Genealogy Home PageThe purpose of our genealogy page is to help others as well as ourselves expand the knowledge of our family lineage. Our website mostly gives simple lists of names and family groupings, but sometimes when the connections aren't clear, we give our latest speculations. We do not present much from our collection of deeds, military service, probate records, etc. Maybe someday someone will write a book for all of that. However, if you are desperate for such info, drop a line and we'll see if we can help out.We think our web pages are intuitive to use. But if not, you can always read the instructions (recommended for first-time visitors). Or jump right in exploring from the pedigree charts or the surname index. Instructions for Genealogy pagesYou can jump to our various surname pages either of two ways...
When you click on the name of one of the great-grandparents you are transported to the page for that surname. There the screen will typically be divided into two "windows" or "frames" -- the frame on the left lists direct-line ancestors (with spouse(s) and children) in order from the earliest generation to the latest*. This format allows you to easily see the families for each generation without the distraction of other sideshoots. BUT if you WANT to see the sideshoots, well, that's the purpose of the right frame. Click on a name in the left frame, and sideshoot info appears for that person in the right frame (note that you can move the dividing line between the frames to adjust their widths). For sideshoots, it boils down to this -- click on a sibling and see their descendants; click on a spouse and see their ancestors and siblings (and maybe some additional sideshoots for their line). Well maybe it's hard to explain in words so just go ahead and try it. Don't be bashful about clicking around on the various links; if you get lost simply click on [HOME] to return to this page. * PLEASE NOTE
