The Carolina Greyhound Connection is a group formed to help greyhounds find their way home in the Carolinas and beyond. CGC operates using a network of contacts in the racing industry, the breeding industry, adoption groups and private foster homes in order to make permanent connections between hounds and new families. The CGC also participates in events such as Spring Fling and the Tour for Life in Spartanburg, and with The Hounds of East Fairhaven in the Carolina Renaissance Festival.

May 1, 2003, CGC was granted federal 501(c)3 status!!

CGC decided at its inception to have a board of directors who will vote on ALL business pertaining to CGC, including approving adoptions. Our directors all are greyhound lovers with different backgrounds and adoption experiences. Our officers serve for two year terms, and can be reached by clicking on one of the emails below:

How To Adopt:

To adopt a greyhound from CGC, we require an application, a home visit/interview, and an adoption fee of $200. Your greyhound will be spayed or neutered, have received his or her first round of shots, been tested for heartworms and started on heartworm preventative, given wormer if necessary, and will come home with a muzzle, Premier martingale collar and matching leash. The adoption fee helps pay our vet bills, support hounds in foster care, and transport new hounds to our group for adoption.

It is the goal and sole intent of CGC to act for the welfare of the greyhound breed. Our adoption area is the state of SC, Western NC and Northeastern GA. We take no official stance on the racing industry, and encourage our members to form their own opinions about this very controversial subject. We are a registered 501(c)3 tax exempt organization.
