Important: The SBC Yahoo! Mail SMTP server now requires authentication. To turn this setting on:
1. From the Tools menu, choose "Accounts."
2. Select the "Mail" tab.
3. Double-click the account labeled "pop.att.yahoo.com." -- Port: 465
4. Select the "Servers" tab.
5. Check the box next to "My Server Requires Authentication."
6. Click the Settings button to the right
7. Select Login Using
8. Enter your email address for Account name
9. Enter the corresponding password
10. Check Remember password (optional)
11. Click "OK"
To control deletion of messages from the SBC Yahoo! Mail Server:
1. From the Tools menu, choose "Accounts."
2. Select the "Mail" tab.
3. Double-click the account labeled "pop.domain.yahoo.com."
4. Select the "Advanced" tab.
5. In the Delivery section at the bottom of the window, check "Leave a copy
of messages on server" if you want to save your SBC Yahoo! Mail messages on
the SBC Yahoo! Mail server as well as on your local computer. Do not check
this box if you want your messages to be deleted from the SBC Yahoo! Mail
server once you have received them in Outlook Express.

The purpose of this procedure is to provide for
account transfer without adding software to the computer.
This is important for members whose computer might
not meet minimum configuration for the SBC software.
Members using this method of account transfer are
responsible for configuring their clients and DUN. Help
is available at the newsgroup and message board links
below.

THE SETTINGS
manually fixed settings
for Prodigy transitions are below
(If your domain is not 'prodigy', but is 'flash', 'swbell' or
another SBC ISP domain, change 'prodigy' to your domain)
NOTE: All domains now use the same server settings when migrated...
POP3 Server = pop.att.yahoo.com
SSL enabled - Port: 995
SMTP Server = smtp.att.yahoo.com
SSL enabled - Port: 465
Both require the same
username/password.
Username = membername%prodigy.net
Password = password for
that email account
Primary DNS server =
151.164.1.8
Secondary DNS server =
206.13.28.12
