Fake Fire
This is a sketch of the mechanism used in my fake fire place.
Suggestions for drum
1: Use bottom part of coffee can, wrap a clear plastic sheet around it,
mount it to motor shaft.
2: Use a 2 liter soda bottle, cut off one end, mount the other end to the
motor shaft.
Suggestions for Patterns
1: Use masking tape for patterns, paint drum orange. When dry, remove tape.
2: Use 2 sheets of cellophane, 1 yellow, 1 orange with patterns cut out,
wrap around drum one sheet over the other.
Mount into an open wooden or metal box (no front or top) large enough to fit
the assembly.
