Jones, Mr. (b. ABT 1887, d. AFT 1914)
Death: AFT 1914
Note: Robinson and Elsie emigrated to Australia in 1921 with their son Harold.
Robinson was a commissioned officer in the British Navy and stationed at
Jarvis Bay Naval Base in New South Wales. He had to return to England for
two years and apparently met someone, because he never returned to his
wife Elsie.

Note: Mary and her sister, Edith, have an interesting history. The spent
their younger days as nurses to foreign dignitaries and when they
returned to England they started Highfield Nursing Home in Bradford.
After selling the Home to the National Health Service Mary went on to
become a high ranking official in the NHS. She was awarded the MBE by
Queen Elizabeth on Feb. 7th 1952 for her services.
Mary amassed some wealth and, on her death, it passed to her brother,
George. On his death it went to his second wife, Madge Swinnerton, and
therefore left the Brinnand family.

Note: A copy of the Bishop's Transcripts of Kirkby Lonsdale is on file; it
lists the christening of Thomas, son of Thomas & Sarah Brinnand of
Cat-Holes born 18 March (1794) and christened on April 6 (1794).
A copy of Thomas and Margaret's Banns and Marriage Certificate are in
the archives. Thomas' occupation is listed as "Husbandman".
The census for 1841 show his age as 45 (i.e. born 1796) with a surname
of Brinnen. He was Inn-Keeper at Levens Bridge Inn (now known as Gilprin
Bridge Inn) and living with his wife Margaret (45) and children Thomas
(22), Hannah (20), George (13), Mary (9) and Isabella (7). A copy of this
census entry is on file.
There is a some question about the death information. The Casterton
parish records show that he was buried on 26 Jul 1850 at age 56 yet he is
listed on George's marriage certificate in 1852 as having the profession
of Husbandman (the surname was recorded as Brennen). However according to
the 1851 census the Cummings family were at Levens Inn; there was no
entry for a Thomas in the general area and a widow, Margaret Brennan (59)
was living at Holly, Casterton with her son Thomas (37). Even though
Margaret and Thomas' ages are off by 4 years, this does support the
assumption that Thomas was dead at this time and that he should have been
listed as deceased on George's marriage certificate. In 1861 Margaret
Brennan (69) was living in Burton with her son-in-law, Samual Hadwin,
daughter Margaret (36) and grandson ,Thomas "Brinnand" Hadwin.
