Introduction

Here I am in a little Internet cafe behind the big supermarket in Bobo-Dioulasso trying to write an introduction to my blog. I am not really sure what to write. Things are moving along here in Burkina Faso as I meet people, exchange ideas, and collect information. I fret that I will not have enough material to use in my dissertation. But, as I look through the website that Chris has created and maintains, I realize that I do not economize on the number of words I use when I write.

I imagine many of you may only scan through my thoughts. Feel free to look quickly or to take your time. And, as always, feel free to write to me. I wish you all the best in 2006.
