Airliner Crashes
Feb 25 Fox TV reports 9 dead when a A Turkish plane slammed into a field
at Amsterdam Airport and broke into 3 pieces. Turkish Airlines says all 135 passengers
survived. There doesn't seem to be too much fire damage, but considerable structural
damage at the rear. It may have landed with its nose up. The damage at the back
was worse than the front, which implies it landed at a fairly steep angle.

CHINA BUYING USA DEBT
China has bought and paid for the USA, and owns us. China has dispensed over a
trillion dollars to the United States in this decade. Some suspect the Chinese are
building financial leverage to coerce the US government to yield to their demands on
other fronts, lest they dump their dollar reserves on the world market and tank the
US dollar and possibly economy.
But now Beijing faces serious troubles at home. How long will it be willing to keep
shipping hundreds of billions of dollars a year to an increasingly suspect customer?
Trade deficits must be financed. Foreign citizens are normally willing to finance our
trade deficit. They see America as a good place to buy equity shares and build
manufacturing facilities. They see US Treasury bonds as relatively safe places to
store savings. China has designed its economy to be an export platform, selling to
the insatiable US consumer. We buy their stuff, and they buy our bonds.

federal government said might take 40% ownership of Citi. Christopher Dodd said

Taking advantage of being a hero after landing on the Hudson River in January, the
pilot testified he has had a huge pay cut. He said airlines cant afford well qualified
