Jennifer Brown
Cousin Jennifer

Jennifer Brown alternated as Helena and Moth.

I don't have a lot of good production pictures of my talented and beautiful cousin Jennifer, and here's why. On alternate nights the fairies and lovers exchanged roles, and Jennifer and Kimberlee Shaw alternated as Helena and Moth. Helena has a lot of stage time; Moth doesn't have much. The night that my friend Hal took these pictures, Jennifer was playing Moth. If you look at the page with the Fairies, Jennifer is almost completely hidden behind the bench. So there are more pictures of her below this text.

Likewise, Andrea Ryder and Diane Sintich took turns playing Titania and Hippolyta, and Nicholaas Job and Israel Mirsky took turns with Oberon and Theseus. Justin Tyler and Keith Chandler traded off as Bottom, and James Ryan Caldwell and Rob O'Hare traded off as Robin Starveling.

So we practically had two complete casts, which increased the time required for rehearsals, but it meant that the small parts--for example, the fairies--were played by actors as strong as those playing the lovers. And since it was my good fortune to have wonderful actors, the show was a dream in every way.

I told all my actors that I would gladly recommend them to anybody who was thinking of casting them, and I meant it. They look too good to be real, do they not? But they can all act, and can all handle Shakespeare's verse à la merveille.

Below are the other pictures of Cousin Jennifer:
