I love organized crime!!!! It is as old as time. I have read every book I can get ahold of. I watch every movie I can. I have watched Gottion HBO and rented it several times. I am fascinated with the impact it has on the economy, who really runs this country and what can be done with the connections to organized crime. The Kennedy Assasination first spurred my interest in the mob many years ago. If you look at "how" Kennedy got elected, where his family earned their money and what connections Joe Kennedy had with Frank Costello, it is not surprising as to how things get done or why things "do not" get done. For a real wake up call read the Gemstone file. I lays out a nice chronology of events from pre-WWI until the 80's.

lucky.gif (19192 bytes)The first time I saw "The Godfather" I had no idea how true to form much of it was. That was how true "Cosa Nostra" supposed to be. Godfather II was even more realistic. The more I see it and read about other mobsters, casinos, gambling (pre-Castro)in Cuba the more fascinating it becomes. Goodfellas, Casino, Donny Brasco and many more were all true. The books were better than the movies. I love it all!!! From Arnold Rothstein fixing the World Series in 1919 to Vinny the Chins' trial, the Five Families. From Meyer Lansky to Don Carlo to Carlos Marcello. The Teamsters pension fund to Jimmy Hoffa's disappearance.

hoffa.gif (16259 bytes)The most fascinating book I read was "Mob Lawyer" written by Nicholas Pileggi as told by Frank Ragano. Ragano served as Jimmy Hoffas' and Santos Trafficantes' personal attorney for 20+ years. It was only after Trafficantes' death did he write the book as the client/attorney priveledge was no longer valid. Trafficante, who was cohorts of Carlos Marcello were two of the most notorious and well known Mobsters of all time. The facts in Raganos' book are almost an outline of what the commision appointed to investigate the Kennedy Assasination in 1978 had suspected all along. He tells of many events of Jimmy Hoffas' battles with Bobby Kennedy, jury tampering, the Test Fleet case and connections with every major mob boss in the country. Best of all, explicit details of the Kennedy Assassination.
