This unofficial on-line brochure supplements the official paper version available at America's favorite place to eat, Waffle House. I decided to go to the effort of creating these pages since I found their paper location directory to be outdated. Click there for details. The directory pages linked to this page have been updated with listings found on the American Yellow Pages CD-ROM, combined with MicroSoft's Automap Streets Plus mapping program. My travel is enhanced when I have an accurate list of Waffle House restaurants available, and I'm sharing it with you because I'm such a nice guy. (It is still under copyright, of course.) Thank me very much!

Throughout the southeastern United States, you can count on a friendly "good morning" when you enter and decent food at a decent price, and they really do bring it out in a hurry. You hardly have time to get settled in your seat before your meal is whisked in front of you. Plus, they are open for business 24 hours each day. In short, I like the place.

There seem to be two major operators of Waffle House restaurants: Waffle House headquarters in Atlanta (actually Norcross), Georgia and Northlake Foods in Tampa, Florida. I have visited more stores that are franchised by Northlake than ones that are owned & operated directly by Waffle House hq.. I don't know which one has greater numbers, though. Another franchise operator, Freeway Foods in Greensboro, N.C., has all the stores along the interstates between Greensboro and Raleigh.

For a thorough treatment of Waffle House, consult John Mims' page. (See the bottom of this page.)

A note about the official Waffle House brochure.

The folks at Waffle House HQ have some confusing data in their paper location directory. I found that I could not rely on it. There were non-existent exit numbers listed for several interstate highways; it turns out that they were old exit numbers and that the highway department had since renumbered the exits. Waffle House HQ never bothered to update the old exit numbers to the new ones, they just added the new numbers right along side the old ones! Sometimes this even led to both the old and the new exit numbers on the list referring to the same interchange!

Also, you will find several locations here which do not appear in the official brochure. It seems that Waffle House restaurants are popping up faster than HQ can keep up with in their brochure. One franchiser indicated that you had better open up new stores or HQ would invade your territory, so the pressure is on to expand! I'd say that this makes it high time for their own official Web site, wouldn't you say? Why, yes I'd be happy to set it up for them!

You're welcome!

Your Stories

I have decided to post your stories here to be preserved for all time. I like hearing the experiences of others, even if those experiences were not positive. Hey, what can Waffle House do, fire me?? Go to the Waffle House stories page.
