This is
probably the best tool on the market for cutting through large amounts of wood quickly and
safely. It removes as much wood as the traditional 2 flute router bits but doesn't have
the tendency to "kick out" like they do. They also seem never to clog. The large
version has rotating/changeable cutting surfaces so there is no need to spend time
sharpening the bit or even worse costly replacement. As you can see by the picture on the
right they are built for years of hard use.
This shows the Samurai with a replacement set of
cutting teeth and the tool required to replace the teeth. However due to the design of the
Samurai you can simply loosen the teeth and rotate them to a fresh sharp cutting edge.
Thus you get a lot of use out of the teeth before you ever need to think of replacement.
In order to not ignore those artists who want the carving
advantages of the Samurai but don't require a heavy duty cutting bit we have the Samurai
Junior. Don't be fooled this bit will still handle most of the heavy duty
work of the full size
bit can be run in the smaller die grinders and hand held rotary tools. They are also great
to use after roughening out the carving area. The smaller size allows you to start to add
more detail to your jin and shari. This can also be had for a considerable amount less
than the full size Samurai. The only difference is that the Samurai Junior doesn't offer
the replaceable cutting teeth. As you can see from the picture it is available in 2 shank
sizes.
If that doesn't convince you of the superior design of this tool here are some statements offered by a just a few of the many well known Bonsai Artists that rely on the Samurai for their creations.
Ernie Kuo, Buena Park, California
"It cuts through green wood without loading."
Arthur Skolnik, Toronto, Canada
"The Samurai transforms the wild power and blazing speed of a Tasmanian Devil and
harnesses it into a strong, smooth and dependable wood eliminator. If you plan on carving,
you can depend on a Samurai. It does as you wish effortlessly. It is strong enough for Bob
Villa but made for the Smithsonian Museum."
Chase Rosade, New Hope, Pennsylvania
"I have been using the Samurai wood cutter for the past few years. I like it
better and it's safer than using a chain saw."
Gary Marchal, New Orleans, Lousiana
"The Samurai is an aggressive bit that even a novice
can quickly master. It cuts easily without the feeling of losing control. I highly
recommend the 'Samurai' on all of your heavy carving needs."
