THE STAFF

The Columbia Township Fire Department has 35 team members in its department.

• 8 paramedics
• 14 advanced emergency medical technicians (EMT's)
• 9 basic emergency medical technicians (EMT's)
• 4 in training personnel

The department also has 4 members on the Lorain County Hazmat (Hazmat Material) Team, and a Dive Team who works with the Lorain County Dive Team.

All department members train every week on fire and/or rescue areas.

THE EQUIPMENT

The Columbia Township Fire Department's fire equipment includes:

• 2 ambulances (fully paramedic equipped for advanced cardiac life support)
• 2 pumpers
• 1 tanker
• 1 equipment van
• 1 grass fire truck

The ambulances are specially equipped with direct C-Coms radio contact and telemetry units, cellular phone telemetry, automatic electronic defibralator and the "Jaws of Life" equipment to extricate auto accident victims.
