Many Hands Make Light Work

Volunteers are needed throughout the year to assist with Cabrillo School and PTA events. Studies have shown that students perform better when they see that parents value education. Volunteering, whenever you can, is also a great way to get to know your school, its teachers, and other parents and community members who, like you, care about our kids.

To find out more, contact our Volunteer Coordinator, or drop a note in the PTA box in the Cabrillo office.

Hands On Gardening

Please join in this beautification and education project. We can use an hour of your time. New projects include an irrigation system, a garden guidebook, plant markers, and classroom garden activities. Your ideas are welcome!

Supplies needed include bark, seeds, soil, watering cans, and a drip system. Please help us make this program grow.

See our Butterfly Garden page for gardening dates and special Saturday events such as tea parties and an earth day celebration.

Room Parents

Each classroom needs a Room Parent and Room Helpers.

What does a Room Parent do?

At the very least, being Room Parent means coordinating a holiday party in December and an end of year party in June. The Room Parent coordinates activities for these parties with the teacher and the Room Helpers. Much of this work is done in by telephone and can be done in the evening.
