Reading books, or for that matter just about any type of literature, is the most important skill any human being can develop. I don't care if you are reading the epics of Homer in the original Greek language or the latest adventure of Spiderman by Stan Lee. What is important is that you are reading. With each story, each magazine, each newspaper, each poem, you are gaining knowledge and an improved perception of the world in which we all must live. Please feel free to return to this page occasionally. Over time I will be updating it with comments and reviews of books, magazines and articles that I am currently engaged in or feel strongly enough about to bring to your attention. My current project is to read "The Count of Monte Cristo" written by Alexander Dumas. The Independent Film Channel (IFC) recently aired a French language version (with English subtitles) and I realized that I had not read the book since I was a child. It is time to read it again. |
