Custom Pots

Here is a selection of my handmade pots. Some of these pots aren't necessarily in stock. I simply wanted to be able to show you the wide selection of style's and glazing patterns that I offer. Pottery is a long-time interest, (since college in 1978) but I have been making and selling pots for two years now. They are high-fired stoneware pots of original designs. Each pot is totally handmade. I offer slab/hand style pots that are hand-built (no wheel work or slip-cast molds) and no two are alike. I also offer a line of wheel thrown pots as well. These are also all built by hand so while I can get the same basic shapes no two are exactly alike.

I started with only mame pots but have expanded to larger sizes. For this reason a pottery catalog is impractical. Examples of my work can be seen below. I use 5 different clays (either glazed or unglazed) and offer 15 different glazes. My trademark pot is a 5-sided asymmetrical shape with a narrow rail around the rim of the pot. This is a  very time consuming pot to build, with usually 14 pieces used in assembly. Some examples of this pot can be seen in the pictures. My goal will remain to make contemporary, one-of-a-kind , hand-built functional pots for the art of bonsai.
