(4/11/99) "...Chuck Berk's works, "Harvey" and "Loretta" pictured above, are excellent examples of using the colors and style of abstractism, in combination with the necessary elements of realism, to create portraits that are bold and vibrant. Notice that the skin tones are far from natural. The playful use of color contributes to the vibrancy of the work and gives the viewer a sense of the vitality of these personalities. View further examples of Chuck's work and you'll understand why I had trouble selecting only a couple of images for this article..."
