Personal Interests

Mathematics, Number Theory, Primes Research
I've been inteersted in mathematics, especially number theory, since a very early age, and have a particular enthusiasm for the current computer-aided searches. I am a member of the Great Internet Mersenne Prime Search but spend what little free time I have performing my own research and programming in this field. I'd like one day to return to my studies and get a doctorate for my efforts, but more than likely this will be after my own children complete their college careers!
Soccer
I am an avid soccer fan, both as a player and a spectator. I still keep in touch with events on the British soccer scene and still support Aston Villa Football Club from afar. Last fall I was fortunate enough to be able to coach two YMCA youth teams at under 6 and under 8 level.
Software Development
Despite the fact that this is what I do for a living, I'm still interested enough to pursue it in my spare time. I'm interested in all kinds of new tools and technologies, most particularly in the fields of the internet, network, distributed computing, and object-oriented programming. Much of my spare time development is involved in mathematical research.

Current Projects

PrimeForm
PrimeForm is a primality-testing and -proving program for Windows systems that allows users to test mathematical expressions of their choice. It is under continual development, if you would like to check it out, please take a look.
The Open Directory Project
I am a volunteer editor for the Netscape Open Directory Project, the largest human-edited directory of the Web, in categories relating to primality testing. Give it a try, and see for yourself that when it comes to search engines, humans do it better.
