select the "Mail" tab.
   3. Double-click the account labeled "pop.att.yahoo.com." -- Port: 465
   4. Select the "Servers" tab.
   5. Check the box next to "My Server Requires Authentication."
   6. Click the Settings button to the right
   7. Select Login Using
   8. Enter your email address for Account name
   9. Enter the corresponding password
 10. Check Remember password (optional)
 11. Click "OK"

To control deletion of messages from the SBC Yahoo! Mail Server:

   1. From the Tools menu, choose "Accounts."
   2. Select the "Mail" tab.
   3. Double-click the account labeled "pop.domain.yahoo.com."
   4. Select the "Advanced" tab.
   5. In the Delivery section at the bottom of the window, check "Leave a copy of messages on server" if you want to save your SBC Yahoo! Mail messages on the SBC Yahoo! Mail server as well as on your local computer. Do not check this box if you want your messages to be deleted from the SBC Yahoo! Mail server once you have received them in Outlook Express.

Account migration can be accomplished from here

The purpose of this procedure is to provide for 
account transfer without adding software to the computer.
This is important for members whose computer might
not meet minimum configuration for the SBC software.
Members using this method of account transfer are
responsible for configuring their clients and DUN. Help

THE SETTINGS

manually fixed settings for Prodigy transitions are below
(If your domain is not 'prodigy', but is 'flash', 'swbell' or
another SBC ISP domain, change 'prodigy' to your domain)
NOTE: All domains now use the same server settings when migrated...

POP3 Server = pop.att.yahoo.com
SSL enabled - Port: 995

SMTP Server = smtp.att.yahoo.com
SSL enabled - Port: 465

Both require the same username/password.
Username = membername%prodigy.net
Password = password for that email account

Primary DNS server =  151.164.1.8
Secondary DNS server = 206.13.28.12
