| Psychologists in the state of Texas are licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists. Requirements to become a psychologist include earning a doctorate in Psychology, two years of supervision, passing two written exams and an oral examination. These are some of the highest licensing standards in the country for a mental health practitioner.
