8/4 SUNDAY RIDE

(not a planned Bible Biker’s ride, just a group of Christian motorcycle enthusiasts)
A member of the Bible Biker’s participated in a charity run to the “Berea Children’s Home & Family Services”, near Cleveland, Oh. This is a home for abused, neglected, & abandon children and actually about 15% of their children come from Franklin County.  We took up school supplies and other items they need. They gave us a tour of the facility, told us some of the success stories and some of the heartbreaking ones, we meet one of the pastors and had prayer for the pastor and our tour guide.  I would like to Bible Bikers to organize some charity rides and involve the church in donating supplies. But more on that later
8/5 SUNDAY RIDE
Biker Sunday at the Nazarene Church in Grove City
RIDERS:

Steve & Jill Chapman, Bob & Patti Karst, Greg Lambert, Phil & Michelle Johnson and Tom and Judy Locke.
SERVICE:

This is an annual event, we hope to be involved in next year (prayer partners, salvation follow up, something). Biker’s Sunday is when they invite biker’s. All bikers are welcomed, but they are reaching out to the hard core bikers who live a biker’s life. At last count there were 450 bikers. The gave each driver a T-shirt, a kick stand guard, feed them and their co-riders lunch, a parade through Grove City and an ice cream social after the parade. The streets of Grove City had many spectators lined up to watch all the bikes. The guest speaker, Barry Mayson, is an ex Hell’s Angels leader (he controlled the State of South Carolina for the Hell’s Angels back in the 70’s) and now a born again Christian, due to his Mother (and many others). Dressed in leather with tattoos, as many of the bikers were, he talked to bikers about salvation. A powerful speaker who could reach bikers where we can’t, because he has been there, he has lived their life and knows where the are coming from and more importantly knows where they are going. At the invocation at least 70 people received or rededicated their lives to the Lord after a long absence. At one point, they ran out of seats and asked people to join the choir. Bob & Patti Karst and Tom and Judy Locke joined the choir and had a great time singing. As I stated earlier, we plan to help somehow next year and get unsaved  riders to attend, so give me your ideas, as we begin to make contact with the Nazarene Church.
