Genealogy

Since my retirement from the U.S. Navy I have developed an interest in the history and genealogy of my family. I suspect this interest developed as the consequence of the fact that as a child there were few if any opportunities to participate in any sort of "normal" family relationships or associations. Most of my relatives, both near and far, are scattered from "hell to high water". Many I have never met and know of only as the result of my research into the history of the various branches of my ancestry.

I am afraid I do not spend as much time on my genealogy projects as I probably should. But then it is, after all, a hobby. So I add a little bit here, a little bit there, and slowly I have begun to build up an idea of who my ancestors were and where they came from. And in the process I have learned a great deal more about the history of our nation and the countries they came from. Not to mention "tons" and "tons" of good stories and gossip about the relatives.

Here on the site I have divided the information I am presenting into three distinct groupings. They are my paternal ancestry (that's on my Dad's side of the family), my maternal ancestry (Mom's family) and some allied families of significance or note that are related more indirectly.
