Hi, and welcome to the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band OnLine! If you haven't been here before, enjoy your visit, and come back often. My name is Christi Malmberg, and I run this website. You can click here to email me . The Dirt Band has been a favorite of mine since I bought 20 Years of Dirt and found two other albums in a book store in 1989. I was hooked for good. When I got my first email account and couldn't find any information on the Internet about the band, I decided to do it myself.
My qualifications? Not much, as these things go - I was a fan club member back when there was a fan club, and did a 40 page term paper on the history of the band for high school english, and now own all of the band's work except for two of the earliest albums.
Since I started this page back before Christmas of 1995, I've been in touch with both Ibby and Bob Carpenter (from the band) and Bob Winnett (the band's merchandise manager) via email, as well as quite a few fans from all over the world who have also been looking for information about the band.
I'll try to keep the page as simple as possible, since I know some people still access the Internet with text-only programs. I eventually may add some Java or JavaScript functions, although I will have a "plain" version of the site available as well. But first I'll have to learn Java or JavaScript, or both. Don't look for obnoxious backgrounds or annoying animated graphics, though. Pointless moving graphics annoy me, because of the pointlessness, and because the graphics never finish downloading). In the words of some old sage, "keep it simple."
Legal type information - all graphics on this page were either provided by the Dirt Band or other fans, created by me or for me, or were obtained as freeware from one of the many many sites on the web.
