I have a vision for the future of the English StaffyBull in the USA. I hope to see SBT only in homes that love them, are humane and responsible; protecting their health, traits and reputation as the ultimate NANNY DOG. I hope to NEVER see the SBT bred poorly by those chasing fads, or mass produced, in numbers exceeding the amount of excellent homes. This wonderful (but not easy for all to own) breed is beginning to show up in puppy mills and some kennels with miserable conditions and irresponsible puppy-placing habits. You can help stop this trend!!!!!

If you're searching for a SBT, how and where you look WILL impact the future of the breed. Remember this is a breed valued for temperament! Make temperament your FIRST and most important criteria when choosing. Please avoid pet stores, puppy mills, irresponsible backyard-breeders and anyone breeding for LOOKS first, intelligence second (or third, or fourth)!

The following dogs are Ambassadors & examples of what the breed should be. They're either owned by me, or by pet owners willing to help YOU learn about the SBT. Their owners are examples of responsible protectors, and have volunteered to answer your questions while you research. They know what to expect while searching and raising a SBT; hopefully their experiences will help you decide if this is the right dog for you.

ANGEL ROCK FIREFLY (Lives in Washington)

Here's little miss Firefly! She's 14 inches and under 30 pounds -- this is Ruby's littermate sister. Firefly is a prime example of why I breed --- she has the brains, the bombproof TEMPERAMENT, and that all-purpose awesome , courageous, trustworthy, quiet, super-loving personality PLUS athletic ability that'll make you stand in awe. She's my favorite old line breeding, preserving the blood of legendary dogs who wowed England in the 1970s.

16" tall, 38 pounds

Obi belongs to my son, Ray. :) They were inseparable since Ray was an infant, and then when he had just learned to talk, one of his first sentences was "Can I have Obi?" What could I say? Obviously the kid was smart, asking for a dog who was already mature and well trained!!! No wild puppies for this boy.

So, Obi is "our" pup-cake, the sweetest dog who ever lived! He's been my long-time partner working with abused children - he is NEVER wary of strangers - he loves them all. He's confident and bold - nothing worries this dog (he ignores thunder and other things that might nerve some canines out.)

He's always ready to give a gentle kiss to children, or a more enthusiastic SLURP to adults. Obi has over-the-top affection level, high-intelligence & is a quick learner, overall steady/bold temperament (soft with people - a "pleaser" and very gentle with pups - but big-dog-attitude when confronting other things in life), super intense play drive, a beautiful headpiece with a great stop and perfect muzzle to head ratio etc, great bone but also plenty of leg -- he's probably the most balanced (balance between bull and terrier) SBT dog I've seen. He's right in the middle.

Obi is relaxed, quiet and a very good listener. This is SO important to me - with as much as I have going on, I need a dog who knows when to chill out.

Other notable things about Obi - he was born in a litter of 12 healthy pups! He's nine years old now and has never been sick a day in his life (except for when he ate a whole can of grease! (He thought it was set out for him))

14" tall, 30 pounds

MARTA (AKA MIGHTY MOUSE) is a sweet and affectionate darling who lives with her family in Canada and loves to meet new people; she's the ideal type of Stafford (small, happy, quiet, super smart & never demanding). Marta has the perfect Stafford temperament - she's a mellow girl who loves to please her people (easy to teach is an understatement; this girl does what you want BEFORE you tell her - a look is enough), but an extremely tenacious Little Engine Who Could when confronting a challenge. (This is one dog you'd want to take if you're tracking lions, tigers and bears; oh my!)

Marta is tiny enough that my younger children (who used to beg for a toy-breed lap dog) said she's exactly what they wanted! I've never seen a more gentle dog with people, and especially children (and I have Staffords - so I've seen plenty of dogs who are gentle with children!) I would trust and choose Marta as my babysitter or nanny over most humans that I've met. :)

She has a very sound little athletic build - quick, agile and always ready to play hard . A big dog in a small package, very intelligent and an excellent (free-whelping) mother of Good sized litters (nature's way of giving her body type and health a stamp of approval). Marta has been very instrumental in my bloodline because (like Obi) her pedigree dates waay waay back to the legendary dogs that have always been my ideal Staffords.

Say hello to the Queen !!!!!!!!!

15.5" tall, 36 pounds

QUEEN is Miss PERSONALITY PLUS and belongs to my teenage son Corban. He'll tell you she's the perfect dog, and she'll agree (Yes, she talks.)

Queen is gentle, very affectionate and happy, more than just highly intelligent - intuitive, loves to learn and has an abundance of play-DRIVE! She truly enjoys playing dress-up with the preschoolers, or smiling and laying quietly at the bottom of a pile of kids and their toys. They wrap her in blankets, tie socks on her ears and she just smiles and looks like she's never been happier.

She's a super-confident, laughing, teasing dog (it's actually hard to think of her as a dog) & a free-thinker who loves to figure things out. She has a great sense of humor and knows what you're thinking. She enjoys impressing us with her good behavior and tricks. When she was a puppy, she taught herself to unbuckle her collar with her feet and take it off. Fortunately, she stopped doing it when I explained that it was a bad idea. One of her jokes is to fall on the ground, put her legs in the air and stick out her tongue when I ask her to go to her bed (she prefers people's beds).

She's fairly quiet, but she'll call me anytime one of the dogs is misbehaving, or if something's amiss. Queen's mother recently saved a child's life and was nominated for a HERO AWARD and written up in the newspaper. Queen has the same super-hero personality. Queen saved Sugar's life when she was a puppy and I know she'd do the same for the children if anything ever goes wrong. She's an excellent child's playmate, & watch-dog; always watching everything and everyone.

Queen's construction is athletic, beautifully sculpted and muscular. She's a stunning, incredibly strong, agile little Stafford with FAST, graceful movement.
