Pertelian X2040 An alternative pole display |
|
In many cases your cash register will need to be set up in such a way that the customers cannot see the screen. In this case you will want to use a
secondary display device, like a pole display, so that the customer can see that the correct merchandise is being run up. The problem with this is that pole displays are quite expensive, usually just under $200.00 US. A much lower cost alternative is the Pertelian X2040 Display shown here. It's cost is under $50.00 US |

Disadvantages The only disadvantage to a standard pole display is that the Pertelian X2040 is small, with a screen 3 inches wide and 1 inch high. However the size is not an important consideration because you can mount the display closer to the customer on the top, back, or just below the back of the computer monitor. Or anywhere you choose. The display is quite readable from 1 yard (1 meter) away. The display has a back light that can be turned on or off. The display comes with a Velcro back and a stand so it can be mounted anywhere on almost any flat surface. The X2040 can only be used under Windows versions '98 and higher.
Advantages 2. Unlike pole displays that display two 20 character lines the Pertelian X2040 Display can show four 20 character lines. My POS software takes advantage of this by using the top two lines to display the standard pole display output and uses the bottom two lines to display the total tax and total due of the current sale.
Software PERTPOLE.EXE will only function with my POS software although they are working on getting it to emulate the Logic Control command set for pole displays. This will allow the Pertelian X2040 Display to work most POS systems in the future.
