Acorn Deadtree is a 6'1" tall male human weighs about 230 lbs. He has deep green eyes and shiny black hair that hangs down to his shoulders (its slightly wavy) and a twinkle when he smiles (a.k.a. Doc Savage). He wears a chain shirt, which he keeps clean, brown breaches, white shirt (when not in armor) and a white surcoat with the symbol of Ilmater emblazoned on it. His cloak is a simple brown woolen one and he wears calf-high leather boots.

Acorn Deadtree was born the child of Kastril and Genny Deadtree, his father a fighter and his mother believed to be a druid. His childhood was a rather bland life for one that was to become a Paladin, but such was his lot in life. While growing up he was not the strongest or necessarily the wisest, and as such took quite the ribbing from the other children he grew up with. He always found himself helping the hurt or protecting others from bullies, though he took quite the beating himself.

One day at the age of fourteen years Acorn came home and found his father had disappeared. He and his mother were at a loss. Acorn tried to comfort his mother as best he could. During this time Acorn realized that he could better protect those around him if he made up for his shortcomings and made greater use of his strengths. While on the outskirts of town, Acorn came across a cleric of Illmater. Acorn told him his dilemma, and the cleric told him of his faith. They found that the church and Acorn were a good fit indeed. The cleric went to Acorn's home where he petitioned his mother to let the boy come and study at the church he was traveling to. Genny acquiesced and Acorn was indocutrned into the church of Illmater.

Acorn was an apt pupil. After several years and much training, it became clear Acorn was quite the fighter. It seemed that somewhere in the back of his mind he just couldn't shake the image of his father. His mentor asked the head of the church, if it would please Illmater, to allow Acorn to train as a Paladin. For Acorn, this was the best of everything. He learned quickly, and before he knew it his training was complete. Acorn then set out upon the adventuring life to spread the world of his god though his actions and deeds.

He was moderately successful sticking to the tenets of his faith. He experienced his hardest test recently when he was captured by drow and used as bait for an adventuring party. He was freed by that group and helped them to fight off the evil dark elves. He has since joined that party of adventurers and now leads them to untouchable greatness and glory.

Acorn continues to face new tests of his faith. Currently, a halfling that Illmater sent as a test to see if he stays true to his teachings…
