Brinnand, Charles (Brinnet) (b. 1825, d. 1916)
Note: The only evidence that suppoerts that Charles is the son of Thomas and
Ester is the IGI Christening of Charles Brinnet - son of Thomas and
Hester.

The 1841 census lists Charles Brinnet (15) as a male servant at
Dunhampton Farm, Hatfield which is 12 miles from Kingsland.

The 1851 Census shows that two Brinnand families were living in Kingsland
- Thomas & Ester and Charles & Elizabeth

Charles was born in Amerley and so was Thomas and Ester's daughter
Elizabeth

The 1851 Census is the earliest record of this family using the surname
BRINNAND. Charles' death was registered as BRINNAND.

Brinnand, Thomas (Brinnett) (b. 1827, d. 1873)
Note: The IGI christening records list Thomas' surname as BRINNETT.

The 1851 census return lists him as BRINNANN.

The marriage to Emma LLewellyn in 1858 lists him as a BRENNARD and his
death was recorded as a BRINNAND.

The IGI christening records of their daughter, Mary, list her surname as
BRINNETT.

Brinnand, Isaac (Brennet) (b. 1831, d. 1883)
Note: Isaac's IGI christening record list his surname as BRENNET.

The IGI marriage to Mary Hoskins lists his surname as BRINNAND but the
marriage index lists it as BRENNAND.

The 1881 census returns clearly lists the surname as BRINNAND (the 1871
return may also be BRINNAND but is recorded as BRENNAND). These returns
do not list any children.

Brinnand, James (Pinnett) (b. 1836, d. BEF 1935)
Note: The IGI records show that James was christened on 16th Dec 1832 and his
surname was PINNETT (An email from Lynn Farrell on June 18th 2005 stated
that the parish records show his surname as BRENNETT).

The 1841 census lists him as James BRENNETT and his age as 6 - born in
1835???

Lynn Farrell also mentioned that her Gt GT GT Grandfather emigrated to
Australia. There is a record of a James Brennan, (age 18, a Wainwright
and born on Herefordshire) who left England on the ship "Caucasian on
11th Nov. 1851 and arrived in South Australia on 6th February 1852. (see
http://www.theshiplist.com/ships/australia/caucasian1852.htm for more
details).

There is no record of a "James Brennen" born in Herefordshire in either
the 1841 or 1852 census returns so it is assumed that James did emigrate
to Australia.

Brinnand, William (Brennand) (b. 1851, d. 1883)
Note: The IGI christening for Charles lists his surname as BRENNAND but his
birth was registered as BRINNAND

William is assumed to be the son of Charles and Elizabeth based on the
1861 Census.
The entry is as follows:-

Shirl Heath Common - Kingsland
Charles Brinnand Head M 35 Ag Labourer Amerley
Elizabeth Wife F 38
Disserth Radnor
William Son U 9 Scholar
Kingsland
James Son U 4 Scholar
Kingsland

The 1871 Census shows an additional son

George Son U 8
Kingsland
(It also records that Elizabeth was born in
Llansaintffraed-in-Elvel, Radnor)
* The surname was recorded as Brennand

The 1851 Census shows an earlier son

Thomas Son U 12
Disserth, Radnor
(It is assumed that Thomas was a son of Elizabeth prior to her marriage
to Charles and that Charles was not the father - later census records
list his name as Thomas Davies)

**** Confirmed *****
There is an IGI entry for the christening of William Brennand on 28 Sept
1851 at Kingsland

Children of William and Esther Harriet.

Mildred Ettie Brinnand confirmed that the following are children of
William and Esther Harriet:-
Charles 1872 Llanelly
David 1874 Llanelly
William Thomas 1876 Pontypridd
Margaret 1879 Cardiff
She also said they had daughters Jane and May
However, there are no birth registrations for either one.
Unconfirmed children are:-
Elizabeth Ann 1876 Llanelly ***
Elizabeth Jane 1881 Cardiff (she may have been known as Jane)
Mary Alice 1883 Cardiff (possibly May)

*** It is possible that Elizabeth Ann's birth was registered late after
the family left Llanelly
Although there is no death registration it may be that she died and
the next daughter born
was given her first name.

Brinnand, Charles (b. 1872, d. AFT 1903)
Note: Mildred Ettie Brinnand believes Charles emigrated to the USA
The 1901 Wales census lists Maud A Brinard as married with her son,
Albert C, living with her parents.
No Charles Brinnand has been found in the 1901 census.
There is a record of a BRINNAND (no first name - no date of birth)
sailing to Boston from Liverpool in 1903.

Brinnand, David (b. 1874, d. 12 Oct 1919)
Note: There is some question regarding the accuracy of David and Alice's
children
Some of them may be children of Charles and Maud
or descendants of James and ??? (Married 1875 in Llanelly)
The births of David and his brother, Charles were both registered in
Llanelly

Children assumed to be David and Alice's were registered as follows:-
Mary Alice in Llanelly in 1902 *
Florence Elizabeth in Cardiff in 1905 *
Alice Butler in Llanelly in 1906
William George in Merthyr Tidfil in 1908 *
David E in Cardiff in 1911 (Died in 1918)

* Note: Mildred Ettie Brinnand provided the following information
Alice was a daughter and married Jack Elsworthy
There is no marriage index for this but there is for Mary Alice who
married Walter Elsworthy.
Florance was a daughter
William was a son
It is assumed that William George is the son, although his birth was
registered at Merthyr Tidfil
Edward was a son
There is no birth index for Edward; maybe David E went by Edward.
