A: Configuring Windows Colors and Screen Area
a.. Open the start menu (Windows key or control + escape)
b.. Cursor to settings and press enter
c.. Cursor to control panel and press enter
d.. Press the letter "d" until "display" is located
e.. Press enter on display
f.. Press control + shift + tab to access the settings property
sheet.
g.. Use the up and down arrow key to select the color setting for
your screen reader. Please consult your screen reader's documentation or
tech support for this information.
h.. Press the tab key one time to access the screen area slide bar.
i.. JFW users, route jaws to PC (insert + minus (-) on your numpad),
Press insert + numpad six until you hear the screen resolution (options
include - 640 x 480, 800 x 600, etc...). If the display is not 800 x 600,
enable the PC cursor with the plus key on the numeric keypad and use the
right arrows to set the resolution. Re-read the screen dimensions with
insert + numpad 8.
j.. Window-Eyes users, route mouse to application cursor (insert +
numpad plus (+), Press insert + numpad six until you hear the screen
resolution (options include - 640 x 480, 800 x 600, etc...). If the display
is not 800 x 600, use the right arrows to set the resolution. Re-read the
screen dimensions with control + numpad 5.
k.. Press control + shift + tab twice to access the effects property
sheet.
l.. use the tab key until "animate windows, menus, and lists is
selected.
m.. If the checkbox is checked, uncheck it with the space bar. This
option should be unchecked.
n.. Press control + shift + tab once more to access the appearance
property sheet
o.. Use the up and down arrow keys to select "windows standard".
p.. Press control + shift + tab once more to access the screen saver
property sheet.
q.. use the home key to select "none".
r.. Press enter to close the dialog and save the changes.
s.. If the computer wishes to reboot, allow it to do so.
B: Configuring the folder options
a.. Open the start menu (Windows key or control + escape)
b.. Cursor down to settings and press enter.
c.. Cursor down to "folder options" and press enter.
d.. Press alt + u to select the "custom based on settings I choose"
option.
e.. Press the tab key once to access the "settings" button and press
the spacebar.
f.. Press alt + u to enable "use windows classic desktop".
g.. Press alt + m to enable "open each folder in the same window".
h.. Press alt + o to enable "only for folders where I select "as web
page" (view menu).
i.. Press alt + d to enable "double click to open an item, single
click to select".
j.. Press enter to close the dialog and save the changes.
k.. Press control + tab.
l.. press the tab key until the tree view is located.
m.. use the down arrow to locate "show pop-up description for folder
and desktop items".
n.. If the option is checked, uncheck the check box through the use
of the space bar. This option should be unchecked.
o.. use the tab key to locate the close button and press the
spacebar.
C: One last step in configuring the folder options
a.. Open any folder on your computer through Windows Explorer or My
Computer.
b.. Open the view menu, alt + v
c.. Cursor down to "as web page" and make sure it is not checked. If
it is checked, press the enter key and then re-enter the view menu.
d.. Cursor down to list and make sure it is checked, if it is not
checked, press enter on the option to check it.
e.. Open the view menu and press enter on options.
f.. Press enter once more and answer yes to the dialog.
g.. tab to close and press the spacebar.
h.. Your folders are now configured to all display a list without
web page view.
